Maikel Leads The Way | Royals Take Series Win in Texas

From worldwide field in Arlington. It’s the Texas Rangers against the Kansas City Royals game two of a three game series. There’s one of the two lefties going at it tonight. It will be Patrick Corbin on the mound for the Rangers. He has been just a huge pick me up for this rotation and India swings and misses that one. Actually, it almost looked like he foul tipped it but he did not bounced well in front of the plate. He couldn’t get to it. And there’s the first out tonight, here’s Bobby with junior seventh pitch of the at bat and that is right in there. Strike three called with a fastball, but that one snuck up on two and he has fanned the first two batters of the ball game next up Michael Garcia. Garcia swings. It’s a fly ball to center back. Ping is Langford, he puts it away. It’s a 1 to 2 to 3 inning for Patrick Corbin in the top of the first and now chris BBI with the fourth lowest, er, a in the major leagues and only given up three home runs in 79 plus innings. He’s been dealing this year, no question, the one strike pitch and Haggerty shoots that over first and that’s a base hit heading down into the corner and a bad hot gets away. Haggerty around second hill to third and it’s a leadoff triple , third, triple of the season for Haggerty. The Rangers with a chance to grab just as the Royals did last night. Infield is not in against Langford hitting just 211 against lefties this year and he reps this one past third that will get Haggerty the play Langford cruises to second and that ball blistered down the line for the RB I double Rangers get that first run of the night. A 12 chain and Wyatt right past Garcia not only holding opponents to a 115 average on the change, that’s the first extra base hit. He’s given up on that pitch two outs. Langford at second Rangers on top 10. Here’s a, it’s going to be up to garcia to cash in Langford 3 to 2 pitch and that is flared into center that will get down for a base hit and Langford scores easily have to drive it to the wall, soft contact good enough to get it done. And the Rangers lead runner at first now with two men out and that brings up Sam Haggerty, Haggerty who triples just inside the right field line. His first time out to right in for a hit this time can cuts it off before it gets to that wall in the corner there and Haggerty with a single and the Rangers have runners on the corners with two outs for Wan Langford. The 02 pitch haggerty runs fastball high for throw to second on target tag down. They got him Freddy for the inning with a cannon across the diamond. He throws out Sam Haggerty trying to steal fifth runner that Freddie’s caught this season and that ends a scoreless bottom of the second for it’s a stolen base for Isbell and he’s in scoring position. The first Royals baserunner to be in that spot so far tonight, Isbell leads from second three and two on India. Here the pitch and he swings and lines it toward the alley in right center that’s down for a hit over to cut it off. Is Langford here comes, is out there to score and the Royals are on the board. They’re down 2 to 1. So he is at first now that breaks an zero for 11 skid for Jonathan and it brings up Bobby and he swings and shoots it through in the left side for a base hit past the diving third base young India going first to third. He’s safe. Bobby. The trail runner gets into second base. The Royals have but 2nd and 3rd and 1 down. So the Royals now with 2nd and 3rd 1 out Michael Garcia who has the best Royals batting average in this situation, runners in scoring position, swing and a shot deep left center field. Haggerty going back. Haggerty looks up. He’s, it’s a three run homer into the Texas bullpen. Michael Garcia comes through again and the Royals take a 4 to 2 lead on a three run bomb from Michael Garcia his eighth of the year with two minutes scoring position. Garcia comes through heading into the bottom of the fourth. Josh Young Jake Berger and kyle Higashioka will bat against chris has allowed hits in all three innings. A total of five allowed young swings and blasts into deep right center field headed up the alley and that ball is off the wall on one up, barehanded out there by ISB on the track and josh scoots to second base with an opposite field double. Usually a good sign when a guy is using the whole field and josh Young does it there. It’s the sixth ranger hit. It brings up jake Berger as the tying run in this 4 to 2 game. The Rangers as you know, have had a rough time lately with men in scoring position. They went one for seven yesterday, two for four. So far tonight shoots that pass first base again, headed into that right field corner. Young scores easily from second Berger with the RB I double and it’s back to a one run game and Kansas City’s lead is cut to 4 to 3 as the Rangers are starting to hit the ball the opposite way. He’s got five Ks now tonight and he struck out Seager and Simon back to back in the bottom of the fifth. So he’s going right through the teeth of the Rangers lineup. First Seeger. Then now he tangles with Adolis Garcia drilled up the middle of the line drive base hit he’s glove deep in the alley by is Bell and garcia is heading for second to throw. Not in time. A hustling double as a dives in head first and slaps his hands together three times to celebrate. Tying run is in scoring position with two outs for Josh Young, no balls. Two strikes on Young. The pitch swung on a strike, three change up down and away pulls the string again, three strikeouts and is scoreless bottom of the fifth inning. So a tying run 90 ft away, the go ahead run at first here, Adolis garcia, the batter working on a two for three night , Irsay with his off speed repertoire does get a few ground balls and he could certainly use a double play ball here and he knows it. Now, the pitch and a swing and a ground could be two Bobby the second one to first for two. The first ground ball double play turned behind Lucas. Ursi could not have come at a better time. What a job by Ursin to keep the lead two balls. No strikes on Michael garcia with the runner on second and nobody out and the Royals can get an insurance run here in the eighth leading 4 to 3. Garcia chops it down the first baseline up the chalk win rounds third. He’s in his score standing. Michael garcia glides to second. He takes the turn and heads for third throw comes back in toward first. Michael Garcia has his fourth RB I in the game and the Royals lead 5 to 3 in the top of the eighth inning. What a night for Michael garcia making his all star case loud and clear. Salvador Perez is intentionally walked. So he’s now over to first base and that means that John Raves steps to the plate to face a lefty in Hobie Millner. Here’s the pitch. Rave squares drops the bunt down first base side Millner backhand glove, shovel home balls out of the garcia stops on home plate. He’s safe. John Rave brings in Garcia and the Royals lead 6 to 3 in the top of the eighth inning and the Royals have a 6 to 3 lead over the Rangers. Carlos Est-vez takes the mound in a save situation. He’s got 19 saves and 22 tries this year. Now, an out away from his 20th save of the season Seeger pops it up left side of the infield. Mi garcia crosses into foul ground, he’s under it. He makes the catch and the Royals take game two from the Rangers 6 to 3. The Royals have won back to back ball games for the first time in almost a month. And Michael Garcia leads the way.

Maikel Garcia stays hot with a 3-hit, 4-RBI night, including a 3-run, 407′ blast.

  1. Now if the coaches will just get these young players improving.I mean why are we putting canha in rightfield really. I hate it when coaches lose their job.But this is one of the poorest seasons Position coaching i've seen with the talent they have.
