Yes, God forbid a player enjoy the off-season.

They do love the off-season but it’s very short. August, they are back in a heavy training. If you would like to see, in my opinion is a great movie, find the documentary on PK Subban in the off-season when he was traded from the habs to the predators. The insanity of the sport, and the ability to play at the level they do is absolutely remarkable. I believe it’s something that they are hardwired to do from the time they start to walk. JMO.
