Royals vs. Padres Game Highlights (6/21/25) | MLB Highlights

We welcome you to San Diego and the Petco Park. It’s a middle game of three between the Kansas City Royals and the San Diego. Padres. Dylan C will be making his 17th career start against the Royals here today. His most against any opponent. Dylan has a 350 career, er, a against the Royals. Wake up the bats. Here’s Jonathan India, you get off here in the first inning, first pitch from Dylan Cis of the day is popped up back a first into foul ground for Luisa rise, a little stagger but he’s there for out number 12 down for Michael Garcia, a ground ball up the middle ranging his boards to his left. It’s off balance and it’s nicely picked on the other side by a rise. It’s a 123 1st inning. The Padres are coming up from San Diego rookie sensation, Noah Cameron, he makes his eighth. No, Cameron comes into this start. A 191, a is a rookie left hander that is the sixth best, er, a among major league pitchers with at least 40 innings of work. What does fernando Tatis Junior do at the top of the padre lineup. His last four games including the final three games of the series in Los Angeles Fernando is zero for 13, 2 strikes here to a swing and a miss got him to chase the changeup first strikeout for Cameron and now he faces Manny Machado with the bases empty in two outs towards the end of the bat popped up down from first is Pa Pitino on to the infield one to make the catch for out number three done with one from San Diego without a score scoreless game bottom of the second inning. And what Cameron delivers to gavin sheets sheets to the wall for a double to begin. The second. She has a 12 game hitting streak. It is 1st and 3rd nobody out of the Diego second inning over the course of the season. Noah Cameron’s been really good with runners in scoring position , really stingy with runners in scoring position. That’s just the third hit he’s allowed with a runner in scoring position. Shoots at third Bogert at first on a ground ball right side and he will go to second for one back to first. It is in time, double play run will score very close play at first base close enough that Mikes wants to challenge he is very clearly safe. Look at the play about as easy of a call as the replay command center will have this season. So is going to get an RB I LA grounds one to second India this time to second for one to first for two. They do turn it, the double play will wrap up the inning but the Padres strike first on top one and the Royals first hit comes off the bat of their center fielder today. Drew Waters. So he’s on to begin things here in the third inning and now the number nine hitter John Rave trying to get some traction early in his major league career. This one is set out towards the gap in right center field all the way back to the track of the wall waters from first base is headed home. He will score to tie the game by the Royals here in the third innings. The bottom of the order getting it done a back foot slider from C and Rave got his hands down and in that was an impressive swing. So is Dilan C working out of the stretch, which has been an issue for him all season long, but really revealed itself in the last couple of games. Also, Bobby with a five game hit streak and a 17 game road hitting streak on the ground right side arise will need C and he gets over to make the play taking third is Rave Jor grounds out to a pitch coming up here to garcia with a runner at third and wanted that one strike, the fastball misses and down to first base with his second walk allowed by C the mound visit is over past Quentin will get it. The left handed batter’s box with Garcia at first base and Rave at third base two down on the ground right side picked on the backhand by Cron gets up and throws out past Pitino to end the inning and the Royals strand a pair in scoring position. They do get a run to tie the score 1 to 1 good pick and a one out base runner here in the bottom of the third inning of a tie game, a strikeout victim in the first inning went swinging the K for pitch and it was a cutter but still fernando has been hit so much lately that he’s getting out of the way of everything that’s close takes and low ball four, of course, if he’s not going to chase, you’re going to put yourself in a precarious situation. And that is what Noah Cameron has now done issuing back to back one out one coming up to left field in the first inning zero for 13 time batting champion on the ground up the middle of hits that is up and throwing. It will be as the Padres take it 2 to 1 with his first hit of the game in the second run. Still only one out as Manny Machado stands in for the second time today. Padres back ahead 2 to 1 against Kansas City to Machado and the swing of the Miss he strikes out on the change up and that’s a second strikeout needed that in a big spot right there. Big up number two as he gets Machado two down with runners in the corners. Can he keep it a one run deficit now against a red hot hitter in left handed hitting Gavin, she fly ball to deep center field back goes waters. It will take to the dirt of the track as he makes the catch in front of the wall to end the inning. And camera gets out of the inning. Another deep count for Dylan Skin pitch count 59 3 plus innings. It’s not a recipe for going deep into a game, a swing and a miss the fastball to get Perez. That is just the first strikeout for Dylan C two outage had 11 Ks fastball again. So Cag Leone is on for the second time. He’s drawn a walk. Now he’s been hit by a pitch. He’ll be a base runner for Mark Canna. I’m not even sure if he realized that he was hit by that pitch. Can a one out single Cag leon up to second base and now two guys aboard for Drew Waters making adjustments. Martin Maldonado behind the plate. Dylan sees on the mound making adjustments, one to center field , sending Bryce Johnson back a few steps. He’s there and makes the catch on the jam is in the top of the fourth inning and done. That brings up Bobby Wood Jr who is 0 to 2 today on the line and fernando to Jr on the sinking liner. Right. What a nice jump by Fernando Tatis Junior Jesse. That’s one where as soon as the ball is hitting the bat, you’re already looking out in right field and Fernando is already on the run. So this was Dylan’s coming off last inning and it looks like Mike Schultz has one more one more. So we thought he was done because he was at 102 pitches. Most he’s thrown this year is one and three, but he’s not done. He’s back out there again. He’s been using the fastball more and more today and it has been very effective swing and a miss and more fastballs there. It is again, that is the fourth strikeout for Dylan C in the first out of the seventh inning. He agrees and that will be the day for Dylan C 110 pitches for Dylan today and he 21 padre and it winds up being a hit for Iglesias and Abi just couldn’t get the ball out of his glove. And truth be told even if he did , he was going to have a hard time. You get a little frustrated because you make such a great play. Little bobble toss him. It will be to with Johnson at first and Iglesias at second and fernando hits it in the air to left field is back up the first one in a long time to give the inning. It is now 5 to 1. Eino batting 0 to 3 in the game with one out and Bobby Wood Jr at second base on the ground and pecked on the back here by Iglesias. His throw one haft. Is there? What a play by the veteran jose Iglesias? That ball is by him and the throw might have been better than the pick Padres five and the Royals won and the Pods three outs away from evening this series 678 coming up against more at home two down here in the top of the ninth and a ground ball on the glove more home to the back and is with long throw and he’ll get it there in time to end the ball game. So the San Diego Padres are victorious today after losing game one last night of this three game series, it is a 5 to 1 victory.

  1. Beating a .500 club is not what you want to see. Feel proud padres fans but look at who youre beating and who you're losing to. Feels like the padres are losing 2 games, and winning 1 vs good teams. Then beating the bad teams. You might have a good record at the end of the season but in the playoffs the pattern of going 1-2, 2-4 against good teams is going to show in the playoffs. Don't be happy with this victory because there's some serious flaws in this team. And it starts with the pitching. Suarez and Jason Adam among others is the thing that will sink San Diego.
