[BREAKING NEWS] Shams report: Phoenix Suns trade Kevin Durant to Rockets in blockbuster deal

there kevin Durant is heading to the Houston Rockets that’s according to ESPN the 15time all-star joins a Rocket team that’s coming off their first 50 win season since 2020 and is looking to become a true contender in the West in exchange for Durant Phoenix will receive a package that includes Jaylen Green Dylan Brooks and the number 10 overall pick in this year’s draft and five second round picks and with that for more coverage on this crazy breaking news we have in the gold hammer himself Tim Doyle and and Tim this is wild it’s it’s game seven of the NBA Finals and this is the news that comes out and when you look at someone like Kevin Durant he is an all-star many years over he’s the two-time finals MVP what does this mean for this stage of his career i absolutely love this for the Houston Rockets this is what they needed Katie they did not have a closer and one thing we know about Kevin Durant is the guy can fill up the basket he’s one of the greatest scorers in the history of the game 17 years in the NBA averaging 27 points a game over the course of his career and Houston was missing this key piece they have an established big guy who’s an amazing passer and can do so many other things in Shagon they have an old veteran point guard who’s been through the wars won an NBA championship and Fred Van Bleet and they have a young superstar an Aean Thompson who has all this potential but he struggles to shoot the ball from the perimeter what a great guy for Aean Thompson to learn from in one of the all-time greats Kevin Durant so they already have a team that locks up defensively at this point in his career he may not be the elite defender that he once was but this is an amazing fit they were second in the Western Conference and now they get one of the all-time greats i think they have to be considered a big time title contender immediately yeah and you look at someone like Kevin Durant he may not be a spring chicken anymore but he is still easy money sniper one of the best in the NBA and Tim a lot of blame can go on the Suns here for the end of the Kevin Durant era but how do they pick up the pieces here they got a lot of draft picks coming in they got some good players coming in what do you think two words hold on because this is going to get this is about to be the roller coaster there in Phoenix i mean you know they brought in new ownership matt Ishbia Michigan State former player for Tom Mizo there you know guys made a ton of money in the business world he owns the team and if you’re a Suns fan like he tried like I I I didn’t love like the way he was kind of cooking up his meal but they tried like they brought in Bradley Beal they got Kevin Durant it didn’t fit with Devin Booker and now we’re going to watch how this all kind of plays out so they’re stockpiling picks here i don’t think it makes sense to have Jaylen Green and Devin Booker um and Bradley Beal like so watch hold on like this is going to start kind of ping ponging another way um you know Devin Booker is a guy that a lot of teams would have their eyes on you’re looking at you know Kevin Durant amongst you know some of the greatest of all time and Wilt and Kareem that’s all they’re known as so um yeah Durant at this point I I I Katie I had no idea what he was going to do because he is kind of a you know an interesting figure in the NBA and wasn’t really sure where he was going to end up as far as fit this is like the most perfect fit they’re really close they’re championship contenders they need a closer they need someone who could score the I of all the teams in the NBA this would be my number one fit for Kevin Durant after that was probably Memphis but I even I thought that was a bit of a long shot so as for Phoenix I think their um draft is going to be crazy interesting i I think they’re going to be moving a lot of parts okay moving a lot of parts there one last question for you Timmy D what is your reaction to this news trading someone like Kevin Durant on the day of a game seven in the NBA finals something we’ve only had twice in the last decade well one thing about the NBA is the drama is amazing sometimes the product during the regular season could be uh you know a little long-winded i think the NBA needs to make some major changes to the rules and you know baseball you couldn’t get more archic than baseball i think they made the game a much better product with the pitch clock i think some drastic changes have to happen in the world of basketball to improve the oncourt product i I really feel that I think it’s first would be the target score the way every game has a game-winning shot like the Hallebertton shot in game one how much drama did they bring heck how many times has the Pacers made throughout the playoffs and I think this playoffs has been awesome ratings may not say the same but I think the games themselves have been fantastic so um the drama in the NBA oh the drama in the NBA is better than the drama in the NFL like if you had like a soap opera level the NBA soap opera is so much better than the NFL soap opera so I know a lot of people disagree me with that but uh the NBA the drama is great i think they need to kind of tinker with the product a little bit and they are with the All-Star game with USA versus the world i I think the basketball needs some dramatic changes in order to capture uh the younger audience as well as to bring maybe people back to the game so um yeah it’s great the drama in the NBA is awesome we just got to improve the product a little bit yeah the drama in the NBA is unmatched he had that crazy Luca trade going down right at the deadline and then we’ve got Kevin Durant on the eve of a game seven in the finals uh glad you were here to break it all down with us Timmy D enjoy the game tonight as well and and here’s one more thing talking about these trade details well the Rockets they got Kevin Durant that is a twotime finals MVP and about 15 years of being an all-star and the Suns are getting Jaylen Green and Dylan Brooks the number 10 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft let’s go to Trevor that’s right the homie and sports betting analyst Tyler Folder slides through now to give us some numbers inside the numbers what are your best bets for game seven here this evening i got four of them for you Trevor for game seven i mean it’s a game seven so you might as well have a full menu to choose from let’s start with the side i kind of agree with what Hannah was saying there hard to imagine this being a blowout even at Paycom center so I’ll take the Pacers plus the 6 and 1 half points i can rely on Rick Carile’s championship experience i can rely on the depth and tenacity of this Pacers team to make this a tight game win lose or draw as far as the total I want to tell you all about a trend we saw those five previous game sevens over the last 30 years earlier in this segment all five of those games went under the closing total by an average of almost 15 points per game in a game seven environment scoring is hard refs swallow their whistles guys are playing extra hard on defense minutes are up i see this being a lowercoring game relative to expectation despite that though I think we can rely on SGA to do what he has always done basically in this postseason give us a 30 piece in 12 home playoff games he has scored 30 plus in 10 of those each of the last 10 as a matter of fact he’s got a 10ame home 30-point playoff streak and then I’ll wrap it up with Tyrese Hallebertton so impressed with what he’s done throughout this entire postseason what he did in game six may have been the most impressive thing I’ve seen thus far given his injury situation to go out there and give the Thunder 14 points in just a little over 20 minutes how about just 10 points tonight i know it’s difficult on the road where OKC plays dominant defense but I think Tyrese is going to give us a little of that magic again and give us 10 plus points so Trevor if you want to add all that up a secret menu item at ESPN bet you can wager right now these four legs Pacers plus the points under SGA 30 and Tyresese 10 plus 640 is the price just wager responsibly dude I I love the low expectations for Tyrese Hallebertton similar to the low expectations that the Pacers had before this season they were 50 to1 to of lifting up the Larry O’Brien Trophy longest preseason odds for any champion in the last 40 seasons we’ll see if they can get it done tonight tyler we appreciate it as always get them all right now i know okay hey [Applause] Foreign speech foreign speech foreign speech [Music] video okay open [Applause] [Applause] is Leave it alone [Applause] [Applause] see ch the kaka

  1. Knicks should trade for Kyrie now I think McBride or Payne and Precious plus a 2nd round pick or two for Kyrie and a big man Dallas willing to part with cough cough J Kidd as new head coach could be fair depending on money number conversation

  2. Damn it I should have made a bet

I was telling everybody that Kevin Durant was going to be traded before game 7, on the day of game 7

Damn I would have made a lot of money

    Y so serious ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿƒ

  3. Good trade for Houston. They were bad for a couple of years but received assets. This the value of having that and 2nd rds arenโ€™t always great. DB hurts but they have Tari n Bari. Plus Reed and cam . The importance of assests!!!

  4. They still wonโ€™t win a title. I believe the West is just too deep. But it still will get them further and they wonโ€™t get eliminated in the 1st round. It does make them more interesting though. I do think it makes them Western Conference contenders but not to the finals. They didnโ€™t really give up a lot because it was second round picks

  5. Smh KD is a great player but heโ€™s gonna be in the same situation James harden was in. The rockets was missing a peace until they got harden and we still failed.

  6. Guys we are are about to see really what it is Kevin can do!!!depending on the outcome of this situation in his career it will either put him as a definition conversation piece in the goat debate or notโ€ฆ

  7. Let's see these Teams not Learning, Look at all the teams that traded to get Paul George, two of those Teams are in the Finals, Young Men's League! Then we saw the same thing to get Rudy Gobert! Who is learning from these trades?

Durant again on the move well let's see what will happen in Houston?
    Brooklyn Nets 4 years
Phoenix Suns 2 or 3 years
    Now Houston Rockets
At least there was success in Golden State!
