7.5/10. Playoff rises, and did have a few bad moments in the end, but he was by far our 2nd player in the series
9.5/10 for his output to contract ratio and rose to the occasion in the playoffs…played at a $15m/yr pace (minimum)
A+
He gave up a lot of money to play with Dame again, and performed admirably. Not his fault he joined a trainwreck
A++
His biggest issue was he was brought in to be a flamethrower, and then we got Dame and asked him to be Jrue.
He had great splits all year. He had to sit and watch Jackson Jr and TP start over him at the 2 all year, and when they called his number he was ready in the Playoffs.
And he did it for like $2 million dollars.
I really hope he stays this year, because it can lead to him staying for a bigger, longer contract once we get into Bird rights with him
A strong B+
A – showed up when it matter. Hit a ton of cold shots during the season. Accepted his role and was a good teammate. Got paid like 10-20% of his actual value while doing it.
10/10 when factoring in the return on what we paid him.
GTJ made 2,613,120 for the bucks this year.
In return the Bucks received a SG who averaged 25.6 MPG and averaged 11.1/2.3/1.2 on 43.1/41.6/84.8 during the regular season.
In the playoffs he started 3/5 games and averaged 34.2 MPG. He averaged 18.8/2.2/1.2 on 51.6/50.0/80.0.
Bucks paid vet min and got a starting SG in the playoffs that put up 19 PPG against the Eastern conference champions who were an Achilles away from winning it all.
B+/A-
Great till that last sequence
First of all, he made a huge turnaround to begin the season. There were several reasons we lost that early stretch of games but he was one of them, ice cold shooting and turnovers in some of the close losses. That can happen to any player for a stretch and especially on a new team. He showed up like a pro and got in the gym and got himself back on track.
Seeing him late season and in the playoffs, yes he was working for a new contract but you can see that he’s a driven player and not afraid of big games. We need guys like that who can shoot it. I won’t put a grade on it but he exceeded the role we had for him and showed he can be a starter and an important rotation piece.
8.5/10, had a rough start but was great from there on out. Had a great season shooting wise but also was a very solid defender this year as well. He fits so well with Giannis
Pass. Clearly a guy who wants to play with the team and struggled initially with his role and found it pretty quickly.
B
Average defender at best, but he’s fearless and a fantastic catch and shooter
B he was pretty good
B
I’d give a B
🤝
On that contract, he was A-tier.
9/10
Gary Trent Jr. rules
9/10
Can’t believe we had Prince starting over this man 💀 💀
One of my absolute favorite player on the team. He started off shaky in the beginning due to injuries, but he was humble, and stayed on the court hours after every game to work on his shots. He never complained and was always giving his all. Hope he comes back but if he doesn’t, I will always root for his success wherever he ends up.
I’d say a B+ to A-. It was a one-year “prove it” deal and imo significantly exceeded expectations, particularly in the postseason. He started the season with some struggles, but he became a key contributor, especially in the playoffs.
8.5/10 would be 10/10 if we got to see more why is he not a starter but prince is
