“Outstanding!” – Why Rich Eisen Loves the Houston Rockets Trading for Kevin Durant
kevin Durant is a member of the Houston Rockets when this thing becomes official apparently on July 6th so hey you know how this stuff always like if I’m not here right yeah yeah yeah if you know if I’m not mistaken the Rams and Stafford came to terms on something that wasn’t official for for weeks right but uh Kevin Durant age 37 still one of the best shooters in the NBA uh first ballot hall of famer is now going to join the Houston Rockets and the Suns get Jaylen Green and Dylan Brooks the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft and five second round draft picks and I love this deal for the Houston Rockets i think this is outstanding um because you know you look at how young this team is they apparently didn’t have room for the 10th overall pick to join this roster and five second round draft picks you know listen um those guys can turn into a player um they can turn into a future MVP getting drafted uh during a fast food commercial like uh Jokic was that’s still one of my favorite videos he was announced by uh by Bottomline Ticker right during a Taco Bell spot about to say the fact that Taco Bell has still never done anything with him is kind of strange like that was the commercial i I I guess if I was I I don’t know is there a uh a connection between the two nations and uh and food i guess you could I would make a connection because your logo was on the screen when he was drafted you know so you know is Dylan Brooks going to be uh a massive miss for the for the Rockets jaylen Green could you know be I I don’t know man the way that this team is constructed you add Durant to it and listen everything needs to be seen through the prism of what we saw on Sunday night and what we saw throughout the entire season and a Thunder team that won 84 games combined regular and post and won a championship albeit in seven games is this enough i don’t know we don’t know but they’re a better team I think right now than they were yesterday and I I know Durant is getting longer in the tooth but he still can provide some outstanding shooting to a team that is in desperate need of it rich yes sir he’s Kevin Durant i know that you know you know I know that but but when you get when you get to be 37 years old some people start seeing that number and forget all the other numbers and forget who this guy is and um you know I guess this will just be yet another fan base that shows up in Springfield Massachusetts for him in a few years it’s funny Rich that you mentioned that somebody on Twitter put that Kevin Durant has now achieved the all the colors in the prism the Roy G biv yeah like he has every the red the blue the yellow the green the uh violet yeah i guess the green would be the Sonics the blue would be the Thunder the the yellow would be the Warriors the Nets what What colors did the Nets provide uh they did like a throwback where I think that was their indigo indigo very good all right very good yeah pretty funny kevin Durant look still averaged 26 and a half points a game last year yeah six in the league in scoring uh very efficient 53% shooting by a field goal percentage they’re not drafting a Kevin Durant and in the 10th overall pick i mean someone could grow in a Kevin Durant but yeah but chances are but if you want to win now 43% from three which is which makes it even more confusing to me someone as great all time and as talented as Kevin Durant has moved around so much it’s just it was it’s just really hard to kind of wrap my head you label Kevin Durant as a journeyman of his own choosing you know it’s not like get him out of here he’s a he’s a locker room cancer we can’t have him around anymore it’s his own choosing right but a player Well first of all going to Oklahoma City was not of his own choosing that’s number one number two leaving Oklahoma City was of his own choosing let’s not forget the uh the what the the Hampton’s Durant Uhhuh free agency tour that included a visit from Big Poppy and Brady on behalf of the Celtics correct let’s not forget that right and then Nick thought they were getting him it was It was wild right never accused him of ring chasing with the Warriors guess what he won two finals MVPs you were the best player on two finals teams like stock and the fact that by the way the fact that he’s traded on the day the Oklahoma City Thunder win it all and in a game seven that featured an NBA Finals Achilles explosion kind because of a calf strain that everyone was wondering is it well enough for this player to play on but it’s the finals they have to do it they’re not going to not do it the fact that he’s traded on that day is wild um you know he went to the Nets of his own choosing and um he went to the Suns of his own choosing too and everybody says it was his own choosing to not go back to the Warriors at the trade deadline or the Timberwolves right now he chose the Rockets mhm and he’s clearly happy about it cuz he found out on the stage at Fanatics Fest in New York City you’re headed to Houston how does that sound [Music] we going to see man we going to see yeah he found out and then there was a shot of Hammond dapping up Rich uh climbing they were They were psyched yeah i saw Tops Tops turned that moment into a car did you see that the Tops now just a little so was was that smile on his face on the card because of the trade or because Taylor Brooks was interviewing the I think he clearly um wanted to go there yeah it was and and that was it can I ask you guys because I guess the Heat the Heat wouldn’t give up any other players the Heat didn’t want to give up anybody it seemed like to get Kevin Durant but what do you guys think you The West is tough we know that the West is usually a little bit tougher right you look at the East the Celix are going to be without Tatum the Bucks won’t have Dame pacers sadly are going to be without Hallebertton do you guys think that going to the East would have been a better move considering all these talented players are going to be out next year probably but I don’t know if trying to figure out what makes Kevin Durant happy and tick has been you know kind of a tough go these days houston was the two seed lest we forget in this year’s Kevin Durant and again Jaylen Green in the playoffs did not have right what everyone was hoping to see from him in terms of a playoff run dylan Brooks we know who he is he brings what he brings he brings what he brings the 10th overall pick is a mystery and so are the fives twos i love this deal for the Rockets i love it yeah you have to i think you have to and the fans are going to go nuts isn’t it weird though that Memphis got four ones for Desmond Bane and Kevin Durant gets Are we going Are we going all in on the Mavericks one more time i mean we’ve got 48 more hours to go all in on the Mavericks until they get Cooper flag and then we’ll all as a national sports media start to forget about it yeah because then you until the next Maverick’s Houston gave up too much. Durant will be 37 next season.
The suns need a PG… which they didnt get. So they will rollout an even worst roster than this season.
Clueless Eisen knows basketball as well as your dead great grandfather.
Did rich burp towards the end
Great move by Houston. Got off Green’s contract and he really wasn’t an Ime guy. Sold Brooks at the high after he had a decent season. They don’t need that 10th, they don’t need another lottery pick sitting on the bench. They brought in exactly what they need, experience and 4th quarter scoring. Ime can do a lot with this.
I definitely agree with TJ here. How do you NOT make that a commercial!?!?!
Didn’t circumstance, because Tiger was already with Nike… but remember that CRAZY putt Tiger hit where it took that super crazy loop on the hill and the Nike swoosh just sat there on the edge of the cup before dropping? That was a commercial within the week! lol.
Taco Bell has had years! Lol
Started carrier in Austin,tx.and ending in Houston,tx.🤘🏾 we’re looking for a SG! Anyone?
Well Bradley Beal might not be to happy with this trade. He and Jalen Green had a pushing and shoving match earlier this season.
In the playoffs, Jalen Green had 4 games where he scored single digits. The Rockets lost all 4 games and were eliminated in the first round.
He finished his Rockets time with 314 starts. The choice wasn't that hard, given the other YOUNGER players on the team.
As great as Kevin Durant, he didn’t make the playin this year. Let that sink in. Stop that nonsense he is not worth what you give up. Kevin Durant is selfish player. He is not a team player. If he feels any unhappy to a team, he will jump ship. Not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4 or not 5.
In my feeble mind, Keven is the last of the Supersonics. Our last draft pick. While I pretty much gave up on the NBA after that, I still perk up when I see mention of KD.
Journeyman superstar KD
OKC wins its first championship and a Huston will win a championship in 26!
KD is back!
