Zegras has first line winger second line Center upside. Last year the Ducks metrics really went up whenever he was healthy and playing, and really fell when he wasn’t. He has been injury prone. His defensive play has skyrocketed. He obviously has scoring and play making upside.
What did the duck see at the 45th pick?
Is this a salary dump because they’re expecting to make huge rfa moves that they’re massive cap spaces and enough for?

I like this for Philly. Betting on the talent Zegras clearly has and the fact Cronin is terrible seems like a win, especially for pennies. Wish Calgary did.
Flyers trading very little in this deal, definitely worth a shot with Zegras’s upside. Poehling is a grinder and I definitely appreciated his hard forecheck, hopefully we won’t miss his work ethic.
It’s funny because Zegras is such a soft player, him going to Philly is the exact opposite of what Philly’s game was known to be. Maybe they need the soft touch haha if Torts was still there I’d imagine him getting benched a lot

I’m not trying to overvalue Zegras as he’s been hurt a lot and not really playing up to expectations as a whole but this return seems pretty underwhelming to me. I still think Zegras has the potential to be an 80+ point player in the right situation and I can’t help but think Flyers got a big W with this trade. Plus, he’s gonna be happy to be with his best friend Drysdale again.
I think this is a fair deal. Zegras has some injury issues but still has plenty of upside we can really use him as a second line center option his face off percentage i believe still hovering somewhere at the 45% mark, but worst case scenario we can plug him in on the left wing since we are so deep with right wingers right now. welcome to philly ziggy now go crack a cold one with ur bestie Jamie Drysdale.
