Tonight. It’s game one of a three game series this weekend between the Miami Marlins and the scorching hot all of the sudden Atlanta braves a special night for young Didier Fuentes. The 20 year old with a baby face will make his major league debut under the major league spotlight tonight, Jensen Junk on the mound for the Marlins tonight, first start of the season. He was used as the ball pitcher after an opener. His last five appearances here is a, he said safely in 20 of his 24 starts to begin the 2025 season and again, the payoff pitch is swung on it. Got a and Jensen Junk wins that eight pitch at bat to start his night one away. So Riley now with two outs here , the first two is cut on a miss. ST will lead off the bottom of the second inning for the Marlins and the first pitchers slacks into left center field Harrison converging and they won’t get there. Verdugo picks it up on one hop on the warning track in left center and kyle Stowers is aboard with a leadoff double D Myers come to the plate for the Marlins 12 and there’s the first big league strike out for Didier Fente. He gets Dane myers swinging. Look at that pitch. It starting right down the middle and there reaction. I do think that it is official. I think that Father ramon is more nervous than the son one out for liam Hicks that has flown in the air to shallow left field and that’s going to get down for a base hit really good jump by Kyle Stour. He was hesitant throw coming in towards the plate. Not in time. Hicks will take second on the throw in RB I single for liam Hicks has given the Marlins a one nothing lead and here is Connor Norby who all of a sudden six of his last 10 game two is cut on and missed the curveball spins in and Conor swings right through it. That is an amazing play from the new Marlins shortstop. Another great defensive shortstop, Nick Allen lifts one out to left field that is falling quickly and he makes the catch Kyle Stoer diving in. How about the leather behind Jansen Chunk first o it short and Kyle in left and Junk has a 123, 3rd base hit for Xavier Edwards. Marlins have the leadoff man aboard for the second consecutive inning. Otto hitting 227 and 17 games in the month of June. And he lines that through the right side that’s down for a base hit Edwards will turn and burn at second headed towards third. Here comes a throw not in time up to second goes out of Lopez and you move yourself into scoring position. Augustine ramirez unload good. All of a sudden, Augustine ramirez has a Marlins team leading 11 homers this season. He saw those runners out there. He saw that. Otto Lopez moved himself into scoring position. He said, you know what? Otto you could have scored from first on that one, took that curve ball from Fuentes and there was never ever a doubt Myers on base for the first time tonight. Next pitch will put him over 50 runner breaks for second. Murphy could throw. I think he slid over the bag. Allen got him and myers is out at second base to end the third inning. See if the Braves can get to Jansen Junk so far. He’s perfect through three innings. There’s a hard hit ball right back up the middle and the Braves have their first baserunner, their first hit tonight. But now here’s Verdugo Verdugo with a line drive base hit. So the Braves bats starting to come to life here in the fourth inning. Now he’s got to work out of trouble with the heart of the order. Come to the plate. Fuentes back out there for the bottom of the fifth innings. A little bounce out to second and a pop out to the catcher in foul ground have two quick outs for the 20 year old Didier Fuentes and now Fuentes is going to get one final go at Augustin ramirez Fuentes payoff pitch in play as he’s got it and Fuentes does get through five in his major league debut tonight. The handshake for manager Brian Snitker means the debut is over for Didier Fuentes and Ronnie Enriquez is in the ball game for Miami’s. Ozuna lifts it deep to center field. Myers is back trying to time it at the wall. He didn’t catch it and Ozuna will get a double out of it. Now, Marcellus wondering if that hit on the wall. I don’t think it did. It was a heck of an effort by Myers, but he couldn’t keep it in the web of his glove. You’ll probably get a crew chief review on this. Brian sticker walking out right right now to ask for that after the call on the field has confirmed the ball is in play about a runner will remain at second base. Heck of an effort. That’ll play to pair a two run double and the Marlins with more breathing room at 6 to 1. However, alex Verdugo is saying that that ball is caught up out there. So what the Braves are going to challenge here is if that’s going to be a ground rule double , so myers will have to go back to third and it will cost Eric Wagman one run liner. Oh, how about that? Riley diving right into the back for a double play. Well, good to see a break go the Braves way quite honestly, the call there on the reversal and now this one hard line drive and he couldn’t draw it up any better than that. And Roberto Hernandez and a bouncer up the middle to his left Allen has it. Squares fires and a good throw good enough as Olson’s got it for the out. The Marlins have their leadoff man in scoring position looking to attack on another. They lead 51 at the bottom of the seventh and here’s Pierce Johnson hard throwing right hander out of the bullpen. There’s a slow roller and a chopper. Nice job by Edwards to get in the way throw to first. Not in time you give an assist there to Xavier Edwards. Well, it’s a, it’s an assist just because of the way he was able to dance out of the way runner goes. The 12 is hit right side and it gets past Albes into center field. A run will score. Lopez will stop at third that worked to perfection almost like a little hit and run. It’s the fourth run batted the end of the night for Augustine ramirez. It is leverage work for Calvin Foer two out here in the top of the ninth, last call. Now for the Braves, here’s Michael Harris the second and that has ripped out to second base and this is going to do well played all around by the Miami Marlins here tonight who take game one this weekend from Atlanta final score, Miami six and Atlanta two.
