The Rangers MASTER PLAN has been REVEALED…

rangers digest more cross in the night through the chaos we rise hold on tight banging boards adrenaline night rangers digest our battle our fight [Applause] dares slicing dreams so clear blue red and white this is the we through blood and sweat this story is told the ice turns fire cold heart turn [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] around [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] chris Drury and the New York Rangers master plan has been revealed and it’s starting to unravel in front of our very eyes we got just a glimpse of it this morning with Matt Rempy’s new contract extension we will get to that in this stream of course we’re going to talk about Will Coulie Keandre Miller because there’s some crazy new updates as it pertains to Keandre Miller and Mike Sullivan and what Mike Sullivan thinks of Keandre Miller i’ll just tweet tease it at that we’ll get to that later in the live stream of course and a bunch of other stuff let us know in the comments as well in the chat box what you want us to cover i see a couple new faces here welcome in Preston and of course everybody else watching right now and anybody who joined us last week we appreciate you as well but Brett let’s get right into it first order of business obviously this morning Matt Rempy signs a new contract extension for $975,000 i think pretty tidy work he’s really cleaned up his game he’s taken it to a new level and I think he’s just going to continue to do that he’s only 23 i believe he’s going to turn uh 23 excuse me so what did you think of the signing and you know we’ll we’ll cover that quickly and we got a lot of other stuff to get to obviously Will is probably going to take a big chunk of this live stream maybe even Miller as well but uh I’m really happy i Matt Rempy I’ve always loved him and I’m glad that he’s resigned i think it was just a matter of time anyway yeah Darius this is a great move bringing Matt Rempy back to the Rangers this is a lowrisk highreward move for the Rangers if I ever saw one because you know we were talking about Carson Susi in a previous video this is a very big guy defenseman 6’5 well over 200 pounds and you referred to him as a rock and look when I think about Matt Rempy that guy is a rock he is just going to keep rolling down and knocking you if you don’t get out of the way he’s going to run you over so you better get the you know what out of the way because Matt Rempy he is not sorry he’s unapologetic igor Shisturkin was once quoted saying that he feels a piece of mind when he sees Matt Rempy on the ice because he knows that if anybody gets too close to him or messes with one of his teammates Matt Rempy is going to be there to pick up the pieces you do not want to mess with this guy this is going to be you know we’ve spoken about players that are available this off season and I keep saying the Rangers need to bring in more skill more talent more guys that could wreak havoc on a hockey game but that is exactly what Matt Rey does just in a different way he is going to wreak havoc especially on that fourth line and Darius this is a great move and you mentioned Will we’re going to get into that later on but it is great to see Reppy back in a Rangers uniform like I said it’s a lowrisk highreward move it doesn’t eat into our cap situation too much we still have plenty of money to play with here Darius moving forward so a very nice start to the off season well not to the offseason we’ve seen some transactions made here but retaining one of our own it’s very nice to see yeah absolutely and I think that again it was just a matter of time with Matt Rempy for me they were going to get it done it was just a question of how long was the contract going to be and you know the AAV and we got our answer today okay and one thing that nobody’s really talking about this is a 2-year contract that’s great value really really good value because he’s taken a step every single season that he’s been here and again last year I I will say that after the suspension he looked like a completely different player he looked awesome on the fourth line and uh one thing that I want to get into in the stream as well that even Jim Cernney has been talking about and he does some fantastic uh articles writing for the Rangers as well is that they kind of have an identity line they still have to sign Adam Edstrom but they kind of have an identity line right now that you kind of know what you’re going to get with Sam Carrick obviously Matt Rempy and Adam Edstrom and I would argue in January they might have been the team’s best line last season so you know they they do have a bit of a um nice little thing going there with them but one thing you know obviously this is the contract if you want to uh you know take this in obviously the salary kind of differs yeartoear in terms of base salary but it’s all the same in terms of AEV and what it costs towards the cap uh and obviously uh you know the Rangers have a bit of an identity line now which again from Jim Cernney i thought it was an interesting article we can kind of dive into Mika’s advantage i wanted to touch on this because obviously we’re going to spend a lot of time on Will Culie and of course Kandre Miller i see everybody in the chat already talking about Keandre Miller we will get there i promise you that and shout out Allison and a couple others i recognize you from last week in our first stream as well so welcome back into the stream but um you know Frank Sarali is saying I haven’t heard Mik Zabanagad’s name out there he’s made it clear he doesn’t have interest in moving anyway his wife came out the other day and said that you know the newspapers are making things up stuff like that i don’t think he wants to leave what do you make of this um you know I don’t think it’s the the worst thing in the world if he stays you know freeing up that salary cap space and going out and getting a very good young star like a JJ Purka would be fantastic obviously but if he stays if he’s playing the wing I think that there is a recipe for success at least next season because you know when he was on the wing when he was on JT Miller’s wing he was playing really well last season yeah Darius that’s a great point and and let’s just call it what it is anybody playing the wing with JT Miller is going to have success i mean JT Miller is an absolute dog it’s great to have him back in New York the guy has been great you know whatever happened in Vancouver we spoke about this in a previous live stream i mean the guy wants to win i I I can’t help that the Canucks didn’t want to win as bad as JT Miller but you know calling him a cancer whatever the media was trying to portray him complete nonsense complete garbage jt Miller is with the Rangers he wants to win this past season pissed him off more than anybody you could believe that and Mika Zabanagad this report right here Frank Zeravelli very respected and you know he says he haven’t he hasn’t heard Mika Zabanagad’s name out there but I’m just not buying it Darius i’m really not buying it and I know Ma doesn’t want to move but we’ve spoken about Chris Drury till we’re blew in the face here on the channel guy is unpredictable you can’t put anything past Chris Drury and you just have to read the tidbits here guys what happened this past season what is happening this off season it doesn’t matter what Sarah or Staple or Freriedman says drury could wake up one morning and he could call Me and you know what i don’t want Mika he’ll force him out he’ll force him out of town if he really wants to so I know they flew you know uh Sullivan out to Sweden you know uh whatever that situation was but you know look I’m not buying it and I’m going to continue to have that stance Darius i really believe that Ma is not safe here i don’t think anybody is safe quite frankly with uh here so you know Drury wants to change the chemistry mika is part of that chemistry guys we’ve seen reports consistently the chemistry was not there it’s not good for a flowing working environment and Mika has been a big part of this culture a big part of this chemistry trouba gone goodro gone krider gone ma I’m telling you guys you guys really you would be foolish not to really believe that Ma could be on the move here not saying it’s going to happen but I’m just saying don’t rule it out you can’t rule it out so you know I I get the report i respect Frank Cavelli he’s one of the great insiders and we’ll get into it further on in the video Darius but Mika is certainly on the table in my mind i’m not in Chris Drury’s head i’m just looking at his actions and what he’s shown me so far as general manager of the Rangers is nothing is off the table so let’s not completely rule that out quite yet yeah yeah and I’ve talked about it you know on our last live stream we’ve talked about it in videos when Chris Shay fixates on something in particular that he wants to get done he will get it done and I think you’re right i mean will Mika Zabanagad be moved i I don’t know it’s probably less likely uh that he will get moved than he will this off seasonason or sorry that he won’t get moved that he will uh this off season but I think you would be foolish to think that they’re not going to explore it if Chris J is not going to call him and be like “Uh what would you think of this?” Right something like that at least have that conversation but I wonder if they’ve already sorted that out and they’ve you know kind of made their bed and they’re like “Listen we are going to keep you.” Obviously Mike Sullivan flew over like you mentioned to Sweden to talk with him these are all things that are pretty normal in my mind just see where his head’s at see how he’s feeling about the team you know and if it’s something that doesn’t align they can make a move there so I wouldn’t say that it’s all said and done yet i think that Chris Jury’s going to explore everything to try and make this team better and you know speaking of everything to try and make this team better um this is also from Frank Sarah Valley and we can shift gears here you know I do want to talk about Kulie but I think KARE Miller I’ve seen it in the chat probably a bigger story right now because there’s a lot flying out there around him this was a new report from late last night it actually came out during the Stanley Cup final i would say congratulations to the Florida Panthers but I don’t want to wish them cong congratulations and I hope that the Rangers build up a team that can either a take them down or win the Stanley Cup soon but um there there is interest that exists in Keandre Miller um and it is 12 to 15 teams around the league and obviously a lot of people are saying hey if half the league is interested in this player maybe you shouldn’t give up the player but uh you know there’s something else that’s come out and I wanted to touch on this Brett that apparently Mike Sullivan hates this player maybe not you know personally but feels like he can’t work with this player this is an actual report we’re going to cover it in a video in the future as well but an actual report that came out that Mike Sullivan is not a big fan of Kandre Miller does not want him on the squad and I don’t think Chris Sher wants him on the squad either so he’s going to be moved one way or another either they let him get offer sheetated or they try to move him obviously if there’s 12 to 15 teams interested they’re going to trade him it’s just a matter of what you’re getting back right at this point so um and again from Frank Sarah Valley the interest that exists in Keandre Miller trumps what the New York Rangers think he might be to their team so clearly they’re going to get something pretty significant back that they can either flip or use on the team which I think is exciting but one thing’s for sure I want your take on this first of all one thing’s for sure Kandre Miller is gone one way or another yeah Keandre Miller is as good as gone and I get the interest around the league i mean he’s still a young player you know he’s shown flashes but you know guys we got to get over it like he’s 25 years old this guy’s not a rookie he’s been here for half a decade already he’s been here for half a decade it just hasn’t happened for Keandre Miller maybe it will happen somewhere else but as far as I’m concerned it’s never going to happen with the Rangers and you mentioned Mike Sullivan hating this player you know not personally and you know what i really can’t blame Mike Sullivan because you and I have spoken about this off air i’ve heard you speak about this in videos keandre Miller he’s got the tools he’s got the skill he’s even shown it in spurts and flashes the guy doesn’t have any hockey IQ he doesn’t have a clue you know it’s really a shame because this is he’s got all the physical traits he’s got the skill but you know Darius you can’t teach IQ in any sport and Mike Sullivan has developed younger players during his Pittsburgh days but you know you could teach skill you could work on your skill work on your craft but you can’t teach hockey IQ this is a really tough relentless sport and Keandre Miller been in the league five seasons already and he just can’t put the pieces together like I said the pieces are there the IQ is not there and it’s extremely concerning you know maybe another team sees the Rangers and says “Hey look they really want to move off this player maybe we could like buy low you know on this player bring them in not give up too much to get them see what we could do with them you know maybe a team that’s on the rise looking to take a gamble but as far as for the Rangers you know this story is over you know it’s it’s done and Mike Sullivan is here for a reason and if your head coach don’t want him then you know the Rangers brought him in for a reason two-time Stanley Cup head coach i got to trust Sullivan on this one if he doesn’t want Keandre Miller then it’s time to move on and I really think the writing’s on the wall there we may even see it happen before July 1st yeah and I think it’s going to have to be before July 1 because if there’s 12 to 15 teams that are interested you want to trade him before he gets to offer sheet territory so I think it’s coming down soon i think they want clarity on what the team looks like soon or at least a rough idea in terms of who’s in who’s out what does the salary cap look like i think Carson Susi is also going to get traded in the next few days they’re going to have to offload that contract from everything we’re hearing Will Culie is going to make exactly what Carson Susi holds right now in terms of cap space so they’re going to move him out it just makes sense at this point they’re going to take a net loss on it it is what it is it was a horrible trade i’m you know I said it was a decent trade at the time i’ll wear that egg on my head I guess at this point but um you know still sometimes you lose trades and that’s what it is you have to free up that salary cap space and I do want to answer in terms of Keandre Miller a couple things that you know are out there in the chat that I’m seeing right now first of all Mike um these are all sourced this is from Frank Sarah Valley of Daily Face Off and everything that we report here on the channel is usually from you know one of these sources one of these insiders Vince McAogano or Molly Walker as well who are around the team all the time so this is actually from Frank Sarah Valley that these teams are interested in Keandre Miller and you know Allison’s wondering Brett because I’m I’m pretty interested about this too and you know I’ve been thinking about it for the last couple minutes but you know is there a world where you still keep Kandre Miller and I think that there was at some point before Mike Sullivan was hired but as time has kind of gone on now you know I thought it was about money at first you know you can’t give him a large contract extension doesn’t make sense maybe bring him back on a bridge you know uh if you can’t find somebody who’s better bring him back you know just retain his services don’t give him up for the you know just don’t trade him for the sake of trading him essentially but the more I think about it the more I think it’s not a fit like you just alluded to you know we’ve been talking about it for a long time this is a player that has literally everything you want in a player he has all the tools but for some reason hasn’t been able to put it together in the last 5 years he has experience playing in you know big games just can’t put it together doesn’t have hockey IQ if you look at the Florida Panthers they’re all bought into their system they all have high hockey IQ even if they’re not that skilled they’re you know they’re bought into the game plan and they’re playing the game the right way so that’s something I don’t see from KAR Miller so is there any world at this point that you would keep him because honestly I I think I’m over it personally i think I know that he’s out the door made peace with it and I think that they’re going to try and get better in different areas uh obviously on defense but in terms of like a number one pairing defenseman yeah well it doesn’t look like it it doesn’t feel like it and before I get to before I get to the question there you you mentioned the Florida Panthers you know just taking a look at their success over these past few years i mean their third and fourth line is there anybody on their line can anybody point out somebody on that third and fourth line that’s making over a million dollars i’m not sure that there is no I see a lot of six figure contracts on that third and fourth line so the Rangers got to get with the times here because and that’s going to bring us We still have more to touch on with Ma i’m not going to go down that rabbit hole quite yet but that just solidifies the point that we’ve been making darius who in the world is going to pay a third line player $8.5 million mika Zabanagad nearly $9 million to play on your third line in what world is that good business in what world is that what a healthy hockey franchise would do but to get back to the question that’s a great question from Allison and thank you for that question but Keandre Miller the only world that I see him back with the New York Rangers and this is a stance that I’ve held for a while and I actually I hate this if the Rangers did this I would hate this more than bringing Keandre Miller back if you’re trading Keandre Miller just to trade him just to offload that salary like with Chris Krider it made sense with Mika Zabanaget it may even make sense but trading Keandre Miller just to offload that salary to sign Vladis Vladislav Gabricov or Ivan Prover who you and I sort of have a similar stance on Darius i know you’re more pro Gabricov than I am and I am also more pro Gabricov than Prover 100% i mean Ivan Prover if they signed him that would be a complete and utter disaster if it was Prover I mean Gabricov their names are so similar here gav if it were Gabricov you could justify it right you know there’ll be some people that love it there’ll be some people that hate it but if you’re going to go one way or the other give me Gabricov over Prover and at least Gabricov is on the Kings you know this is a playoff contender year in year out he was a big part of that team but if you’re trading Kandre Miller just to bring in one of those overpriced free agent defenseman while they may be good defenseman especially Gabricov very good defenseman I am not in the business of just shipping Kandre Miller out of town to bring in a 29year-old that’s going to get a massive massive contract because we’ve spoken about it Daryus this free agent class is scarce these guys look like Braden Point you know in this free agent class because that’s how bad it is there are the big fish in a little pond so if I’m the Rangers it’s bad business these two guys are going to handicap your salary situation this year and moving forward if I’m the Rangers I don’t do it i’d rather hold on to Keandre Miller in that scenario but to answer the question that is the only world where I see Kandre Miller back with the Rangers at least in my world maybe not in Chris Drury’s world but in my world that’s the only scenario he would return well we all know that Chris Jury lives on a different planet anyway right so it would be a different world but uh no I think that’s a great point but you know if I can indulge for a second and you know my perfect world and what I think Chris Jury is planning to do this off season because a lot of people are asking like Joseph you know who’s going to play in these spots if they continue to trade these players so what I think is going to happen or at least what they’re trying to do is I think they’re trying to move Carson Susi for literally anything even if they have to strap a draft pick to it on a rocket and send it somewhere somewhere else I think they’re trying to do that so I think they’re going to try and offload Carson Susie with the money that you’re saving from Carson Susi you’re going to sign Will so essentially cancels out and I’ll bring up what their cap their current cap hit is um they have about $14 million in cap space right now so I think they’re going to strap Carson Susie to a rocket send him anywhere else again with that money sign Will Coulie and then they’re going to try to trade Keandre Miller i don’t know what they’re getting back in return for him maybe it’s futures some type of asset i think they’re going to flip that to go out and get a differencem forward and I I think that they’re going to sign Gabricov to a $7 million contract as well and I wouldn’t put it past Chris Jury to at least explore what uh a Mika Zabanagad trade would look like again Mika Zabanad has the final say everybody else did too that has a no movement clause right they all did so uh you know if Chris Jay wants to get something done he’s going to try to do it whether it’s ethical or not but I think it’s interesting who fills in those spots now if Gabricov comes in you’re still missing a left defenseman right now vakenan I thought he was okay last year maybe he can play on the third pairing you still have Zack Jones i’m a big big big fan of Zack Jones like I thought he’s played fantastic when he’s been in the NHL so he’s an option i feel like this narrative about him being too small is doesn’t really work with him like we’ve seen that he plays really well i am curious for your thoughts on that Brett but you know at least just speaking for myself personally I think he’s a great player you also have Matthew Robertson who made his NHL debut finally at the end of last year he can be an option maybe not a full-time option but you know moving if you’re looking towards the future you would hope that some of these guys progress to actually become NHL players at some point so he could be an option so again I think they have a lot I think there’s a lot of moving pieces still coming i think they’re definitely trading Carson Susi this week keandre Miller’s on his way out either they’re filling in those spots with you know Zack Jones and Matthew Robertson or they’re going to go out and get like a Gavov or a Prov like you mentioned again I think Gavraov depending on the capit is probably the better player in that spot at least but there I think there’s a lot of moving pieces and they still have quite a bit of cap space to you know to use and they can move off players still if they want like Gabe Perau i wonder if he makes the team next year right out of camp right like they can move another forward to kind of shed some cap so it’s going to be uh going to be interesting but I think they’re in a a decent spot right now as long as everything kind of goes according to plan which I think that’s the plan at least from everything that we’ve uh seen so far yeah and it’s a great question from Joseph and you know I’ve seen a lot of Rangers fans concerned because like you know we have been talking about you know moving players off the team and we haven’t really brought any players in yet that will obviously change but you know the Rangers are moving off these players because they need to create that flexibility especially financially to give themselves the ammunition to fill those roster spots Joseph and I get it i get the concern you know we just lost Chris Crowder just lost our second line left wing you know that’s a big deal you know the Rangers are going to have to find a way to replace that you know Keandre Miller we’re losing a top defenseman even in his worst year he could still be a top four defenseman on any team in the NHL which is a testament to him but like I said he has shown flashes it’s just these last three years Darius he’s on the decline we’re not in the business of doing that even though he’s a younger player we want ascending players but Joseph I know we have a lot of roster spots to fill here but the Rangers with their cap situation they have flexibility there the Rangers like you said Darius could flip some prospects could flip that draft pick the Rangers just brought in a prospect Carrie Terrence from Anaheim we’ll see what they end up doing with that and there are some free agent options look I don’t like Gabriov i don’t like Prov but they are good defenseman they are options for those Ranger fans and if Chris Jury wants to bring in one of those guys to play on the first line by all means he has the right to do that i’m just saying I wouldn’t do that and if you don’t want to go that route would if you rather go a different route like I would bring in a Bo Byum who could play the left side and I know there’s people out there oh I don’t want to put Bo Byum with Adam Fox two smaller defenseman not exactly the most physical pairing on that first line i get that argument but my counterargument to that would be okay you don’t need to put Bo Byum on that first line with Adam Fox what if we put Braden Schneider on that first line with Adam Fox and look I know Yeah I know there are a lot of people There are fans that love Braden Schneider and there are other fans that hate Braden Schneider they’ll bring up the fact that his giveaway takeaway ratio is worse than Keandre Miller and he doesn’t play against top lines that argument is certainly fair my counterargument to that guys is that what if you watch the Rangers and you watch them closely and you compare the takeaway and giveaway ratio while Braden Schneider’s may be higher maybe worse than Keandre Miller’s what I seem to notice is every time Keandre Miller loses the puck makes a boneheaded play it feels like it’s the most crucial point of the hockey game and that just goes back to what we spoke about Daryus that hockey IQ it’s lacking it always comes at the most inopportune times for the Rangers it feels like there’s a minute minute 30 left in regulation when Keandre Miller makes a stupid play and then the other team goes off in transition and wins the game so we’re not in the business of having that i would like to see Brayden Schneider at least get an opportunity you know how do we know he can’t play the first line so maybe the Rangers have to explore that early before the season even starts but at least it’s an option he’s only making $2 million you know so why not experiment with that this is a very big physical player and to pair him with Adam Fox that would be a nice thing to see and then you put Bo Byum on that second line you put you pair him with a Will Borggan this is a very tough very physical second line right-handed defenseman that could work and Zack Jones I I I feel like he gets forgotten about here too darus I’m glad you made a video on him he’s also a very interesting option so the Rangers have to explore this early on well before the season starts but I just want to wrap this up with Joseph by saying I know it seems cloudy right now i know you may be a little nervous the Rangers aren’t really making any transactions yet in terms of bringing people in but that will change once they get their ducks in a row once they offload all the salary they want to offload they’ll go to town they’ll sign free agents they’ll trade they may even keep their draft pick and bring in a you know somebody at number 12 overall but you know things seem a little cloudy right now and I get that but there are certainly options on the table and there are intriguing options not just you know not just some bums that they’re going to bring in there are some real good players available and I’m sure the Rangers will like you said Darius Chris Drury will have his hand in every cookie jar so still got a long way to go stanley Cup just ended but Joseph thank you for the question it’s a great question yeah absolutely and he does have his hand in every single cookie jar and I do want to make some connections based off what you said as well one thing a lot of people first of all have forgotten about Zack Jones entirely that I’ve noticed and the interesting thing with Zack Jones is yes we’re penciling him into these roles and these spots he needs a contract as well they do need to sign him as well to make that happen so that’s another you know interesting thing into all of this one thing I did notice last season while it was a smaller sample size but when they were playing together the best by far defensive pairing for the New York Rangers was Zack Jones and Braden Schneider so I don’t know if they want to you know explore that again I don’t know what the defense pairings are going to look like but they were really good but you bring up another good point you know if you can’t find a number one defenseman what does Braden Schneider look like beside you know Adam Fox and then obviously maybe Zack Jones or someone else like a Bo Byum like you said like we’re kind of ruling out trades as well they can go make a trade they can package everything like a Carrie Terren maybe the the first pick that they have or you know something they can accumulate something in terms of assets and be like hey Buffalo here you go we’re going to take Bo Byum thank you very much we’re going to sign him to a contract extension we have the cap space to do that because he’s not going to make you know anything absurd or anything like that and now we have our second pairing defenseman alongside Will Borggan with a little bit of yin and yang with the offensive and defensive kind of uh theme going on there with the with the uh defense pairings and then that opens you up to maybe make a move on offense as well like you know add another piece so it’s going to be interesting another really good question here from Daniel and he said “Which prospects can we uh expect to see get a fulltime role next year?” So I mean there’s a couple I don’t even know if you’d classify some of them as prospects anymore but Brett Bard to me has been like unbelievable so I would imagine he I don’t know about full-time but I would imagine he’s in the NHL more often than not this season uh I do wonder if he can be like this team’s Brad Marshon a little bit plays a little bit on the edge i like it i want to see him and what he can do in the playoffs he’s uh he’s pretty good i like what he’s shown but or what he’s shown but um you know obviously Matthew Robertson I feel like is going to get another look matt Remp is not a prospect anymore he’s going to be on the line in the lineup you know that gabe Perau I think is a huge wild card is he going to make the team out of camp like Brad how do you feel about that because those are a couple names at least to me that I think are you know you’re probably going to see more often than not but there’s a couple guys you know that were hovering between I didn’t even mention Brennan right like maybe he’s another guy who really looked good in the second half that maybe could stick around with the team you know full time yeah another great question uh from Daniel there and look I mean Matthew Robertson so glad you brought his name up because you know you say Zack Jones has been completely forgotten about i feel like Matthew Robertson has been completely forgotten about here i mean this is a big physical defenseman this is a guy that could really help out the Rangers not only that but this is a guy who was here basically I get it for a cup of coffee but when he was here he was good so we need to understand that this guy was a plus when he was on the ice and I know that may seem minuscule but let’s face it this past season you look up and down the stat sheet lot of minuses lot of minuses on that roster we only have a few pluses the Adam Foxes of the world the Matt Rempies of the world only a few pluses on the Rangers obviously Chris Cry was a complete disaster with his you know so Matthew Robertson very intriguing i would like to see him get a little run on defense there for the Rangers this year cuz like I said when he was here he was good wasn’t long but he was good and then you brought up Brett Bard i like Brett Bard a lot as well not just because he has my first name but you mentioned Brad Marshon such a great comparison comparison darius this guy is is tough he’s gritty he’s one of those guys that like we’ve spoken about he may not have the skill of an Arti Paneran a guy that’s just gifted with that skill but he’s going to work his you know what off he’s going to work his tail off and he really wants to make his name known and be on this roster and he’s going to do whatever he can to do that and I think the Rangers need more of that attitude and that’s why I like the Matt Rempy uh resigning because you know the Rangers a lot of skill on the surface a lot of talent but the effort just wasn’t there and it really ticked me off this last season Darius because I don’t know what it was i don’t know if they quit on Peter Lavlet i don’t know if it was the Trouba situation but this team and the Crider Budro but this team just lacked a certain type of effort i I I just didn’t it was tough to watch them this year you know it just seemed like they didn’t care so I’m in the business of definitely bringing in some guys who are gonna fight quite frankly just to be on the fourth line just to be on the third line defense like these guys are just fighting to make the team and I and and like I alluded to earlier Florida Panthers third and fourth line please point out a player making millions of dollars because I don’t see it i see a lot of six figures so those are grinders those are that’s physicality that’s what wins in the Stanley Cup we’ve seen it with Florida i mean it’s just a total different brand of hockey it’s like when I’m watching that Stanley Cup I said to myself were the Rangers playing in the same league this past season because it’s like a total That’s what real hockey looks like Darius that’s what real physical hockey looks like it’s grueling it’s tough and I just didn’t see it from the Rangers this past season but that is a great question i do think there is a world where we could see both Matthew Robertson and Brett Bard on this roster this season especially Robertson because this guy was already on the team and I expect him to get more run this current season absolutely and I think that you know uh Link just brought up a great point that you can’t teach hard work and Bard Rey and Coulie have that it’s in their DNA and you can see it and the one reason that I think at least myself why I love Matt Rempy so much is because he’s definitely cleaned up his game since that eightgame suspension first of all but last season you know with the opportunity making the NHL and of course he was fighting pretty much everyone he was challenging everyone he was given that opportunity and then coming into training camp he knew that he had to improve in certain areas and he went out he was training with Chris Krider he was training with George Lorac he was trying to get better in all areas and you know if you put in that work fans are going to love you for it and it’s going to pay off on the ice and again I thought Matt Rempy was very effective in his role the second half of the season so uh I think he’s going to take another step in that way and I don’t know if I’m you know overstepping here when I say that I think at least personally Brett Bard has overstepped Brennan Oman on the depth chart like you know heading into next season just because he scored like you could see that he scored a couple goals last year he’s in on the forche despite his size like you were saying he was tough to play against he’s gritty he’s bringing all those physical elements to the lineup and that’s kind of why I was comparing him to Brad Marshon because while Brad Marshon’s not the biggest player he plays like he’s big right like it’s tough to knock him off the puck and tough to get under his skin and I kind of see that in Brett Bard so I feel like he’s a guy that again we can’t pencil in spots you can’t pen in spots yet of course we got to get to the draft free agency stuff like that but some of these young guys there’s a lot of really promising stuff that I’m seeing out of them and Matthew Robertson like you said he was here for a cup of coffee last season but you know he got his feet wet a little bit and he’s on his ELC and all that so should be uh should be fine but I’m excited to see what some of those guys bring next season and uh even Brennan Hoffman I’m not saying he’s a bad player or he’s you know regressing already or anything like that he’s shown really good flashes but you know I think it’s good when a prospect kind of comes out of nowhere and surprises you it’s really good stuff and then you know we don’t even know what they’re going to do with their pick this year they might not even keep it i mean Chris Jerry still has to make a decision on that i would imagine that they’re keeping it but maybe they flip it for somebody else maybe it’s Jason Robertson who apparently is still on the block if they can’t trade some other pieces and we’ve been talking about that right so um I don’t know if you kind of want to get into that maybe you know you know it’s nice to talk about the prospects and everything like that but actually before we move on great comment Raul i think that is your name no love to Edstrom on the channel ben he’s just not signed so we haven’t been talking about him obviously he needs to sign that contract but on the channel before I’ve given praise to Edstrom i think he’s great on the PK he’s so fast for his size he uses his physicality as well i don’t know if you have thoughts on Edstrom uh Brett before we kind of move on here but um he’s been great like using his size he knows how to use his body uh great on the PK like I mentioned they really missed him when he got hurt really really missed him he was a differencemaker and again in January I think that fourth line with him Carrick and Reppy was their best line honestly I think it was their best line throughout the whole team well you hit it on the head Darius and Raul brought that up but you know when I look at physicality speed and snarl kind of been what the Rangers have been searching for this entire off season could have used a little more of that this past season obviously so I mean he checks all the boxes when it comes to that another guy that’s not going to go out there and put up you know Jason Robertson numbers obviously who we’re going to get into later on but physicality speed and snorl checks every single box i’d love to bring him back without question yeah absolutely he was fantastic and I think I have it here that from Jim Cernney i brought it up earlier that you know they basically have an identity line assuming that they’re going to resign Echim i don’t think that there’s going to be any two you know complications with that or anything i don’t like you mentioned the Florida Panthers kind of model there i don’t imagine him making more than a million dollars i think that’d be crazy especially with Matt Rempy not making a million dollars so I would imagine it’s going to come in at the same cap head so they have a bit of an identity line there and they were great again through the month of January literally winning them games so um you know they have them locked up carrick will be here next season they have uh you know Matt Rempy locked up now they just have to get the one last piece there and again you’re looking at some other bigger pieces I think at this point like a Jason Robertson so I’ll let you go now Brett you know what Jason Robertson what you think about that cuz I feel like it’s still very much on the table they were talking about it dallas has to free up some uh some space there we know that they’re going to be making a move if they can’t move a guy like Mason Marchman or you know they have a couple other pieces in the bottom of their lineup they can move off of but they need to free up some significant cap space this off season and if they can’t move one of those guys if nobody’s really interested for the prices that they’re going to be you know having out there it could be Jason Robertson they’ve named him he’s been out there you know and I think that just like JT Miller when Chris Jury gets wind of something and he fixates on something he’s like I want this and I think this would help the team he goes out and he gets it done so I think that they have the assets to do it you know who else needs a defenseman like a Keandre Miller the Dallas Stars so I think it could be absolutely you know what I mean so it could be a really really you know not a perfect match of course there would be other elements to the trade but I feel like there is some smoke there with the Jason Robertson stuff for the New York Rangers oh absolutely there is i mean Dallas I know what fans are thinking why in the world with the Dallas Stars coming off three straight Western Conference final appearances why would they want to move one of their best players in Jason Robertson when he’s making less than $8 million and it’s a fair question but you just brought it up Daryus their cap situation is hell i mean this team has less than $5 million to play with they can’t even really afford to pay Jason Robertson $7.75 million and this is a player quite frankly who’s worth way more than that he’s worth more than $7.75 million i don’t mean to pick on Ma I know I keep kind of alluding to this but if he’s worth $8.5 million then what is Jason Robertson worth at 25 years old i mean seriously so bringing him in would be an absolute home run for the Rangers and the Rangers have a habit of doing this right they they want that next star on Broadway we saw it happen with Rick Nash we saw it happen with our Tammy Paneran these players were both 28 years of age if you bring in a Jason Robertson to lead this era of hockey moving forward I mean he’s got three years on those guys this is a 25year-old stud i think that’s what kind of gets lost in the conversation here feels like he’s been in the league a while like I said he’s been on a lot of runs with the Dallas Stars but he’s very very young and I know he may not be a tier one player yet but he is a top 10 forward in my opinion and not only that if you pair him with the right uh with the right player at center I’m going to tease it i’m not going to get into who I’m thinking of it may not be who you’re thinking of but if you pair him with the right player at center this is a guy that can absolutely get into that tier one conversation like I said he’s a high-end tier 2 player right now but the Rangers have to be in on this player no matter what like I said you just moved Chris Krider you just freed up $6.5 million you’d only be allocating basically one more million dollars to bring in Jason Robertson that’s an absolute steal and not to mention if they do move Mika Zabanagad then they still have so much cap space to play with not only this season but moving forward like we’ve alluded to that free agent class next season but Robertson would be an absolute home run he’s not a perfect player Darius i’m not claiming that he’s a perfect player but like I said pure goal scorer the Rangers need skill the Rangers need youth that’s what Jason Robertson is yeah and one thing that we’ve talked about even last week in our live stream and in videos as well is if you look at the the timeline matches up perfectly for the New York Rangers if they wanted to make that trade you’re getting a potential 50 goal scorer who I think you know he’s only 25 like you mentioned i think that he can still score 50 goals in this league i would imagine maybe you were talking about JT Miller being his center because he’s going to go in grab him the puck essentially feed him the puck you’ll score a bunch of goals we’ll elaborate on that in a second but um you know the timeline matches up perfectly because if you acquire Jason Robertson this year you only have to pay him 7.5 or 7.75 I think for this season he’s a free agent at the end of this season or an RFA right you will have to pay him but so is our Tammy Paneran you get 11 million to over $11 million worth of cap space freed up next season that you can give to Jason Robertson and you can either pay Paneran less if he wants to stick around or you could say all right we got our goal scorer and Jason Robertson and you know Paneran’s getting a little bit older you know we want to get younger this is the new vision for the team you kind of fill in that gap with him so you could have them both for this season and then heading into next year you know the timeline works out perfectly you can just give Jason Robertson not all of that money of course I’m not saying that that would be ridiculous but uh you know a lot of that money so it’s going to be interesting to see i think that it’s an interesting idea uh and to piggyback off that Allison was asking if you think Arti Paneran will be traded or return next season because of course he is a Well obviously he’s going to be here next season i guess it’s this season now stanley Cup was awarded yesterday i guess at this point it’s this season coming up but yeah it’s a little weird now to talk about exactly right so uh I guess at this point it’s this season sure we’ll call it the season coming but um is a free agent at the end of the year right so we do have to start thinking about those things do you think there’s a world where they trade him cuz I do honestly uh again we can kind of elaborate and get into it but um I I don’t know what the answer is i don’t they’re not going to trade him before the season starts or anything like that but do you think he’s going to return resign anything like that uh great question from Allison and and our Tommy Paneran we’ve touched on him a little bit here as of late but you know his name hasn’t been involved in the rumors you know we just associate Art Tummy Paneran with these rumors because like we said he is part of that core he is part of that Rangers DNA that has had success but hasn’t been able to finish the job and I absolutely think that we may not see it right now but our Tammy Paneran is 100% on the table when it comes to trade and I think that a lot of it has to do with if the Rangers are successful this season or not successful quite frankly if the trade deadline comes and the Rangers are not even if they’re in maybe on the hinge of making a wild card spot if Drury doesn’t believe this team could really do any damage make any noise you’re 100% going to see Arti Paneran talked about and it’s not only going to be Chris Drury making calls it’s going to be other teams calling the Rangers because let’s not make any mistake here arti Paneran will be sought after this is a guy that is still very I’m not going to say elite but he is still very much at the top of his game i mean this guy scored 92 points this past season and what team especially a contender wouldn’t want that you know to maybe complete their championship puzzle so he is 100% going to be on the table i love the bread man you know nothing against him but it’s getting to that point where you know he is getting older and like I said I love him but it just it just may make the most sense to see what you could get for him at the deadline obviously that’s if the team is not competing the way you expected them to so I could see that world and even if the Rangers are doing well they don’t trade them they do make the playoffs get bounced early um I don’t see them bringing them back quite frankly uh bringing them back so um I do think that this might be the last year we watch the bread man uh with the Rangers but definitely possible Allison that he gets moved at the deadline yeah I think it’s definitely possible you took the words right out of my mouth honestly I was going to elaborate on but I feel the exact same way we align on that i think completely because if they’re not going to make the playoffs you try to move him you try to get some assets for him because if he does end up walking in free agency you’re not going to get anything for him and you didn’t get a playoff birth out of it so if you’re not going to make the playoffs look for a trade for him if you are going to make the playoffs I would say hold on to him and then I think in terms of resigning versus him walking it really comes down to are you going to take a discount and what the team looks like if you do go out and get a Jason Robertson there’s no world you can resign Paneran i think that might be okay honestly because you’re going to replace some of that point production but Paneran’s awesome like in a season that they were just absolutely horrible horrific to watch every night uh Paneran was great and he was over a point a game player still and even last season you know obviously he got that 120 point season he’s like an unbelievable player but at some point he’s going to start regressing and you have to start thinking about the retooling as well or retool on the fly because this is not going to be a full rebuild there’s no way i don’t think Chris is going to let that happen but um you do have to focus on the retooling a little bit so it’s going to be very interesting to see uh what happens with Paneran again I I think it just depends on how the season goes it’s really hard to call it right now and I think you got to go based off feel in this situation and again if he wants to come back discounted he wants to stay in New York and when I say discounted I don’t mean like 2 million i mean like maybe half his current salary or something like that then yeah I think you do bring him back and and try to make it work but it’s going to be interesting because he’s going to start regressing at some point we see it you know 35 36 37 years old you start to regress and he’s getting up there so it’s going to be uh it’s going to be pretty crazy but I think it’s about that time that we talk about will Brett because obviously we haven’t touched on it yet this is something that has to happen immediately in my eyes you got to get this done before July 1st you don’t want to let him get the offer sheet territory because unlike Miller you’re actually keeping this player and he’s a big part of the future and he better be because I made that investment back there that’s hanging on the wall so he better be part of the plan those jerseys ain’t cheap Darius now Exactly and I had somebody go “You bought a Will jersey?” I was like man you got to watch this guy play he’s unbelievable so uh you know he can put up points like he did last year had a career year i feel like he’s going to get that much better and he’s a physical force i keep saying it ever since JT Miller came in this guy was like a 18-wheeler with no stop sign like just flying through people i can’t remember who he blew up on uh Vegas i don’t think it was Heg it might have been Petangelo I think in that one game absolutely ran him over yeah just absolutely ran him over so I love Will they got to get this done i do think that he’s going to sign for somewhere in the area of 3.5 to four we’ll see exactly what it is but there was a report and I believe I have I have it here i’ll bring it up that uh basically he doesn’t want to leave New York he doesn’t want to sign anywhere else he would prefer to stay in New York but there was another report that uh you know other teams could be willing to offer him upwards of $6 million on an offer sheet and if you’re Will and somebody’s offering you 6 million I don’t care how much you like New York that is enticing i’m not saying he’s going to leave but that’s really enticing so you know how do you feel about this whole Will Coulie situation they got to get this done in my eyes like as soon as possible so at least first of all it’s done you keep them away from the offer sheets and second of all you have an idea of what the the salary cap outlook’s going to be the team what it’s going to look like they need to get this done I think like this week if if not at the latest like Monday next week like get this done yeah first of all an 18wheeler gez an 18wheeler darius like I’m glad I’m glad that he ran right through Petrangelo because good good riddens just as long as it’s not Jack Eel because you know how I feel about Jack I don’t want to see yeah I don’t want to see him get run over by Will just an 18-wheeler gez that was that was good um absolutely I mean the most wheels that uh a car could handle that’s exactly what Will is I mean this guy is a freaking freight train coming at you this guy’s got physical ality he’s got the speed he’s got the snarl and the reason I keep referring to that is because we saw Vincent Magliano report that you know that’s what the excuse me my microphone there that’s what the Rangers are looking for and we didn’t see any of it this past season so Rissan and Will is essential absolutely essential peter Lavlet while he was here in his brief time you know the Rangers seem to go through coaches every two seasons which isn’t great but Peter Lavlet seemed to love this guy you know he always was praising Will and his work ethic and it has really shown i mean his first season he only played like a few games so less than five maybe so I don’t count that but he’s only had really two full seasons in the NHL what I love is that he’s proven to be durable which is great and I think it goes kind of under the radar especially in this league which is so brutal so tough especially playoff hockey just gets to another level which I hope the Rangers will experience uh this season but he has been durable he is big he is physical he is fast he reminds me of a younger kind of Chris Krider almost i mean he’ll park himself in front of the net if he has to put those pucks behind the goalie uh he’s big like Krider he’s fast like Crider he could give you some of that goalcoring production at left wing like Krider can obviously no disrespect to Krider i mean Crider has scored 50 goals but you know we haven’t seen the best of Will yet this is a player that’s only scratching the surface and you make a great point the Rangers have to get this done because I keep talking about if the Rangers did this it’d be bad business if the Rangers did that it’d be bad business so I don’t want to be a hypocrite here obviously if the Rangers resign Will Kulie and it was you know over $6 million I’d be happy that he’s back but I wouldn’t be able to convincingly say it was a good deal a good deal for Kulie but not a good deal for the Rangers i mean like I said in the last video going from six figures to over six million for a guy that’s only going to play his third season in the NHL is would be a massive win for him but he does want to remain in New York and the Rangers should reward him they should reward him with a bridge deal and say “Look we love what we saw from you in your first two seasons especially this past season this is a guy that went from 21 points to 45 more than double look we really like what you did you know your first two years on our team we want you to be a part of our DNA a part of our culture moving forward.” The Rangers have to reward him two to three years 3.5 to 4 million if it takes four million to get it done that’s what you got to do i mean it’s hard to find players that want to play for your team like really you know sometimes players just go for the money or whatever it may be so if a player a good player is telling you they want to play for your team they don’t want to enter entertain other options unless they get completely blown out of the out of the water which is a possibility if the Rangers let this linger so they cannot do that let’s just get it done reward Kulie for his play two to three years 3.5 to 4 million i’m on the record saying if it like you are if it has to be 4 million you get it done this is a great player going to be a reliable second line player moving forward and who knows maybe he’ll reach the first line yeah and I think at times he was touching it last season obviously there was injuries and and stuff like that you know Chris Crider didn’t have the the healthiest season we know everything that went into that but you know he was being used in different roles and again I people forget how young he is he’s only going to get better and he’s been progressing every single season so just get it done and like you said it’s a bridge deal if he wants to cash in in a few years that’s fine too you’re going to have the staller cap space to do that so just get it done reward him for what he’s done so far and uh get going here because I think he’s he’s going to be taking some steps so um that’s that they got to get that done they have a lot they need to get done and we’re going to keep you covered here on the channel but before we wrap up Brett there’s a lot of uh a lot of interesting free agents heading into next year and I saw a question here from a few people and they were wondering you know Conor McDavid we know Jack Eel you’ve done videos on Jack Eel as well they’re all free agents next year i want to go on the record and just couple you know quick final thoughts before we wrap up here i will go on the record and basically what’s up Nick’s Digest shout out Chris over there james Dolan also running your days I assume over there but uh lots of fun but uh I do want to say that and I’ll go on the record losing in back-to-back Stanley Cup finals does something to you psychologically i I really think it does and we’ve seen that the Edmonton Oilers have been reluctant to give Conor McDavid a goalender that can carry that team and build a team around him so if Conor McDavid does not sign a contract extension before the season starts I believe he will either next season be a New York Ranger or a Toronto Maple Leaf i don’t think there’s any there’s no other teams he’s either going to be a Maple Leaf or a New York Ranger and that is again mark my words here gonna make some videos on it of course we’re going to talk about it more but that is if he does not sign a contract extension before the season starts because I think he wants this summer to see that the organization is serious about keeping him giving him a goalie and see if they can go back to another cup final because I feel like they’ve wasted two years with not having competent defense or goalending honestly so and he’s really carried that team so those are my thoughts on it i think it’s going to be crazy i also have to say JTB in the chat you know Chris Jury say what you want about him he’s brought in JT Miller that’s a that’s a you know a tough player who scores goals so I can appreciate that but we’ll see what the rest of his moves this season you know how he follows through with that i’m excited to see what happens this summer but Brett any final thoughts on some of the free agents next year jack Eeko would also be nice but I feel like Conor McDavid of course in everybody’s eyes like what’s going to happen there because I feel like everyone was expecting him to win this year yeah and Darius that is the first time I ever heard you say on the air or off the air that you think Conor McDavid could be a New York Ranger and wow what an absolute star you’d be bringing to Broadway if the Rangers bring in Conor McDavid to have his Mark Messier moment imagine that just imagine that i mean that would be absolutely tremendous and what’s crazy is it’s not far-fetched guys because the Rangers could make that happen even if they bring in a Jason Robertson they still could bring in a Conor McDavid next off seasonason which is awesome it’s just it would be so amazing to see and like I said I know the Rangers would still have some roster spots to fill after that but keep bringing up the Florida Panthers guys that third and fourth line not making much money lot of six figure deals on that third and fourth line so that’s exactly the player I was alluding to earlier when I said if you put Jason Robertson on the left wing with an elite style center like a Conor McDavid to a lesser degree a Jack Eel who it could still work with beautifully you will see Jason Robertson go from high-end tier 2 to tier one without a doubt i’ll go on the record saying that that Jason Robertson you will consider in a tier one conversation if the Rangers have Conor McDavid or even Jack Eel next off seasonason and I know that sounds crazy maybe the McDavid part but make no mistake about it if it’s not McDavid it will be Jack Eel i firmly believe this i firmly believe that Jack Eel that it’s just meant to be with the Rangers it was supposed to happen years ago he wanted it to happen in 2021 the Sabres didn’t do it they didn’t want to do business with the Rangers for whatever reason and there as I said maybe because they’re Buffalo they you know they’re in New York too and nobody really considers you know them or thinks about them in New York quite frankly like they do the Bills but the Sabres maybe are a little salty who knows but he was supposed to be a Ranger and if but if it’s Conor McDavid oh boy if it’s Conor McDavid and you mentioned the goalending i mean little bit of an upgrade if if he if he starts playing with Igor Shurken right that’s a little bit of an upgrade right there that’s what I’m saying and I mean when you look at this year’s Stanley Cup final going into a deciding game six the Edmonton Oilers didn’t know who their goalender was that is insane and I think it really makes me appreciate and I’ve always been a fan of Eigor and I will defend his contract extension and I have on the channel really makes me appreciate what having a really good goalender is like right so you have that goalender in place and again mark my words if the Edmonton Oilers this summer do not provide Conor McDavid with a bonafide number one starting goalender there’s going to be some questions he’s not going to sign a contract yet i see some people in the chat saying “Is he going to leave Dry Settle behind?” I don’t think he cares he wants to win it doesn’t matter what somebody else is doing this is a guy who wants a Stanley Cup in his career he wants to be one of the greats and I think that he would leave Dry Settle behind if it meant you know trying to win a Stanley Cup so I could see it happening a lot of people are asking about the salary and how would that work for not only McDavid but keep in mind EL as well because he’s going to make a lot of money the salary cap after this year goes up $10 million every summer so not only that but Paneran’s coming off the books you could easily afford that and build a team around him you have the goalender as well so it’s going to be uh it’s going to be very interesting and in terms of Eel I it’s weird because both players I feel like could leave for different reasons like Ekeel went to Vegas found success won a Stanley Cup i could see him leaving for a little bit more money playing in the spotlight in New York and Conor McDavid I could see him leaving to play with a bonafide number one starting goalender i feel like the Rangers would have to promise to build a team around him of course although they’re building some some pretty good stuff I think at least in terms of you know bottom of the the lineup and stuff like that but could promise him that you have the goalender you’re playing in New York you’re going to make a lot of money probably more money than you ever would in Edmonton and endorsements and stuff like that it could be interesting so if he doesn’t sign by the start of the season I start asking questions that’s all I’m saying there is It’d be one of the saddest things in sports quite frankly if Conor McDavid never touched Lord Stanley i mean it would be one of the saddest things in sports and oh my gosh it would be mustsee TV if he was in New York at Madison Square Garden it would be absolute must-see TV and make no mistakes about it you know if the Rangers even if it’s not Jason Robertson but you know if it’s a JJ Purka if it’s a Marco Rossy I I tend to think it’s going to be Jason Robertson is Jason Robertson Leon Dryidle no but Jason Robertson like I said I think he would reach an entirely different level already a multipletime 40 goal scorer you said it earlier in the live stream Daryus you think he could be a 50goal scorer and absolutely he would do that with Conor McDavid at center going north to south up and down the ice like a maniac creating even more opportunities drawing the attention from the defense taking that attention away from a Jason Robertson oh my gosh that would be absolutely incredible and I get it they have Troche Miller but those are versatile guys you could play them on the wings you could do all kinds of stuff with those two guys they are versatile not just you know set in stone centers it’s their primary position but you can move those guys around and look they would move it around to make Jason Robertson and Conor McDavid work because that would be outstanding with Igor Sturken darius I can’t believe we’re about to end the stream because now I am all fired up i’m all juiced up just thinking about this because you said it the cap space it would work it would absolutely work and we’ll get to that in future videos of how the Rangers can make that work but man and look maybe they got to get rid of Cory Perry you know because you know five straight years now i mean come on that is just insane that is wild that is one one of the most wild statistics I’ve seen five straight Stanley Cup losses oh I mean I can’t say I feel sorry for the guy i mean he’s not not the greatest guy in the world so uh you know but maybe he’ll be a Ranger he’ll be available too maybe he’ll be a Ranger i kind of hope not because then we’ll lose the Stanley Cup but then again if we get him maybe we’ll make the Stanley Cup so it’s one of those weird things but I’m all fired up as you can see right now just thinking about Mick David at Madison Square Garden there’s so many different possibilities coming up not only this off seasonason but heading into next year and what you do this year will set you up for next year it’s going to be very interesting to see how Chris Jury tries to you know formulate this team it’s going to be it’s going to be crazy but you know Cory Perry don’t think I would like him on the New York Rangers well you know it might guarantee you a spot in the final i don’t think you’re going to win and Conor McDavid could follow in the footsteps of a former uh you know Oilers captain as well not only Wayne Gretzky jumping over to the New York Rangers but Mark Messier jumping over to the New York Rangers from the Oilers and winning a Stanley Cup so it’s going to be uh it’s going to be interesting to see but I think there’s so many different players like Capriov as a free agent next year as well uh obviously Robertson you can target in a trade you would have the money i’m not worried about the salary cap like you said whatsoever in this case because you’re going to have so much cap space next season with Paneran off the books and the salary cap going up $10 million so uh you’re gonna have a ton of cap space i’m not worried about that whatsoever but there’s a lot of different players that you can check in on and I think it’s going to be uh it’s going to be wild the next two seasons so it’s going to be fun but we’ll wrap it up there we’re going to have a ton of more content on the 1. Replace K. Miller with Mathew Robertson they are both Left handed and no loss to the Rangers yet they gain and then Drury can see what they can get for Miller.

  2. this team is in jail. their best prospects are not nhl ready (othman is, at best, a future bottom six player; perrault couls be a top six player if he is surrounded by players that can protect him; berard spends half of every shift on his rear end because he is way too small for the nhl). robertson is a 3rd pair d, same zac jones). what they would do if they really want to win is fire drury and backup the brinks truck to pry zito from florida or mcphee from vegas…they understand how to evaluate players and assemble a roster. otherwise, we'll be waiting another 30 years for a cup. i'm 65, have been a fan since 70/71 and have seen exactly one cup (actually they have won exactly one cup since pearl harbor!

  3. i'd like to see the rangers get a top 2C (i believe trocheck is better suited for 3C) + a top D with Fox & we good…
    panrin, milller, mika
    laf (2C) cuylle
othman, troch, perreault or parssinen, troch, brodz (if the others start in Hartford)
    edstrom, carrick, rempe
    (LD), Fox
    Jones, Schneider
    Robertson, Borgen

  4. Panarin Miller Zibanejad

    Cuylle Trocheck Lafreniere

    Othmann Roobroeck Perreault

    Edstrom Carrick Rempe

    Gavrikov Fox

    Jones Schneider

    Vaakanainen Borgen

    Shesterkin Quick

    Brodzinski
    Parssinen
    Robertson

  5. I totally agree, move Schneider to the left side. Even if it’s the second pairing with Borgen on R/D . We’ll need to p/u a first pair L/D to play with Fox . My feeling is that Drury will pursue Gavrikov. Naturally this means a new home for Miller. We’ ll have options for the 3rd pairing , both left and right side. I’d love to give Matthew Robertson a chance at 3rd pair L/D . Right side ? , for now . 7th D man , Vaakanainen , Jones ( if resigns) . Also Soucy , traded. Trying to be realistic with what we have in cap space. Naturally if someone big contracts get moved, that could change things ! LGR !!!!

  6. Milka not going anywhere. Oh and Bret , your comments on Panarin are laughable. Panarin is by far the best player on the team and one of the best in NHL. Drury is a cancer to the Rangers organization

  7. Put JT CUylle and Laf together Laf will thrive playing with those two and put them together on the first PP unit with Cuylle in front of the net. Put Trocheck with Othmann and Berard on the third line. Have Perrault play a year in hartford and next year maybe Eichel Robertson and Perrault??? Defense Fox with Robertson , Schneider with Jones. Bring two cheaper d men into the roster after trading kandre Gavrikov too old and expensive. Rangers need to become a much better forechecking team to take the pressure off the d men

  8. Get rid of Mika. No trade clause is what it is, but if a player shows disinterest or worse they open themselves up to fanbase blowback. This is Mika to a T. Very talented but always a finesse player on ice. Not for us anymore. Push him out however you can. He isn’t wanted here anymore.
