I am not opposed to this at all. He is still young and has room to grow. I wonder what the cost would be. I doubt Chinakov and some prospects or picks would do it given the Sabres want to make the playoffs themselves.

>However, the Sabres are not interested in acquiring future assets for either Peterka or Byram and are trying to replace them with other assets that can help the team push for the post-season next season.
Like you stated, op. Big question would be — who would Waddell give to get him into a CBJ uniform.? But with Adam’s track record on losing the trades he makes — maybe we’ll see some magic.
I don’t see how they get what they want unless some team is trying to offload an RHD. But there will be 10 teams swarming any team trying to trade an RHD.
I doubt anyone is trading a better winger back for Peterka… would basically need a ppg player. Sure he has potential to grow some but he is also 23. Maybe they are planning to package picks with him, but then they would need to look to a rebuilding team and find someone without a NTC.
Seems like an uphill battle for them to improve by trading Peterka.
Severson and Chinakhov for JJ!! lol
Who is realistically expendable that another team would legit want?
Chinny, if he can get his health sorted out.
Vronk, everyone loves big dudes with even an ounce of skill.
Sillinger, if Lindstrom is legit, Cole or Cayden ain’t playing on the fourth line, and he hasn’t cracked 33 points in 4 seasons. In fact, he has 31, 11, 32, 33. Maybe he’s just an early bloomer with a high floor but low ceiling, question needs to be asked.
Boone, only one year left, DW didn’t draft him. Question needs to be asked. JJ is nearly a decade younger and fits our timeline much better.
Severson, only if we retain and sweeten, but Buffalo needs a vet right shot D, so not crazy to throw it out.
CBJ in a trade where the other party is Buffalo? Sign me up!
Brain storming here but, I think a trade would have to look something like this… two of these three: Luca Del Bel Belluz, Yegor Chinakhov or Cole Sillinger plus a first round pick (14). Thoughts?
