Rockies vs. Nationals Game Highlights (6/19/25) | MLB Highlights
The trying to get out of this 11 game thing that’s going on Rockies still second from the bottom in the league in batting average and in runs trying to win their fifth consecutive game overall. So a couple of all clubs going in opposite directions, Trevor Williams has a career winning record three and two against Colorado 15 start this year coming up three straight losses in his last three decisions. But Then that’s the one from Seattle where he had the awesome six inning game, three hits and two strikeouts in that you’re looking for a lot of things down here today. It’s number one, keep it in the ballpark. Jordan Beck is up, Beckett 264 Jacob Young about 15 ft to the right center gap. There’s a big sweeper for that first game strikeout number 53 as Trevor works in inning. Number 70 Micky moniak, a left handed batter digs in. He’s a right fielder today the pitch and there’s Trevor Williams, he’s got another pitcher, another hitter bending the knees and lunging and Jacob Young there for the second out on Mickey Moniak. Here’s the catcher Hunter Goodman back in the lineup. He got last night off. Oh my, that was taking the sweeper and setting the switch on slow Trevor Williams. A 123 top of the first with a pair of strikeouts. Bottom of the first inning. No score chase Doland are going to work CJ on a good run. Nine games hitting 353 and a two hopper out to their shortstop rigger who drops it and that’ll be his first error ball was hard hit, but it looked like a fairly simple play CJ getting after it fighting down the line beating it nice job. And James Wood smelling blood early up there hacking. So a couple of disengagements runner goes and wood will drive it to right. He finds the ball but it’s going to be too late. It be lined at moniak for a 93 double play. Give a little credit there to Ryan Ritter. He decoyed the runner big time, acted like the throw is coming to second base and, and Abrams did not let up and it was easily doubled up. Garcia had a walk as a pinch hitter earlier this series last seven games with at bat. He has a hit in all of them. Garcia pops it up left side, foul ground. Ryan mcminn is there and that’s what chase do Lander wanted a quick first inning. No score. After one, two down, Williams has retired five straight to start his outing today. Five outs here and 19 pitches. That’s what you want Doyle, they give this brilliant center fielder the day off defensively , but he DH and Breton’s had a rough ride over 13 against the Nets in on the hands and to the left side, Abrams great range and left himself plenty of time for that thrower Williams two consecutive 123 innings inning and a half done Nationals. Nothing rockies, nothing out of the third. Here’s Sam Hilliard’s going to show bunt what a perfect he’s going to drop a base hit down the third base line. Nothing Williams or House could do. Here’s ryan Ritter, the shortstop count 0 to 2 with a runner at first going the way outside throw by Ruiz on one hop tag by Garcia and he’s out now pitch on the way Ritter swings and misses at the fastball and he’s down on strikes just like that. The inning is over two away in the Rockies. Fourth and hunter Goodman will be the hitter and there’s a line drive into left center field for a hit for hunter Goodman Young got it back in quickly, but this fourth inning stays alive at number two for the Rockies on the day and ryan Mcmahon will try to keep it going. There’s a line drive to right center field, it’s going to drop for a hit. Young over to cut it off. Goodman’s motoring to third ryan Mcmahon with a base hit gives the Rockies their first scoring opportunity of the day with two down good enough to get it out there and get that man to third and keep this inning going. It will be Michael to Michael has come up big in the clutch in the first three games since his return and the Rockies looking for some two out lightning here , there were two outs. Nobody aboard had to load them up. Bases loaded for Brenon Doyle Goodman at third Mcmahon at second totally at first two outs in a scoreless game hard hit right to Brady House. He will race to the bag for the unassisted put out and the inning over the play by Brady House as he beats the runner moniak. So the Rockies, they end up leaving the bases loaded. He is a leadoff baserunner for the Nats here in the bottom of inning. Number four and look at the contact on this one deep left center C you de RB I 53 in 54. Nothing like a backside. James Wood homer at 110 heads up in the red porch opposite field two run homer for James Wood to get the nationals on the board, the nationals two and the Rockies and Orlando Arcia has a one out hit and they got this one and Then the ball gets away. That will be a throwing error on garcia its two backs, they direct him to third. So ryan Ritter lines out going to third is on the throwing error. Rockies will try and take advantage of that MICU they’re down a couple of runs. Jordan two strikeouts, third opportunity against Trevor Williams two. This ball lined to the corner and left, bring home the Rockies first run Arcia scores be heading to second with an RB I double and maybe that’s why this one, he gets it inside. Left shoulder did fly out, but it’s also mislocate from Trevor Williams point of view. He probably wanted that pitch more away. Rockies will take it. I think he comes through here. Rockies get even again and there’s another base hit back around third up with the baseballs Lyle his throw not nearly a time cut off and the Rockies are all even a two out rally clutch hits from back and moniak clears the hips gets the hat out. Takes advantage of 3.5 hole. Jordan doing a good job cut third base taking that direct line to home. There’s no play but the Rockies have tied things at two. Ryan Mcmahon one for two today. Base hit to right last time and this is a leadoff single for Mcmahon. So third time through the Rockies are three for four, do try to hit the ball straight up and the 11 and this ball hit well to center field and Young can’t make the catch here off the wall Mcmahon to third gets a stop sign Bretton Doyle with a one out double and here comes dave Martinez. So Cole Henry is going to be so the Rockies trying to take the lead with one out here in the sixth. He gets Sam Hilliard here who can really run one ball, two strikes badly needed was the strikeout and Cole Henry got it strikeout situation. Little pop ups trying to get that top of the zone. Garcia, a base hit up the middle last time if Henry can keep it tight top of the order due up, but with Doyle and Mcmahon 2nd and 3rd work to be done, swing sort of in a big miss. And after the two hits, runners left 2nd and 3rd, middle of the sixth, still tied. So Abrams on base for the third time, reached on an error now has singled twice. Here’s James Wood, double play. Remember that one, James Wood hit a missile. This is reminiscent of the ball that Brady House hit to the other corner last night 94 by an hour off the bat and nothing CJ. Abrams can do on this one either. He’s been double off twice today despite two hits in the sixth inning, still tied at two, a huge opportunity right here that zack Briggs, he’s getting an opportunity to come here in the 10th inning on base. See what you can do. 11 for 11 straining runners this year. They’re going to need something from hunter Goodman. Two outs Ritter at second top of the 10th. All set. Here’s a 3 to 0 and it’s inside , it’s ball fourth, it’s a walk 1st and 2nd for the Rockies. Now, ryan Mcmahon strolls up a swing and a Miss Zack Ricky with a scoreless inning giving the Nationals chance to try to come up with their fourth walk off win of the year. We play on in the 11th inning. Ryan Ludus who worked a scoreless top of the ninth inning last night will come on again. Now for the nationals runner at second Ryan Mcmahon and the batter Michael to this ball lied to center field back, had to see it down and he’s going to get a green light here. He comes to the plate. He’ll score standing up. Michael Togia coming through and it’s 3 to 2. Colorado. Let’s go. Big Mike. Now Mcmahon, he picks up Andy Gonzalez early and Andy’s leading him hard. The Rockies have taken the lead. We go to the bottom of the 11th. It all comes down to James Wood. James Wood high in the air, deep , center stretch ball C U four. Face the franchise moment. Yes, sir. The impact time is 6.36 seconds and he knew it. There’s the emotion, we love it. James Wood. This is the James Wood game. It’s James Wood for the Rockies three. He accounts for all the runs with 22 run homers, the one in the fourth inning and his first career walk off homer in the 11th

James Wood is the only player on the Nationals that deserves to be awarded with a win. Drove in all four runs on two dingers while the rest of the lineup did next to nothing to help beat the worst team in MLB.
Should have walked Woods!!!! Set up the force out!
