solano Young and Williamson for a team that is fifth in the American League in runs per game tied for 12th in all of baseball and away we go as Horton delivers high for ball one underway here at Wrigley here it comes on the ground her takes it in and Nico will throw out Crawford one away yeah that’s that’s a money maker 3-2 upstairs inside and Rodriguez will take his base this one appeared to catch the top of the zone on the inside corner scott quick feet and a nice move [Applause] and Wilson says we will not challenge and a quick feat indeed talked about the athleticism of Kate Horton who’s a third baseman at Oklahoma an outstanding quarterback it’s an easy call for Edwin Muscoso down there at first and a swing and a miss and Horton faces the minimum in the first back at Wrigley towards second base he’s got a long way to go he finds Ian figures Ian’s got the best shot at it haps got eyes on Dansby and if it was quote unquote anybody’s ball it was would have been Haps the one on the ground to third bruhan backand coming home and they’ve got a Rosarena hung up ruhan sprints at him puts the tag on him horton deals up the middle swanson waits tap second over to first and Horton good meeting tommy Hottie gets out of it to one over there this year line drive base hit left field that one’s going to get all the way to the wall racing for third is Bush quinton Barry will hold him up carson Kelly into second it’s a double second and third nobody out [Applause] chopped up the middle crawford collects and her is out run comes in to score 3-2 and Bruhan will take his base syrup Makers highf fly ball center field rodriguez back at the track at the wall out of here’s done it again threeun blast and the Cubs have opened up a 61 lead second of the day i say again somebody might get three here today ian Half well on his way second inning second play appearance second long ball for Half this time he goes big part of the yard and this yard is playing really small this afternoon watch it fly hey I think that’s in the Yeti yard he’s going to be able to the 22 do a lot more damage going forward highf fly ball center field pete Crow Armstrong fighting it fighting it and it falls that’s what kind of day it’s been the sun and the wind and just having a really hard time second time it’s happened yeah watch the ivy in in the background you get a sense of what the wind is doing you see PCA changing directions he can’t see the baseball can’t find it and watch look at the ivy so now with two outs it’s Raleigh lines a one hopper flag down by BCH porton over gorgeous play michael Bush steals a hit from Cal Raleigh and a run from the Mariners beautiful [Music] reaching and he pokes that one down the left side and it falls for a hit pca around first and into second a little blue double lesson of the day continues three and0 ball four to a two drilled right field that one curling that one gone michael Bush gets one out of here it’s a three-run homer and it is all comes into the basket bush’s got a dozen and it is 91 fourth home run of the day already for the Cubs we’re only in the third inning two for Ian half kyle Tucker and now Michael Bush and like Ian’s second one this a three-run shot for Michael Bush that one not windated line shot that got out of here in a hurry do was walk somebody fly ball center field pete Co Armstrong back turning and it’s off the bricks pca picks it up fires it into second palano has it doubled that one hit a kneecap that’s an ouchie yeah this dude made out of titanium i mean he didn’t even flinch we talked about that cut he gets on his fast ball right off the kneecap he grimaced a little bit did he Did he get a little grimace yeah on a day like today the other way and a base hit run comes in to score and to third [Applause] yeah I know it’s a cliche but uh this early in the game no lead is safe solano fights this pitch off it’s like a cutter slider that’s kind of backing up a little bit solano had a nice day yesterday rbi single here to play basketball one fly ball out towards left center pete Cro Armstrong is there to make the catch and attacking and scoring is really there two outs a little bit further out with this one maybe swing and a miss struck him out star rookie of the year what a career base hit out into left center field for JP Crawford to 2-2 on the ground horner can’t get it into right field and Crawford will stop at third that was hard hit on the ground on the ground backhanded nicely by Brulean long throw and it squirts away from BCH run comes in to score and the runners advance to second and third and the unit continues [Applause] rohan making his fifth start at third base this year made a nice play earlier in the game here’s kind of get feet kind of go out from underneath him i don’t think he ever got a real good grip on that baseball probably had a little more time to set up than he realized hurried throw and normally dependable Michael Bush not able to pick that one in 72 plate appearances line drive and a base hit into right field tucker will pick it up a run scores a Rosarena will stop at third and it’s 95 [Applause] really hangs in there this time against the left-hander and delivers a solid single to right as I mentioned an inning or so ago this thing is far from over on the ground through the right side base hit for Rosarena is in and it’s 96 and the Mariners won’t go away [Applause] that is ripped right field curling boom a laser homer for Pete Crow Armstrong and the Cubs lead it 106 for PCA number 21 that’s a mood enhancer after a tough day yesterday and some struggles on the outfield today the bloop double last time anything but a bloop this time and here come the PCA chance a laser right big long stride and then the hands come flying through the zone i love that sound the ball banging off the scoreboard raising the roof bringing all of his players off the field nick Frangela is making his way over to the the Mariners dug out yeah this is not good no something’s going on [Music] dehydration perhaps in this heat chris Gion talking to the folks back in New York the smart of Craig Councel to bring his guys off the field get out of the heat while they wait yeah no question yeah got to get the If the umpires they don’t get a break cuz they’re out there in it the whole game whole time and they’ll be going with a threeman crew so looks like Chad Wson on a brutally hot day is done for the day dexter Kelly will take over behind the plate so they’ll go three-man crew with Gucci and Moscoso on the bases ben Williamson now against Drew Pomeran first pitch swinging slices it to right and a base hit on the ground right side through base hit williamson speeding to third and they’re at the corners [Applause] completing it by four swing and a miss a strike out for Keller takes a little bit off this one catches Rodriguez out in front williams is at third crawford at first and that one right through there got him he was hunching on something else well you just you know we talk about it all the time you just don’t see fast balls in these counts anymore especially the most dangerous hitters but Keller went right after him and a little emergency hack comes up empty gutsy pitch here comes Got him oh Brad Keller comes in and strikes out three in a row what great work a one two line oh caught and now Rosarena and they’re going to have a chance in a double play danby they’re saying out of the baseline but let’s just keep doing it anyway give the fans something to cheer about randy look at bewilderment on his face down there what just went down boy it’s such a tough read for a base runner is it a line drive a ground ball yeah so he was able to induce the line drive but it was a long hopper rosena just now leaving the base he’s out right [Applause] flying softly left field in half tumble catch fieldbar one pitch and gets help on a brilliant play by the gold glover yesterday two/3s he allowed a couple of runs a home run cal Raleigh got him proper gone on strikes and there’s two away as much as we tell stories that it was that way line swaps and diving play dansby steals a hit from Rodriguez and Theelbar gets a one two three two-time Gold Glove Award winner lay out to your left [Music] inside ball four you have to have a PhD in Cubs history to know that one here comes Dan Wilson with the trainer and they’ve got some concerns about Thornton [Music] maybe cramping up yeah he’s struggling oh boy [Applause] yeah he’s unsteady and I I think cramping i mean that just gives you an idea how how hot it is out here [Music] [Applause] dan Wilson and their athletic trainer taking Trent Thornton off the field to a nice ovation man it’s scary how quickly it can it can come on you like that yeah in the air left field hap is back at the wall and it’s gone [Applause] raleigh the other way and the Mariners get a run back he’s the first switch hitter ever with 30 homers before the break and the first catcher it’s just a fly ball basically he gets beat by this fast ball he’s laid on it but he’s so strong and just lifts it up there into that breeze popped up kelly tosses the mass carson has it ball game cubs win valencia finishes it off and here in the heat we all get to sing the song [Applause] [Music] never end [Music] [Applause] what you say [Music] because there
