Yes it wasn't a packed sell out stadium but probably more than they get at any A's game. They only sold tickets in the lower level and did very well considering the budget they were on. The vibes were great all week. I haven't seen this kind of joy or excitement at the Coliseum in a while. If you give fans what they want they will show up. Hope cricket will stay in Oakland. FJF

Fans will show up and bring enthusiasm if you give them something to cheer for at the Coliseum. It was like this all game. More proof that Fisher is the problem.

  1. From my time living in the Bay Area, there was always a large south-asian community which may explain the large crowd. Aside from the pleasant climate, one thing I miss the most about the Bay Area was the diversity of the population, and the people I met from India were always keen to talk about football (Premier League) and Cricket (IPL). As a lifelong A’s fan, this makes me happy to see the Coliseum is still the site of a cheerful crowd.

  2. I get it but you look this up, the A’s had to win 95 games to get the same turnout a team like the brewers get while having an average season. That wasn’t always the case but post 2001 ,the stadium really started to show its age, that’s the first year I cancelled my season tickets, in Moneyball when Billy Beane says “this place is a dump” he’s talking about early 2002 Coliseum. 23 years later… where is written that one team has to be this underdog scrappy team forever? At some point when teams started to be worth south of a Billion smaller markets realized they had to do more to keep their teams.
