sure he wants to turn that around and we’ll see if he’s able to start that in this one 14 and that one hammered going back pulls it in on the warning track man Boo I love watching an outfielder take on the wall and make that play and it’s a lot easier to watch from up here because that can be painful in the end you know the wall’s coming up on you quickly so you have to maintain concentration in able to make that catch and hold on to it after contact alex Verdugo stands in now and watches strike one [Applause] next offering is in for a strike one out base is empty [Music] tap dances out of plate for Miami Otto Lopez good defender he’s been inconsistent edwards dives and can’t get back in time he’s picked off so much for their first hit right there good move and he had him leaning all down quietly still behind by a count of one to nothing back here in Miami new inning getting started now in for the Braves azie Alz albz is playing on the road so you know that means he’s been facetiming with his pet fish this guy owns a few home aquariums and it’s no secret he likes talking to his fish when he’s away in fact Alb’s had cameras installed so he can check on the fish anytime he wants headed towards the corner sedha long run on his horse couldn’t get to it before it dropped foul ground ball right side and that chance handled throws to first and allies is retired batting out of the hand at eye level that discipline to remember I can’t hit that pitch if I can see it really well at eye level I can’t catch up to that pitch when a pitcher’s got this kind of velocity [Music] misses just off the outside edge i think that was a strike last couple of pitches breaking balls away i think he’s going to have to come firm inside to be able to open up that location if he wants to go back there later in this count line to left and foul ball two outs that one fouled off two and two swing and a ground ball up the middle that’s a base hit the right fielder number 13 there on the mound in this situation ahead 20 he’s put himself in a really good spot and that one pulled foul still in the second already at 44 pitches so some concern there and he swings and lifts one to deep center field that one’s got a chance makes the catch and that is that so one hit is all they get we go to the bottom of inning number two it’s the Braves one and the Marlins nothing and off taking that pitch into center tracks it down for the out one up one down nothing instills more confidence in a team than a center fielder who makes a great play like that on the run they can feed off the energy he brings just from his playmaking abilities and now the count is even comes up empty that’s strike two one ball two strike hit in the air center field harris has a beat on it and makes starts his afternoon off right with a double well I’m not saying that play was easy but it was harder than it needed to be thanks to the bad jump those small moments can be costly [Applause] so runner him upstairs really consistent release point he’s been able to pitch up and down and have excellent command at both locations tying run and scoring position bottom half of inning number two in the dirt blocked [Applause] swing and a miss and that is that he’s in a tough spot had to make a great pitch did it got the strike out gets out of the jam clearly he’s happy with those results top half of the third inning here’s Alex Verdugo alex Verdugo [Music] that one misses ball one you know these Braves showing great discipline at the plate and patience definitely seems to be the name of their game in this one he’s only given up one run but the starter pitch count is starting to get up there and that might be the best news yet for this offense you know sometimes all it takes is getting to the next arm before an offense does any damage and that might be the case today here is Austin Riley one for one with a single and a run scored so far [Applause] and the pitch a little bit low ball movement over there at first base trying to stay out of the double play right here and that one missing inside a sharp slider base hit right for you throw back in quickly first and second out with nobody out two consecutive base hits for these guys here just a cookie down the middle i mean those are the ones you dream about ones in the cage you’re just hoping you get in the ball game right down the middle not a whole lot of velocity right on top of it first and second no outs xavier Edwards now at the plate in for a strike and one no outs runners at first and second [Applause] i got one ball pitch if you leave something out over the plate it’s going to bring in some runs next pitch misses and now three to one first pitch strike from the pitcher but then no panic at all by the hitter very patient showing good discipline now he’s in the driver’s seat with a 3-1 count swings through that one for strike two full count 32 struck him out looking now Patty catch and now the catcher comes up to him augustine Ramirez went down on strikes his first time through [Applause] and a popup right side foul territory and there’s two down boy that was a hanging breaking ball right there i think he tried to do a little bit too much sometimes those eyes can get really big i think his swing broke down as well and that’s what caused him to pop it up otto Lopez the next up for the Marlins struck out swinging his first time slider for a strike getting a little frustrated with the strike zone [Applause] and a swing and a miss there man I’m pretty impressed out there on the mound right now i mean these are tough spots where pitchers really got to bear down those last two pitches were well executed two on two outs that’s a really good take one ball two strikes to count [Applause] two outs and the one two misses to even the count [Applause] spoils a two- strike pitch and he’ll see another [Applause] i got three in the dirt nothing happening on the bases though [Applause] sail delivers fouls Ozuna rbi single his last time ozuna 34 year old vet and he was born in the Dominican Republic that one finds the zone throwing one he’s pitching well but not throwing a ton of first pitch strikes usually doesn’t work out for success but you can never predict baseball and that one fouled off that one is absolutely belted that’s back there that’s a bomb and they boost their lead it’s two nothing that was blasted absolutely no doubt off the bat with a low 90s fast ball you have to live on the edges and hit your spots if you don’t you’ll get hit hard really good swing there patient waited for it it was like BP all over again here’s the catcher Drake Baldwin struck out swinging his first time fast ball for a strike at 95 and one oh he’s just got to delete it you give up that leadoff home notched four strikeouts now up next for Atlanta the center and here is Michael Harris II he struck out swinging at his first at bat boo this guy’s just a tremendously talented center fielder gold glove caliber type out there offensively he can do some things but you know also has some streakiness as well i think the key just trying to find a way for him to be consistent day in and day out you know he saves runs in the outfield so that’s going to buy him more time to work things out at the dish and that misses and that’s ball two well he looks more focused at the plate and working the count after that first at bat strikeout that one’s spoiled and the count now two and one just missed on the ground right side and that will end the inning but the solo shot stretches their lead even further and it’s two zip major League Baseball is on the show leading off Arberto Hernandez trying to center his first time he’s 0 for one hernandez and that’s off the inside edge and that is ball one ball two two balls no strength and another ball expect for that guy to come right at you with a fast ball something in the zone because he does not want to allow the leadoff walk that one misses so a lead off walk it’s tough after falling behind a hitter two balls and no strikes but now at least he gets a fresh start against a new batter but he needs to get back into the strike zone and start pitching [Applause] and that one fouled off [Applause] outside and now three and two on this count runner not known for his speed but I think you got to put him in motion try to avoid a double play here boo and ball forward to a board that could jump start an offense that’s really struggled to score in this one don’t want to wake a team up with the free pass so digging in Dane Meyers doubled his first time [Applause] line drive base hit play save and now they trail by one a costly mistake in the outfield thanks to the bad read and terrible timing for that to happen that’s a play you just want to forget about [Applause] first and second no Alice and now for the Marlins Connor Norby 0 for one he struck out swinging last time first pitch misses [Applause] that’s ball in the dirt nice job behind the plate there [Applause] first and second no outs we’re here in the bottom of the fourth [Applause] that’s a strike it’s two and two check swing now we’ll look down to first side and he punches him out he went around and the batter will be the shorts stop one for one with a single so far he’s someone that you might not describe as having elite level speed but he can absolutely move and it is a factor in his game that finds the mark on the inside corner well this guy’s definitely a plus runner but what I love about him is that he goes all out every single time never takes a break it’s guys like that even though they don’t have the elite speed the fact that they’re consistent with it they make moves on the base paths [Applause] it’s a big opportunity right here but I love the way he’s slowing the game down he’s shrinking his zone making sure he gets the pitch that he wants to hit [Applause] outside two loss in the inning already and he just doesn’t seem comfortable out there like he can find the right mechanics and then repeat them one out runners at first and second [Applause] and they’re all loaded up oh that sets up a really big at bat in this game these are the moments when everyone in the stadium gets really locked in so bases all loaded up here’s the left fielder Javier Senoha golden opportunity right here that one finds the zone that’s strike one tough situation right here so important as a pitcher to get ahead in the count as he did right there that one hooked fouled the last thing he wants is to hit the ball on the ground but I wouldn’t expect many pitches up in the zone they’ll be pitching for a double play in this spot got him make it seven strikeouts for him well this is where the team aspect really comes into play on the offensive side of the game right i mean missed opportunity to tie it up with the runner at third one out couldn’t put the ball in play so now it’s time to pick him up and that’s where good teams they go to they operate on this level of next man up that mentality is what causes them to win series get into the postseason that helps keep the energy and morale high in the dugout base is loaded two down [Applause] and now it’s even up [Applause] highf fly ball out towards left center ozuna ranging after it rings it in and that is the third out of the inning but they pick up one run on the RBI single and it’s now a two-1 fifth the right fielder number 13 Ronald Akuna here’s Akuna now for two in this one no here’s a player who hits the ball a mile when he connects in fact Akunia is the first player in the Statcast era to hit 10 straight home runs all traveling more than 420 ft he’s not exactly just clearing the fences out there and that one upstairs ball one he really committed to that fast up at the top of the zone he knows that if he makes a mistake in the zone it gets hit hard by a power guy like this that’s a nice miss right there that one missing inside base is empty one away and we’re in the top of the fifth that’s ball four tried another sweeper but couldn’t find a zone oh that’s a really good take right there and that’s just mentally prepared knowing that if it’s not on a TE you’re going to take that pitch because you still have one more strike to work with not easy to lay off but he did an excellent job in that plate appearance verdugo stands in here tried to hold back his swing there but pitching for Sandy Alcantara comes on now just trying to keep this one close here and this is where a bullpin can give their players a chance to fight back into the game well one-run game here is Austin Riley singled and scored back in the first he’s one for two oh he doesn’t get the call and that’s ball one you know these Braves putting together some really good at bats in this game there’s been a lot to like with how they’re approaching their chances at the plate they really made that opposing starter work in this one ran his pitch count up and now they’ve got an opportunity to continue making things difficult on the bullpen and that one handled tosses to first they get him but it was pretty close good armside run and sink on that pitch right there got inside on him and got him to bounce into that out matt Olsen up to the plate and no they haven’t broken through in a big way in the runs column but with the way they’re grinding out at bats it definitely feels like there’s potential for more coming inside just missed next offering is fouled back drilled in the air high and deep right field that one carrying it has the distance gone his second homer of this series it’s 3-1 the hard sinker can be a pretty tough pitch because of the late life and movement but somehow he got the barrel to that pitch stayed through it really nice job of staying on the backside until it was time to transfer that weight and a really nice home run base is empty one away here comes Ozuna up to the plate he’s already homerred here in this one [Applause] that’s in for a strike oh and one one out base is empty and a run in and we’re in the top half of the sixth [Applause] and that one is lifted in the air no trouble here puts it away for the out two away the batter the catcher two down it’s now a 3-1 ball game you’re dialed into the show spencer Schwelenbach will take over here and we all know about his slider it’s just filthy man one of the better ones in the game I’d say spin rate’s very high and it just breaks a ton so digging in picked up an RBI in his last at bat still their only run of the game so far and the first pitch misses for ball one the Braves bullpen has some activity raphael Montero preparing to come on if needed bummer warming up as well the one nope inside ball two looks like he was trying to get to the front door with that curve ball it’s definitely a finesse pitch but it backed up a little bit on him and stayed inside next offering in there for a strike now two balls in a strike no need to offer that pitch until you get to two strikes it’s just a low percentage of success when you want to try to go after that down and away pitch fouls one off two and two that’s a little bit low that one misses so a lead off walk third baseman number one conor Norby the next up for the Marlins who’s 0 for two with a pair of strikeouts now these guys definitely looking for a big swing of the bat right here try to close that gap but you know at the very least if you can find a way to manufacture that run from first it feels like it’s really important to getting back into this ball game highf fly ball and that one curling foul down the right side [Applause] that one but it’s going to look like a line drive in the box score tomorrow he clearly didn’t catch that one on the big part of the bat just kind of muscled it out there and you know on the mound it can be pretty frustrating for a pitcher but you just kind of have to expect those to drop in there sometimes now it’s the short stop and a sack bun here bare hand grab throw to first nicely done for the owl we don’t see this very often anymore runner on first and second sack down to move him off but he does a nice job executes perfectly see if they can get a couple of runs across [Applause] ball you’re expecting it to make its move at the end it never does and you’re tied up [Music] and a swing and a miss he didn’t make it easy for him on the mound but they still get the strike out and right on the black it’s 0 and one definitely a strikeout situation right here lots of ways for that go-ahead run to score if the ball’s put in play here’s the pitch to Olsen hard on the ground to comes up empty they can live up in the zone all game if hitters will chase it that’s just too much velocity hitters got to look down in the zone cuts and misses it’s a strikeout so they make short work of him there ninth inning coming up and we are tied 4-4 now pitching so they turn to their closer Ronnie Enriquez well he’s been excellent against left-handed hitters this year and that’s his first test this looks like a good move to the pin in terms of the matchup and now the center fielder Michael Harris the second michael Harris [Applause] tap foul at the plate swaging a chopper the flip to the pitcher covering now one gone in the ninth now it’s going to be Nick Allen [Applause] and the first offering is not close all tied up here in the top of the ninth up the middle on the run throw to first and they get the out and here is Ronald Akuna Jr if you don’t get ahead in the count you can forget about having any success against him that one way outside ball one bad ball two it’s getting squeezed a little bit here late two bad ball three eli White in the deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here pitch is in there and it’s three and one [Applause] that one catches the corner for a strike rocketed out towards right center and that’ll do it so no runs no hits no errors and no one left and 912 scheduled to lead off the bottom of the ninth and we are tied 4-4 and the batter now Javier Senoha the wine to kick the pitch and that drops in for a strike movement in the Atlanta bullpen reel Glacius the veteran right-hander appears to be loosening up 4-4 in the ninth little chopper rolls foul [Music] [Applause] [Music] battling here as he fouls it away monttero fires swing and a miss he struck him out gasted right by him i’m not sure that was the exact location the pitcher wanted but it worked he got the swing and miss and I’m sure a bit of sigh of relief after seeing that one go through the zone xavier Edwards the next up for the Marlins and a bunt towards third and that’s a foul ball base is empty one away we’re in the last half of the ninth inning shortened the bunt and missed it 0 and two now [Applause] one down base is empty in the air left field down the line dies but it’s off his glove makes it to second the winning runs in scored position with one gone good two strike hitting right there Boo a bit of a lost start for some so that was nicely done to beat the odds just a blue pit behind third right there and that’s a really tough play for a third baseman or shortstop to get to and the same for the left fielder so he just found a perfect place to drop that one in right there now just one swing away from potentially walking this thing off one out runner at second and up next for Miami Augustine Ramirez that misses the zone and that is ball [Applause] the winning run on second base nope and that’s a little bit high and it’s 2 and 0 homeplayed umpires trying to tighten things up a little bit the next offer misses three and 0 would love to see him get the green light even with the three count right here let’s see if he can create some magic [Applause] [Music] [Applause] headed down the line and that will drop foul runner edges away at second and a foul ball he stays alive [Music] [Applause] that’s to third riley throws across the diamond two gone up next for the Marlins the second baseman Otto Lopez otto Lopez the next up for the Marlins oh how he’d love to walk it off right here [Applause] strike one well there’s a certain point where you have to commit to what you think you see and he guessed wrong right there nasty slider with just terrific bite at the end swing and a miss well you can’t expect to get a great pitch to hit with an open base and a runner on second he’s going to have to really tighten up his sights here make sure that he can barrel off the ball trying to send this extra innings knocks that one away and will do it again [Music] they tried to get him to chase on a slider down and away [Applause] foul ball left side he’ll see another [Applause] in the air right side akuna after it drops into the glove and that’s the third out marlins leave one still all square at four apiece runner in scoring position no outs white digs in now getting his first plate appearance here in extra innings he entered the game as a pinch runner [Applause] yeah that’s fouled off check swing he and then gets up and takes it himself man it’s a one-man show and now Matt Olsen up to hit calling for the intentional walk and that loads up the bases and the force play is now in order and next for Atlanta Steuart Fairchild entered the game as a pinch runner first played appearance for him here ball one no strikes in the infield at the corners don’t be surprised to see them come home first and prevent that run from scoring [Applause] and delivers outside pressurees on right here two count base is loaded you don’t want to fall to a three ball count and then walk in or on he’s got to challenge the hitter right here [Applause] highfly ball out to left field senoha under it brings it in runner tagging from third a big run scores on the sack fly and they lead it in the 10th that can be a tough one with the bases loaded you can try to do too much but there he didn’t he stayed within himself he got that run in with the sack fly would have been nice if the runners behind could have advanced but they’ll take what they got [Applause] baldwin stands in with two away as he takes a ball miamiy’s bullpen with some action jansen Junk appears to be getting ready and I’m sure he’s feeling some nerves this would be his major league debut foscher also throwing [Applause] and here’s the strike first and second two down [Music] that one missed two balls one strike [Applause] next offering is fouled back [Music] just missing there and that’s ball three azie Alby’s next to bat for the Braves [Applause] got him looking that’s a strike out one run in the inning but they leave two last chance to even things up we head to the bottom of inning number 10 it’s the Braves five and the Marlins four reel Glacius comes out trying to close it out should be a good first match up for him here he’s been doing a great job against right-handed bats so far this season they’ve had a lot of trouble squaring him up the batter now Ariberto Hernandez so important to stay within yourself especially for this hitter not known to be a power guy or a home run hitter he needs to set the table by getting on with a walk or a base hit first pitch doesn’t find his zone well comfortable or not these are the situations closers they seem to live for i mean you get into some hot water a jam tough spot whatever you want to call it but this is where they earn their keep so the tying run at second swings and misses and it’s one and two see if you can go upstairs a little bit make sure you miss up and out of the zone since you’re heading to count one two don’t miss in the zone because that’s where you get hurt [Applause] swing and a miss got him to go up the ladder for the K well that right there is what you want to see out of your closer come in and close the door cancel any hope that that opponent has in making some type of comeback in the ball game tell you what that helps him settle in and that helps everybody else relax a little bit to get these other two outs wagam the next to bat checked his swing that’s ball one with the winning run at the plate there the home team trying to pull it out not close with that one and the count is 2 and 0 base hit center field runner around third on his way to the plate he’ll score and it’s an RBI single and they’ve tied it again such great concentration everybody on their feet knowing that you can come through with a good swing and there he doesn’t try to do too much one down runner at first here’s the center fielder Dane Meyers just missed swing and a tapper that rolls foul one down winning run onto first [Applause] at 96 that pitch is in for a strike good approach right there you want to get something just a little higher that you can elevate stay out of that double play swing and a miss struck him out two out third base number one and at the plate for Miami Connor Norby Nor lifted to left fairchild settles under this one he’s got it and that is the inning so a run-on one hit no errors and a man left we push on to the 11th we’re all tied up 55 now pitching forward so a lefty out of the pen kane Gibson and he’s been really shutting down hitters from the right side of the plate this year not a lot of hard contact so the go-ahead run in scoring position and now it’s the switch in second base Azie Alb 0 for four two ground outs a fly out and a strike out missed with a change up and it’s one and0 [Applause] and another ball next offering in there for a strike and it’s two and one now [Applause] fouled off he was late pretty good pitch there to take a rip at he wants to get his arms extended he likes the ball away from him a little bit just not able to square it up swing and a miss that’s a strike out pulled the string of the change up you know varying speeds can be just as useful for a pitcher as movement as you see right there it really wasn’t a great location but the fact that the velocity change had the hitter off balance and that’s all you got to do sometimes now here is Michael Harris II fast ball is outside [Applause] man at second swings through that one going to really need to hang in there with that front side against this left-handed breaking ball [Applause] and he gets tied up right there well if he’s going to do something special right here it’s going to have to happen with two strikes next pitch misses way outside [Applause] [Music] [Applause] swinging a drive deep right field on a dead sprint racing back and he misses it it drops in as the go-ahead runner pulls up at third two hits for him in this one both for extra bases got to feel good about that a lot of times in today’s game right fielders are able to get to a ball that stays in like that but he hit that one pretty well and if he hits it just a little bit different on the barrel it’s out of here easily but there’s nothing wrong with the extra bases right there now that sets up a huge at bat in this ball game stepping in Nick Allen and that one fouled off with the go ahead run at third and here in extra innings now a pitch out to defend against the squeeze but nothing going on [Music] [Applause] swinging a miss as he was late two straight [Applause] out to short zips it across two away a well thrown slider like that one can be tough to get in the air good downward break on that one and here comes Ronald Akuna Jr in a huge spot bit of strategy here they issue the intentional walk and that’ll set up a force play at any base now batted two outs base is full next to hit Eli White yeah don’t need much damage here just a base hit likely will score two fast ball for a strike it’s 0 and one and I know you want to be patient as a hitter but you got to be ready to jump on the first thing straight and he got one right there but let the bat on his shoulder just missed you don’t want to get beat by a fast ball in and he spits on that one that’s a strike and he inches closer to getting out of the jam back door him with the breaking ball just got the corner there’s nothing you can really do with that stays alive [Applause] lifted in the air right center field edwards on the move to the gap makes the grab and that’s the third out and the Braves will strand three our score holds at five apiece runner in scoring position no outs and the batter will be the short stop struck out on just three pitches last time winkler alacius back to work swang and a ball lifted in the air harris sizes this one up puts it away for the out now batting left fielder Javier the Noha javier Senoha the next up for the Marlins well first base open really no reason to pitch to this hitter right here put him on have the force at second first perhaps getting inning ending double play that one’s in there that’s strike one [Applause] had a strike swinging a ground ball up the middle throw to first in time the right fielder number nine Xavier so up next Xavier Edwards and this is a big opportunity for him to pick up his teammate right here fought off foul [Applause] hit on the ground to short allen gets it to first beats him to the bag and that means we’re playing 12 one left for Miami and this remains a five5 ball game go ahead run on base so here’s Riley now [Applause] on the ground to third and it’s fair coming home fires to the plate it’s off the mark and he scores they’ve got the lead 6-5 well they didn’t waste any time as they knock home the runner from second to get on the board huge for team confidence and how you approach the situation still have a guy on base and now they’ll try to add on and now it’s Matt Olsen’s turn to hit [Applause] hit hard on the ground to the right side fair ball around second is Riley and now runners at the corners nobody out man he just absolutely turned on that one ripped it down the line nice job of staying his mechanics so runners at the corners nobody out now the left fielder Steuart Fairchild drove in a run with a sack fly his first time up hit on the ground might be two tags the runner for one relay to first double play now back to Drake Baldwin drake Baldwin now at the plate [Applause] outside low that’s ball one two outs and a runner a third here in extra innings popped up to the left into foul ground norby makes the grab and that is that but the RBI single pushes across a run it’s tightened up a bit at 65 now you’re watching Major League Baseball on the show now pitching here comes a new arm for the Braves aaron Bummer and one thing on him he’s been really good this season at keeping the ball in the park not an easy guy to take deep and now the catcher comes up to him augustine Ramirez man at second nobody out and Chris certainly one of the things in his head is trying to get the runner over yeah the way that we see the game played today though guys are not sacrificing as much just to get that runner across they’re really looking at doing damage slugging is the name of the game [Applause] right through there for a strike yeah I think part of that goes into it’s just so hard to come up with hits in today’s game starters don’t go deep and so hitters are seeing multiple pitchers every night and that makes it more challenging just to come up with a single [Applause] smug on Belu that one is back and it bangs off the wall runner around third on his way to the plate he will score and the Marlins tie it up well that’s how you respond lead off man comes up gets into scoring position now there are several ways that they can get this run across runner in scoring position no outs now it’s the second baseman Otto Lopez on the outside corner for a strike going one that one in the dirt and gets away so a wild pitch allows the runner to advance well that right there can be a tough read as a runner on second to see if the ball’s gotten away enough to move to third you have to be sure you can make it because you’re already in scoring position well he was sure there and now he’s only 90 ft away from scoring swing and a miss this guy’s got such a good sinker as a hitter you’ve got to look up in the zone if you look down you’re going to be chasing stuff in the dirt and now two and two [Applause] in the air left side and an automatic double as it hops the fence and the Marlins win it in 12 well you come to the ballpark hoping you’ll see something special that day whether you’re a player or a fan a walk-off win nobody forgets that one-run game here today your final score 7 to6 a
