Should the Phoenix Suns wait until the season starts to trade Kevin Durant?

should the Suns take a pause on this for a minute is is there any reason to take a pause on this for and I but by a pause I mean wait until after the draft free agency starts a team thought they were going to get player X Y or Z they didn’t and now they circle back and go okay on second thought we’ll give you this that and whatnot for Kevin is there any benefit just okay let’s pause on this for a minute can you imagine Kevin the longer you pause it and wait and wait and wait the more realistic it becomes that you start the season with Kevin Durant on your roster which they don’t want to do they tried to trade him without his knowledge you know going back to December and January going up to the deadline he was involved in trade talks he had to nyx it himself he wasn’t happy about it they all agreed that they would trade him this off season they all agreed we’re going to trade you if you get to a point now where you know again okay we’re I just I don’t listen my honest appeal I’m an addition by subtraction guy i always have been i don’t think the Suns could fully restart the reset until Beal and KD are gone okay i think Beal and KD need to be gone addition by subtraction um I can’t fathom what it would be like and look Kevin Durant’s a great player he’s going to be the best player in the deal he’s Kevin freaking Durant he’s going to be the best player in the deal you just got to make the best deal you can and sometimes you know you’re selling something and you want to get $200 for it and the best you could get is $100 for it you take it 50 cents on the dollar you may not get great value but you’ve got to make it but you don’t want to make a bad deal i don’t want to take on bad contracts that are going to handcuff me for years but I need to get some I need to get back some draft picks i need to get back some young capital and I’ve got to start over and that I think is the fine line the Phoenix Suns are walking right now like the what exactly what you just described a second ago like you don’t and and that’s probably I’m just going to guess here probably why a lot of these teams have been hesitant to throw in that one last thing that the Phoenix Suns won right because they probably suspect at the end of the day look you can’t bring him back you can’t i know it you know it everybody Kevin knows it everybody knows it you can’t bring him back so at the end of the day you’re more desperate than we are all right as much as you want to make me the Houston Rockets feel like I’m the desperate one here the Miami Heat’s the desperate one we think you’re the desperate one we think you’re the one who recognizes at the end of the day you can’t bring him back at all and that’s and it’s if you’re using the desperation meter the Suns might come across as the most desperate of the party because everybody knows what’s your option you’re going to bring him back i got an example okay josh Rosen we’ll just We’ll just keep him oh god it was It was Oh we If we don’t get a good draft pick we’ll keep him no disrespect but an early second no disrespect at all but it was one of the biggest lies we’ll just keep said it was like when Steve K there with a straight oh no we’ll just keep him we’ll keep him no no you’re not going to keep him we want they wanted a late first or early second round pick for Josh Rose and they ended up getting a late second from Miami and it was like Miami’s like third pick of the second round if I’m not mistaken right i believe you’re correct i think it was like their last pick of the second round yeah and as they finally try they didn’t get anything near what they wanted from him not even close they were hoping for a late first or an early second they got Miami’s third second round pick if I’m not my memory if my memor is right third second round pick at the end of the second round which turned into the uh the receiver right you’re gonna make me look this up right i think yeah and I sometimes my memory is good and sometimes it’s not good i think Miami had three second round picks that year and they ended up getting giving their last one for Josh Rosen but again to the point where you look it up Steve Kim was out of it we’ll just we that’s what he said he didn’t mean it we’ll just keep him we’ll just keep Josh Rosen now I know we drafted Kyler Murray number one overall we’ll keep Rosen we’ll have two quarterbacks and it was like okay he tried to then nobody wanted him nobody wanted to trade you anything good for him finally Miami did finally Miami made the trade i’m looking I’m Okay I’m I’m struggling to find it here but that was the um that was Andy right and Isabella was the player that got in that trade yeah from Miami lauren’s nodding her head okay yeah so it but I’m I’m struggling to find out whether that was their third second round pick but I I think you’re right either way you’re absolutely correct and that’s and that’s where the Suns these teams that are holding back that one last thing the Suns are want that they probably believe that that’s why when was it Windor earlier in the week he was the one who said you know the Suns well here it is I got it right here uh on when he was on ESPN Cleveland on Tuesday Brian Windhorse the Suns could be faced with bringing Kevin Durant back it’s a real staredown you know Desmond Bane got traded for four first round picks and I see people saying oh my god if Desmond Bane gets traded for four first round picks Evan Durant’s got to be get you got to get six first round picks no you’re not going to get that great of a package because the team paying for it isn’t sure what Durant’s going to do necessarily and the teams that Durant wants to go to Houston and San Antonio for example they’re lerary of give paying a huge amount for a 37y old their whole teams are in their early to mid20s right you know so you don’t have alignment in making everybody getting on the same page you know what Durant wants what the Suns need what the teams want to pay right with the contract i would not rule out the Suns not being able to get a trade they like and having to make a decision like do we not trade him at all okay now okay so that’s interesting in listening to that cut again what he’s actually saying is I would not rule out the Suns not being able to get a deal that they don’t like and then they would have be faced with that decision do we keep him so he’s not he’s not he’s kind of suggesting they would keep them but what he’s more suggesting is that they look at it and go “Oh god we don’t really like these deals at all what are we supposed to do here are we supposed to take a deal that we don’t like or are we supposed to bring him back?” And I think these teams That’s a good question so what do you do what do you I do you bring him back i don’t again This is where the teams are like looking at Steve Kim like the Miami Dolphins were back in the 2019 draft you can’t keep him you can’t keep him we know you can’t keep them we know you can’t keep them you know you can’t keep them your fan base our fan base everybody knows you’re not going to keep them and I I think ultimately the Suns will lose that staredown they will and they’ll end up taking a deal it’s probably lesser than what they want and it’s going to be tougher to sell as long as it doesn’t bring back him back yeah i like I can make I can make an argument if they end up with Jabari Smith that they got they got something of value back i can make an I don’t like the Toronto trade at all um if they get wear from Miami i’m not the biggest wear fan but you can make the argument the kid’s got a ceiling and upside and he’s young and he’s tall and he’s you know he did fall like 15th in the draft and but you can make an argument that you have something you might be able to build build with Vel good player i can make an argument you got a good player back if you make that if if you get him in a deal now is it enough no it’s not going to be enough yeah but can you can you say we’ve got back a good piece that we like that we could use or trade down the road i I think they’ll be able to do that thanks for watching Burns and 1. I would hope the Suns are smart people to understand there is a reason you haven't traded KD yet because what you want your just not gonna get 😂

  2. That’s your opinion bring him back because you ain’t getting worth is value unless you are dumb enough to take nothing for him that’s stupid 😂

  3. i would consider it if KD didnt have one year left on his contract. the longer you wait the less you will get. i agree you cant take back bad contracts but you must get something. he walks for nothing at the end of the season. playing chicken with a car is dumb. know when to play them know when to fold them.

  4. Slowly coming to the realization the preferred teams had over a week ago. MIA HOU and especially SA knew this is where it was always going to lead. MIA out of the three is the most desperate to get someone like kd but they’re usually cheap. They’re always in talks for a star and always fail to get them. The rockets are never going to up their offer because they own the suns future so they benefit from the suns being bad.The spurs are in no rush to plunge for someone as old as kd. They’ll take him if he doesn’t hurt their plans but if it requires them to move stuff they have plans for the future for they’re not doing it. All those rumored packages from the raptors and wolves are only there if kd extends so kd holds all the leverage there and he’s saying he’s not extending so those teams are not going to trade all that for a rental. The suns are in a bad spot they have no leverage Durant and the teams he has preferred hold the leverage. The suns either take what they can or hope that an outside team that at the least want to free up salary and stay away from the apron trade for him as an expiring more so than a them wanting him as a player and again that means a bad package and likely bad contracts. The suns might be in the worst spot any NBA franchise has ever been in. The only thing good about the suns is booker. Even Beal they don’t want but have no choice but to keep him.

  5. I can't stand these 2. . They just talk trash. You think Pat Riley would put up with what that prick Popovich or Houston were trying to low ball the suns with? These 2 clowns are the absolute worst sports talk show jockeys. Idiots. Oh we can't start the reset until we get rid of a guy who was our best player last year.

If the suns keep Durant Houston won't have an offensive go-to guy next year just like last year. They're not going where they want to go and San Antonio remains a rebuild team. It doesn't hurt the suns at all to keep Durant and not give them what they want and need. See what those pricks do without Durant. Gumbo and Mr Burns would run this team into the ground so it could re locate to Vegas.

And as far as Durant is concerned if he doesn't decide to play his ass off next year if the suns keep him then there will be no big contract extension for him that he wants. And after he plays this year and leaves they have his 50 million to get 3 young players they want. Where do the suns lose in keeping him?

Hey Houston and Sam Antonio enjoy staying at the status quo next year. Were keeping your guy that you want and need. Gumbo and Mr Burns need to get another job.

  6. Absolutely not. He’s older and the potential for injury is still there, plus we don’t get any picks for the upcoming draft so it essentially delays our rebuild.

  7. Sometimes burnesy is clueless! NO its NOT going to come down to another team basically saying take it or leave it because they know they can't bring him back! NO its NOT like the Josh Rosen trade for the cards! WHY? Because miami was the only team wanting to trade for Rosen! A team (spurs for example) can say take it or leave it sure, but then the suns say ok your not getting KD! And WHY does that matter Burnesy? It matters because MULTIPLE TEAMS WANT KD! I'll repeat for Burnesy in case he missed it, MULTIPLE TEAMS WANT KD! It does NOT MATTER if teams know they aren't keeping KD because their not calling a bluff, their not backing the suns into a corner, their not bidding against themselves vs the suns keeping KD! Their bidding against MULTIPLE OTHER TEAMS THAT WANT KD! So get OUTTA HERE WITH YOUR TRASH TAKE BURNES! Do better man! Its your job to DO BETTER and not have such a HORRENDOUS TAKE thats completely illogical!!! Time to WAKE UP!!!

  8. I told you to trade him last deadline.
I also am now saying if you actually want to rebuild trade booker.
The sun's are 4-7 seasons from actually competing for w championship.
Booker is 29 and who knows how good booker will be at 33-35
