Pirates vs. Tigers Game Highlights (6/19/25) | MLB Highlights

You check in and it seems like that guy is pretty much seven scoreless eight punch and it’s like clockwork for him. It’ll be fun to watch. I don’t know if it’ll be fun to hit, but it’ll be fun to watch just as a fan of the game for sure. 29 years ago, Tyler Holton was born and he was born for this sort of situation to be the opener to face the left hander o’neil Cruz right out of the gate one and two. Holton there for strike three. He totally handcuffed o’neill Cruz one down Mccutchen swinging ground ball deep in the hole is short, knocked down by Sweeney came up and hit him in the face and Mccutchen is safe. It’ll be a base hit. He had two in game one and he’s added to his total already swinging a soft ground ball and a high chop to second. Torres will flip down the second one and Sweeney back to first beautifully turned 463, double play and a high chopper did not expect that to be a double play ball, but Torres and Sweeney turn it neatly sins coming off of the last seven starts. Really? I mean, what more can he do? And a bounder to Gonzalez, that’s the first out swing and a miss struck him out, I guess that was a high sweeper high and away right on the edge. And the pitch swinging a shattered bat, slow ground ball to the shortstop and kind of will get on the first and the innings over 10 pitches for through one, no score. Second inning coming up in Detroit here in game two were scoreless. Nick Gonzalez, swing fly ball deep field. Nick Gonzalez gets into this one. A long home run to left. Nick Gonzalez gives the Pirates a one nothing lead. Just the second home run on this road trip for the Pirates. And that’s a big one. That is a big one with Paul Skeens on the mound that is important. Of course, keep in mind Gonzalez has missed most of the season right homered the first game of the season playing in only his 15th Pirates game this year and it’s a base hit for Adam Frazier one zero bucks here in the second inning. And now Jared Triolo zero for three with a walk in game one driven pretty deep to center field. Going back is Perez to the wall and clear the deck. Cannonball coming big tree hits his third two run homer. Three nothing Pirates. We thought that Gonzo hit his a long way. 412 ft is the fence and of course it went further that he cleared it. It is 30 Pittsburgh second inning. Riley Green leads off against Paul Skeens a swing and struck him out on an inside fastball. Second strikeout for Paul Skeens Telson waiting on the pitch check swing. He went, could not hold up on a down in a way change up. And that’s strikeout number 100 for the season. Here’s Mccutchen infield hit his first time up, tries one deep to left field and Andrew Mccutchen clears the deck his eighth of the season and that one gets in the seats on the fly. He homered off Montero here last year and he does it again. Game two of this double header Tigers looking for hit number one here in the home sprayed down the right field side by Raj into the corner. Here come the wheels into second that to get him on the board in the column. Rod gets him to a 32 count ball out over the plate. That’s how you go with it right there. Benetti, here’s a 22 out swing and a miss struck him out a breaking ball. Four strikeouts for skin. That’s the second walk for the Tigers. So two on with one out for Torres bounced right to short kind of of the second Gonzalez scooped by Hoit the next a double play. This guy, something else. We’re going to go to the fourth Pirates up for nothing. Paul schemes faces carry carpenter, 32 coming, comes back with the fastball and strikes him out after falling behind 20 and three and 12 coming swing and a miss struck him out on the sweeper sixth strikeout for ST trying to add to the pitch count here for who has been impeccable. Again. He’s another strikeout victim that is number seven for Paul schemes, ball four back to back walks. He is grounded out to second base and walked to two here on the ground past the mounted skes , letting it go throw to first is in time by Gonzalez. What we got here, he’s waving it off. He’s saying interference. There is no way. They’re going to say an out on Sweeney. Paul Skeens is yelling at an umpire. Don Kelly is out of the dugout. AJ Hinch is coming out of the dugout as well. Both managers want to talk to umpires here. Let’s see what we have here. We got to see what the call is. The runner can’t impede the fielder’s ability to make the play. The runner going from first to second, interfered with the fielder attempting to make a play on the ball. The ball is therefore dead the runners the first base. So Rogers at second swinging a line drive base hit in the left center off the bat of labor. Torres jake Rogers rounding third heading home. They’re waving Cole Keith home relay from the outfield offline two run double for glamor torres Keith slides in easily ahead of the throw from Ker FPA and a big , big call results in two runs for the Tigers as Gleyber Torres delivers just an absolutely crazy banana sin by Joey Cora. And I like it though. You’re gonna have to push the envelope. You got one of the best pitchers on the planet out there in the middle of the circle. Paul Skeens, he’ll enter the sixth at 88 pitches. Pirates are leading the Tigers 4 to 2. Nice work there gets green a second time on strikes. Eight punch outs really got aggressive. Went right after him immediately with Mckinstry zero for two today swing and a miss struck him out 99 on the outer edge. Nine strikeouts for that ties a season high and it will go to the seventh with the Pirates still in the lead 4 to 2 hall schemes is done. Isaac Matson is on the right hander who has not given up a hit in 28 consecutive at bats added up the middle. Nice stop Gonzalez to his feet. He got what? Play by Nicky G He did a fine job. He, he didn’t worry about throwing it on the, you know, on the fly, just make sure you have it online and if it’s gonna be bouncing in there, that’s fine guided in the air right field side. So Winski, he’s not going to get there. He’s on the warning track. Sweeney sways into second base with a one out double and that’s the first hit in about a month against Matson. Does the Tigers bring a potential tying run to the plate one out here for Colt 02. Colt hacks it in the air. Left field. Frasier’s back at the explosion. Ok. And we are, wow, where was that pitch? He just went up and to it. Colt didn’t even know it was fair off the bat. Watch him that balls at his chin. That’s ridiculous will be takes over on the mound in a 44 game. The go ahead run at second in Davis and two on for Oil Cruz zero for four today. But he lined out sharply his last time up two, two swing and a miss. It’s a slider, a sunny clone of a breaking ball from best two and two other gases full lead. That was straight lead gas. Well, it’s starting now. It’s coming down a bit now, Santana trying to get to the 10th swing, fly ball center playable for Cruz and make the catch one out. I think we got some umpires saying now, yeah, they’re gonna , chris Guccione is coming over and he said, don’t yell at me. I don’t know who he was talking to but he said, don’t yell at me. Chris Guccione is wearing out the Pirates dugout. Don Kelly is face to face with Guccione in the Pirates dugout. He’s trying to go through the tunnel. Rarely. Do you see this. I think Donny’s mad that they started at the innings. He’s got one of his best relievers out there throwing the rain delay is over Bednar is on and a swing and a miss struck him out 97 on the outer edge. This is Trey Sweeney with two outs and the bases clear and the ground ball right to second and Gonzalez flips it on to first. We’re going to go to extra innings tied at four pinch runner. Tommy Pham Hayes will pinch hit for Spencer Horowitz and there he does it base hit to right field. Rebelo going to wave home fam. Here comes the throw to the plate safe on a bang bang play and the Pirates take the lead 54. Give it a second. See if you want to challenge carry, carpenter’s throw. The question is, did the glove touch the left arm or not? I think the glove moves. I think the glove moves just saw it after on the field runner safe. You never see this off a replay from AJ Hinch. He is not happy. So base is full of bucko looking for more with Bart here to break it wide open, swinging a ground ball through base hit to left Hayes will come in to score. Gonzalez will be held. Joey Bart to pitch hit RB I single in the 10th at 6 to 4. Pirates don’t waste any time. Gets a fastball, turns it around two outs. Here comes Connor falefa with the bases, full ground ball base hit to left field. This will score two more. Take care of Pirates lead by four in the 10th inning. They led by four after three innings. Now they’re back on top 84 bucks , two ground balls right through the hole base, Tommy Pham is getting into it about a fan behind the plate with Guccione. I don’t know if it’s fans hitting the net is what he’s complaining about. It’s not about them yelling, tensions are high. David Bednar needs three outs to get himself a w with a fly ball. This should do it and raise the Jolly Roger a long day and night and it results in a split of the day, night, double header.
