[Music] hey welcome to Cubs baseball here on Marquee Sports Network coming up this afternoon it’s the Cubs and the Brewers as we wrap up this series cubs right now with the best record in the National League and they lead in the Central at 6 and a half over both the Reds and these Milwaukee Brewers cubs and Brewers back here at Wrigley this afternoon as we wrap up this series jameson Tyion on the mound the results have been good of late he’s having a very nice year one of only 16 pitchers with 10 or more quality starts this year throws first pitch strikes almost all the time 70% last five he’s just at 17% of the time highf fly ball shallow right field tucker is there and Freick retired brewers lineup is brought to you by Ford here’s what their manager Pat Murphy has put together they are eighth in the NL 14th in the majors in runs per game felic Cheurio at Yelich Contrarus Terra Hoskins Collins Durban and Ortiz but a secondyear manager 66 years old tipping off that outside edge see if he can get a chase hey racing line left field that one curling and half over to pick it up racing for second is Cheurio throw there is too late and it’s a double hey line drive and that’s a base hit into right field tucker over to pick it up and quickly fired in churiel comes in to score as Yelich chases home Jackson Cheerio and it’s one- nothing [Applause] it’s just a challenge fast ball out over the plate and high and Yell jumps all over on the ground at third shaw picks it up to Nico for one and that’s two craig Council’s lineup brought to you by Benny’s Beverage Depot if you can’t find it at Benny’s it’s probably not worth drinking that group is second in the majors in runs per game half Tucker Suzuki PCA Swanson Ed Bush Kelly her Shaw [Music] the 29-year-old right-hander Freddy Peraltto for the Brewers here this afternoon he’s having a very fine season 15 starts a 2.60 erra fifth best in the National League seen a lot of him for his career ditch counts missing inside a change up again and there’s a walk that is hammered right field that’s back on it way yeah [Applause] Pete Crow Armstrong does it again and in the bottom of the first it is 21 he got on top of a heater and turned it around it’s just his world we’re living in it unbelievable stuff from Armstrong this home run replay is brought to you by Toyota the official vehicle of the Chicago Cubs talk about the need to get the ball down against Peralta well maybe not it could be wrong from any position high fly ball left field this should be trouble pack is back and it’s gone well Hoskins got the slider and got out front and we’re tied 22 hoskins uh got off to a great start this year has been struggling lately home run number 11 for him and the 17th home run that JMO has allowed this year a little bit of a hanging slider or sweeper just doesn’t walk so many solos dc back and that one is gone and Durban will touch them all and the ball flying here at Wrigley it is 42 Brewers [Applause] it’s a home run with somebody on base and really fighting it with his location again in that breaking ball just hovers right there in the middle of the plate and Durban not a big man but he leaned on it was a 57 and a breaking ball in there Kelly is gone and there’s two away his last rehab start to the right side terrain collects second baseman throws out the [Applause] on the ground up the middle and a base hit for Yelich he’s two for two cheerio not stopping on his way to third and they’re at the corner so Tyion at least thus far has not been a mystery to the Brewers that one laced up the middle and a base hit contrarus an RBI single three straight hits and it’s 52 Milwaukee i asked Greg Council the other day and I I said you know I don’t know the the number i don’t know if it’s something we could really look up there’s fast ball that Contras jumps all over i said it seems to me that the days of a three and a third inning start for a starting pitcher are gone deeper in the games by any stretch in the air left field has to slide in makes the catch fires to second with Yich back in nice play by Ian Hat more solid contact though from River [Applause] [Music] not happy not content with just one he’s going to take a shot at second base as well pay off pitch swing and a miss struck him out get the slug in the corner this one up outside corner oh no i just walked right into that didn’t I h didn’t like it from Adam Beck yeah Adams been a little off his game back there this afternoon yeah that missed slow curve foul tipped into the mid of Contraras struck him out program outside corner chyon rings him up jamo probably right now thinking why am I throwing those pitches over the plate if I can get this one called and Beck very big open Beck is big today check swing and a little flare into left hat coming on and Ian makes the catch throw back to first and Ortiz gets back in time nice play by Ian get a good jump on it [Applause] this slide is brought to you by Wisconsin Dells playing your getaway dells.com here comes Ian Hap can’t let that fall for a hit seiya swings through it it’s a strike out and he’s gone swing and a miss pete Pro Armstrong down on strikes that’s four straight strikeouts for Baralta yeah uh Freddy’s feeling it right now back door slider or something something funky he hits that fast ball left field on its way out of here he turns around the heater and the Cubs get a run back he had count leverage got a fast ball to his liking at 96 mph over the heart of the plate he pumps it into the bleachers for his 14th long ball and this home run is brought to you by Hefty hefty Hefty ultra strong ultra low price jumped on some of that Wisconsin cheddar the Brewers hit it on the ground a lot in the air out towards right center keep Armstrong on the move and it’ll fall between he and Tucker terraang into second with a double that time he got it in the air [Applause] fly ball left field that’s back that’s on its way that’s gone this guy homered here today and the Brewers have an 83 lead [Applause] hanging curveball oh man that is right there right in the heart of the zone [Applause] [Music] four home runs on the year two coming in this series that is in there see you later cheerio gone [Applause] the old dipsy doodle the hookeroo big breaking ball good curb and he gets the strike out four and the strikeout rate has actually gone down oh good by Ortiz and he steals a hit from Seiya magnificent play by Joey Ortiz up the middle and Suzuki retired yeah he has proven to be a plus defender at the shortstop position for the Brewers this year this is just spectacular lays out gets to his feet in a hurry good strong throw a tough break for Suzuki that one ticketed for a leadoff single i was like I thought you were locked in on the bet you never made throw down to second got it delayed steel and Kelly was ready for it pat Murphy what do you say he kind of goes with the council cancel too let’s see he’s got this yeah there you go on every line drive base hit left field carson Kelly with a leadoff single notice the guy that makes a big play defensively gets the lead off the end shopped up the middle ortiz goes to second for one return to first two i don’t think so i don’t think so i think one but not two [Applause] i think we’re going to the ears yeah let’s go to the ears oh the first is out chicago challenge dan Ason Sonia is the crew chief and has the call they’re taking a second look a second opinion is always a good idea get yours at Northwestern Medicine [Music] [Applause] yeah you clearly say organist playing I can see clearly now by Johnny Nash after [Music] call fields overturn [Applause] two-1 to half fly ball center field back some more looking out of here in half two run over that comes with three they’re not done yet third long ball of the air for the Cubs [Applause] five hits today three of them have left the park for Ian it’s number eight [Applause] continue to be impressed by his work from the right side of the plate this year [Applause] [Music] patterson on that list sosa did it twice ryan Samberg or Sosa did it four times ryan Sandberg did it three times [Applause] pitch hit deep yeah he’s being awarded first base here here it comes and that is ball four maybe some of the lobbing dance we did earlier in that sequence paid off there adam Beck has called the high strike all day long this time freezes on that one and Danby gets his walk they all pitch and roll forward they are loaded oh what a great take by Michael Bush high anxiety moment able to lay off that chase slider and accept his walk a 10 on the ground towards the hole ortiz has it to second for one and that’s all they get run comes in to score and it’s 86 [Music] that one towards the hole diving play ortiz not going to get anyone run in it’s a oneun game [Music] infield single and comes through turned a hit batter two walks and a couple ground balls to the shortstop into two runs here in the eight another real nice play by Ortiz but there’s no play to be made rebe [Applause] popped up right side and Terra makes the catch cubs pick up two they’re within a run will add the to the other guys out there and gives you the shot as Swanson goes out danville almost comes up with a spectacular play and Freelick is aboard for the first time yeah boy what an effort by Danby that might have been the play of the year had he been able to haul this one in great effort just off the end of his the end of his glove there wow it’s the third big top Shaw collects and it’s safe at first is Cheurio there goes the runner that one is in there got him so a strike out and on the plate cheerio to second morance ready two aboard struck him out brewers lead two it’s a one-run game will go to the bottom of the ninth in the top of the order two up for the Cubs hat Tucker Suzuki payoff pitch too low ball four oh baby [Music] [Applause] dug out is not happy with that effect this is in keeping with what we’ve seen from Beto most of the day big up not so much with the ball down with his zone [Applause] and he struck him out he overwhelmed him with the fast and Tucker is gone three and two pitch to Sea on the ground that’s the third they get it out it’s on to first and a double play and that ends the game and PCA left standing in the on deck circle yeah ouch a tough way to end it

  1. Genesis is a new Merryweather. He has no place in this bullpen. And we need to reshuffle this batting order, how on earth can Happ bat first and Hoerner 8th??

  2. Ortiz saved the game for the Brewers. If Nico gets that ball to the outfield, Cubs score 2 and the game is tied. Good game from everyone except Taillon. He's had much better outings.
