[Windhorst] KD kept rejecting trades until the price got so low that the Rockets couldn’t say no. Essentially both pushed his way to Houston and made sure they got him for pennies.

  1. I’m skeptical, this seems like Sun’s PR…. same goes for all the sky high rumored offers.

I think more likely KD’s just not that valuable a trade item considering his age, contract …

  2. Learned his lesson from Phoenix where he let them give up all their ammo for him, so they struggled to build something decent around him and Book.

  3. Somehow he leaves every franchise hating him

Wonder why. Guess it’s just a coincidence

  4. A lot of suns fans definitely seemed in denial about how much leverage 37 year old KD with 1 year left on his deal had. I see a lot of the same from Lakers fans when they make fake LeBron trades.

  5. KD so good at using leverage and did it multiple times i can see him becoming a GM

  6. KD is actually a genius manipulator or the sun are morons(probably the latter)

  7. Pretty smart. Imagine how much better the Suns would have been better if they had been able to keep Cam Johnson

  8. Rockets did soooo well here. They gave up a negative contract, a pick that probably wouldn’t have gotten much game time, and a very good perimeter defender that they themselves can replace internally anyway. KD now gives them an offensive punch that is unguaradble.

Very interested to see how they fare next season.

  9. Puts even more pressure on KD to win in Houston after this maneuver. If he wants the respect he thinks he’s earned, time to win without Steph. He made sure the team getting him gave up nothing, put up or shut up.

  10. If you give a flying fuck about actually winning, this is exactly what you do. The opposite of Melo forcing his way to New York and guttingvthe team in the process.

  11. Am I crazy or is the Houston offer actually about what you can expect for 37 year old KD?

Certainly seems better than Wiggins+20 or Vassel+14.

  12. More GMs should sit down and observe the art of “Fuck you” from when Portland GM didn’t cave for Dame

  13. Yea lol the Rockets and Durant kind of sandwiched the Sun’s. Heat and Spurs were the only ones that could have bailed them out of getting double teamed.

  14. People in here acting like superstars don’t have an implied no trade clause.

As long as the player says he won’t sign an extension with a new team, the current team won’t trade them 99 times out of 100.

  15. GOAT learned from the suns mistake. That trade was garbage you don’t give all that up for someone almost in their mid thirties after an Achilles tear could’ve at the very least kept mikal and a few picks

  16. *almost breathless near whisper* and then it’s the most basic obvious shit everyone already knows, childlike analysis. “They still have the good players they still have! They can keep them and develop them OR (gasp) *trade them*

ESPN is the Fox News of sports

  17. HOU got an absolute steal. The only thing of value they gave up was the 10th pick.

This was a no-brainer trade to get your down the stretch go-to guy

  18. Seems like a crazy haul anyways for a dude who’s gonna be 37 next year

  19. KD must absolutely despise the Suns with a passion because why he didn’t do that FOR them when coming from the Nets and also the clip yesterday where he basically said fuck the fans lol.

Suns got screwed on both KD trades
