  1. No brainer signing. Will be a great replacement for Lowry until he’s healthy and then we’ll see where it goes from there.

  2. Not sure how it’ll work out, but a three time cup champ captain, possible HOFer, signing a last dance contract with his hometown team would be pretty interesting

  3. Toews has a big ego. He’s not coming back if he doesn’t feel as if he can be a difference maker, it would ruin his legacy to return only to be a poor player in his twilight years. I think he will be decent, not amazing, but regardless i’m excited

  4. stack it full of performance bonuses ! Like an extra million for 60% in the face off dot! Lol

  5. Well, it’s been a good run being a Jets fan and hockey fan. But I’m officially out.

  6. I like this.

High rewards, low risk. Brings major playoff experience to the locker room, hometown former A+ player. Just hope he survives the season.

  7. Even if he’s not at the same level as before his experience and leadership he’ll bring is priceless. Imagine what Yager can learn from a guy like Toews. Even Lowry will benefit and hopefully he can help Shiefs with face offs

  8. Worst kept secret finally becomes official.

I have 0 expectations for this. To me, best case scenario is he is a solid 4th line C that kills some penalties and maybe contributes to PP2. Anything more than that and I’ll be pleasently surprised.

Nice addition either way. Just really hope that they don’t have him penciled in as a 2C

  9. Not surprising, lets hope long covid isnt effecting him as much anymore and he is a solid 3rd line center

  10. Realistically, I think he’s going to be on the 4th line is that where everyone else is?

  11. Hoping the Indian witch doctor has revived him to prime Toews levels 😂.

  12. I’m more optimistic then most, now I don’t think he’ll be like groundbreaking amazing or anything. But if they get him for a nice price, then I think he’s worth giving a shot and is still an upgrade from Vlady if they put him as the 2C
