Rangers Trade Talks HEATING UP… CRAZY Trade Update | NYR News

rangers trade talks are heating up we have a crazy trade update from NHL insider Pierre LeBron and he reports that the Dallas Stars are once again shopping Jason Robertson and this bolds well for the blue shirts welcome back to Rangers Digest i am your host Brett Bodfeld and it is great to be back with you guys on this beautiful Sunday morning the 22nd of June happy Sunday and before I break down why this latest report bolds well for the blue shirts a quick reminder that about 74% of you that currently watch these videos are unsubscribed so please hit that free subscribe button down below so you can stay up to date with everything New York Rangers we have New York Rangers content coming to you guys daily and live streams weekly but let’s hop right into the video the Dallas Stars are in cap hell folks and this bolds well for the Blue Shirts the Stars have $2.7 million in cap space left this summer they already have traded away Mason Marchman and extended veteran Matt Duente they just extended him on Thursday to a 4-year $18 million deal a very productive veteran center for the Dallas Stars captain Jamie Ben and Muel Granland are among their top remaining UFAs and guys Dallas Stars are in trouble they are going through it they’ve made the Western Conference Finals three straight seasons and have gotten bounced every single time they fired their head coach now they are in Capell and they have some major decisions to make you could assume they’d love to bring back their captain Jamie Ben but he is yet to be signed either and they have just $2.7 million in cap space and Jason Robertson is going to eat into that he’s going to be making $7.75 million and you know he’s due for a pay upgrade guys moving along here Jason Robertson will be 25 years old and has put up at least 79 points in four consecutive seasons however the Stars are reportedly trying to avoid trading him if they can but if they can’t come to a deal with Robertson then the Rangers have a great chance and the Rangers certainly have a great chance guys because unlike the Dallas Stars the Rangers have plenty of cap space to play with they had $15 million they recently signed Matt Rempy to a six-f figureure deal leaving them with just about $13.9 million to play with and they’d certainly be able to afford Jason Robertson at his current rate at $7.75 million and you know more moves are coming you know Carson Susi will be on the way out which will free an additional $3 million and change you know Keandre Miller is going to be on the way out and a lot of teams have interest in Keandre folks about 12 to 15 teams so that will clear another $3.5 million and the Rangers can certainly afford Jason Robertson and they need Jason Robertson that’s why this latest report from the Athletics Peter Lebron bolds well for the Blue Shirts because Dallas like I said they are in trouble folks they are in cap hell the New York Rangers are desperately looking to add some solid depth and goalc scoring to their offensive lines especially after they just traded Chris Krider to the Anaheim Ducks leaving them to now have just about $15 million in cap space while Drury continues to search to move more cap space by moving other players this off season guys I just alluded to that the Rangers don’t actually have $15 million they just signed Matt Rempy to a six-figure deal $975,000 like I just said so they still have just about $14 million to play with so the Rangers are still in good shape here moving forward obviously they’re going to look to get Will Culie locked up here shortly which will cost them according to hockey projections about $3.4 million so the Rangers are in good shape here folks and they have a lot of options let’s move along right here by the way this is an article from New York Rangers.com written by Hunter Bowman it might be a costly addition to acquire Jason Robertson but he’d be another building block in an anemic Rangers offense that has been missing all year and after being one of the many teams officially linked to the Star it certainly looks like it could happen guys the Rangers have been linked to Jason Robertson the entire off season and many of you have said “Guys why would the Dallas Stars they’ve been so successful after the past few years why would they trade one of their young players one of their best players an elite goal scorer why would they do that Brett why would the Rangers be linked to this guy?” Well the Rangers have a need at left wing don’t forget our Tammy Paneran is still here on that first line but you can imagine he won’t be back next season they just traded Chris Crider another left wing on their second line so they can certainly use the help at left wing jason Robertson is more than help he will mask a lot of the issues at left wing he is an elite goalcorer he is just going to continue to get better as long as he can stay healthy and is paired with a very good center which the Rangers have depth at center so he will be just fine and the Rangers have cap space they could make it happen and it is the mecca guys it is New York City what star wouldn’t want to play on Broadway and like I said Dallas would love to have their cake and eat it too but they simply can’t they simply can’t afford to keep everybody there they just extended Miko Rantin they still have to lock up their captain Jamie Ben like I said there was a reason they traded for Rantin at the deadline they want him to be here long term so they don’t have many options guys dallas obviously doesn’t want to trade him but they may be left with no choice here folks let’s move right along i just want to make one thing clear the Rangers have been linked to a lot of players here and it’s not just Darius and I putting it out there these are premium NHL insiders guys the Elliot Freriedman’s of the world the Peter Lebrons of the world here’s Freriedman once again yesterday morning vladislav Gabriov doesn’t have a long list of places he wants to go if he leaves Los Angeles which is why many are pointing to the New York Rangers like I just said that came from Elliot Freeman if you guys don’t want to trust Darius and I I mean you can’t go against Elliot Freeman like I said he is a premium NHL insider and we just report what these insiders are saying and we give our take on it so let’s move right along here another option for the Rangers who is likely not to be with his current team this upcoming season elliot Freriedman once again yesterday the Minnesota Wild offered Marco Rossi a bridge deal which was rejected rossi was upset by being put on the fourth line in the playoffs he is certainly not a fourth liner guys he is immensely talented he wants to make sure he’s in a place where he can play topline center so that is another option for the Rangers as you can see another disgruntled player and the Rangers are looking for youth they’re looking for speed they’re looking for size and snarl while Marco Rossi may not have that physicality because he is just 5’9 but he is extremely fast elite speed rangers are looking for some of that rangers are looking for some youth not saying it’s going to happen guys i’m just saying that it is another option we have to be aware of this is a guy that does not want to be with the Minnesota Wild long term moving along here Frank Cavelli another premium NHL insider this is a player that the Rangers have constantly been linked to the entire off seasonason as well i think we see a JJ Purka trade materialize between now and the NHL draft once again another disgruntled star who is just 23 years of age and this also bolds well for the Rangers because you want to bring in youth you want to bring in speed Rossi Purka these are some options not saying you’re going to get both not even saying you’re going to get one of them but at least there are some options out there guys and when you have flexibility like the Rangers at least capwise anything could happen when you have a general manager like Chris Drury who’s very impulsive anything can happen and when he sets his sight on a player he likes he gets him he hasn’t been right all the time he’s made some bad moves here didn’t handle certain situations well but like I said an impulsive GM a GM that when he sets his sight on a particular player he will make sure he gets that player so like I said Marco Rossi JJ Purka Vladislav Gaov these guys have been linked to the Rangers the entire off season guys but getting back to Jason Robertson here this would be an amazing move for the Rangers you’d be able to afford him at $7.75 million and then you could extend him next year when he’s in RFA when he’s due to make about $10 million the Rangers would certainly be able to afford that as well because the Rangers will have our Tammy Paneran coming off the books ne next off season which is about $12 million so even if you extended Jason Robertson to a 10 million AAV deal he’d still be making less than our Tammy Paneran coming off the books just about $2 million less AAV and like I said this is a guy that’s just turning 25 years old a left wing a position of need for the Rangers especially next season when Paneran won’t be here krider no longer here now I know what a lot of you guys are thinking you can’t just get Jason Robertson you got to give up something to get something what could you trade for him now look Darius and I have been in lock step we want Will Culie on this team moving forward he exemplifies everything a New York Ranger should look like he’s happy here he wants to be here he’s been productive he more than doubled his point total this past season compared to last season very durable but guys in order to get something you have to give up something now in a Jason Robertson deal Will Culie as difficult as this is going to be as hard as this is going to be for me to say he can’t be off the table guys he is practically off the table for everybody else the Purkas the Marco Rossis of the world but when it comes to Jason Robertson he simply can’t be off the table i love Will Culie but Jason Robertson is elite if you put him with a JT Miller at center who is going to push the pace who’s going to control the puck who’s going to play with that physicality and speed who’s going to create scoring chances for Jason Robertson who can finish at any level in front of the net deflecting pucks one-times wrist shots breakaways you have to do it you’d have to at least consider trading Will guys now the Dallas Stars can’t take on a bunch of cap space but if the Rangers were to lock up Will here for about $3.4 million it could work for Dallas they’ll get a productive left wing to replace Robertson who is also young who plays the same position they’d be able to alleviate some of that cap space because they’d free up about four and a half$5 million if that trade were to go down this could make sense for both sides guys like I said I love Will Coulie but the Rangers need to bring in a star we’ve seen the Rangers do this the Rick Nashes of the world few years later the Arti Panerens of the world both of these guys were 28 when they traded for him jason Robertson just turning 25 years old he’s even younger with more potential like I said on the line with JT Miller even Vincent Troche the guy could take another leap and next off seasonason the Rangers will have over $43 million to play with not only could you lock up Jason Robertson for about $10 million AAV you’d be able to make a legit offer on Conor McDavid and give him whatever he wants now I know it sounds crazy but it’s true the Rangers have a lot to offer the Rangers have a lot of cap space to offer so the Rangers could certainly make that happen and I know there was a lot of you in the comments after Darius and I made our Conor McDavid video yesterday saying that you know it can’t happen it’s not actually reported you know no way in hell the Rangers could pull that off i just want to show you a report here guys you don’t have to take Darius and I’s word for it you could take Pierre LeBron this is yesterday at 5:00 Eastern if and when McDavid ever leaves it’s a short list of markets that I believe would be a fit the Kings Rangers Blackhawks Stars etc that comes from The Athletic he is a hockey insider for the Athletic and guys until Conor McDavid puts that pen to paper anything is possible you think he wants to keep losing in the Stanley Cup final it’s a loaded Western Conference it is hard to make it to the Stanley Cup final two years in a two years in a row let alone three years i don’t believe the Oilers will be back in the Stanley Cup i don’t believe their team will be as good this upcoming season so like I said if NHL insiders are going are going to report this type of information if Conor McDavid doesn’t put pen to paper soon we’re going to continue talking about it guys it is absolutely possible that McDavid could make his debut at Madison Square Garden next season so like I said guys please leave your comments down below i want to hear what you guys have to say about a potentially acquiring Jason Robertson like I said before we get to next off season got to focus on this offseason jason Robertson would be a beautiful addition to the New York Rangers in my opinion i want to hear what you guys have to think about Will Culie would you guys trade Will Coulie would you guys even consider putting Will Coulie in the deal like I said Will is virtually untouchable but when it comes to Jason Robertson I would consider it not JJ Purka not Marco Rossi not Bo Byum not those type of guys when it comes to Jason Robertson I would at least consider putting Will Culie in that deal but that’s going to do it here today for Rangers Digest another episode in the books and look more content is coming your way enjoy the rest of your weekend and a quick reminder once again that if you haven’t hit that free subscribe button hit that free subscribe button so you 1. I'd never move Cuylle for anyone not named McDavid but we'll see how it all goes down. Speaking of which Kings and Rangers are the only teams he'd move to, just like the Great One

  2. I agree, if they trade Cullye, im done. Rather send other pieces and pick for him if that works.
Cullye schneider perrault othmann, no . Id consider berard, lafren, pick. Lafren is a tough one but…

  3. Here we go, you are out of your mind trading cullye. The one productive, hard nose player and you woukd guve him up? For who, a gyy whos talented, bjt hes soft. We need grit!!! Did you watch the panthers?

  4. Bro Dallas is not in that bad of a spot the cap is going up nill will make the moves needed, it looks rough at the moment but he has a plan, he is one of if not the best gm in the nhl he will make it work.

  5. Vladislav this year was his best year GP-82 G- 5 ASST-25 PTS- 30 PIM-28 but i just don't get why so hyped on this player.
    J.J. Peterka GP-77 G- 27 A- 41 PTS-68 I hope they pick him up.
    Jason Robertson GP-82 G- 35 A-45 PTS-80 This player is a must.
Nothing sounds crazy it's a must to make these no brainer moves. Peace

  6. What's hilarious is that this would actually be a worthwhile trade but ranger fans love playing favorites like it's objective. or at least the fans of this channel. They always expect to trade trash for all-stars, then when the idea of trading a good player for a great layer comes up, its a terrible deal.

  7. Drury is a cancer to this team. Last good move he made was to bring Panarin to team. He’s a jerk for not extending his contract now
