Arizona Diamondbacks vs Chicago White Sox (6-23-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

[Music] we’ve got 917 918 we’ve got eduardo rodriguez and the diamondbacks at minus1 130 uh and then we have shane smith and the white socks at + 118 total of nine was juice to the under at minus 115 kenny when i first looked at this i’m like man this is a short price on this diamondbacks offense but holy crap eduardo rodriguez is terrible and i actually like shane smith i think shane smith could be an addition to anyone here so do we take the slight plus money on the white socks even though the lineup for the diamond i i do not know what to do with this game but my instincts tell me it’s a short price on the diamondbacks but i can’t back eduardo rodriguez now eduardo eduardo rodriguez stinks um and we we had said before like we we like shane smith if you’re looking to get a little frisky with this white sox team at any point in the season you probably should prioritize shane smith starts so i think if you were going to do it this feels like a game that that might make some sense uh having said that i just i i still i i don’t have i don’t have the stones to to back the white socks i’m i’m still i’m i’m negative units and i don’t think the white socks are going to be the team that’s going to dig me out of this hole here um and like rodriguez like he’s been he’s been bad he’s giving up a ton of contact but i don’t know if it’s more the fact that he’s just been lucky or is this just sort of who he is because he’s given up nine five six66 hits in his in his last five starts like you would think there would there would have been a whole lot more damage in those games but his last three starts he hasn’t given up more than two earned runs and again i don’t know if it’s a factor of you know lucky contact like hard hit balls going just to the to the right spots or if this is just if he’s just a pure pitch the contact hitter um i’m not sure uh i’m not going to be back in the diamondbacks here but i don’t know if i have the uh the the fortitude to to get on the white socks here i’m curious how bdub uh grades this game yeah bdub i wanted like i i want like 15 or 20 more cents i want like plus 130 140 right if i’m going to back the white socks here even though everything’s telling me to fade rodriguez and then the lineup discrepancy for me is really hard to overlook uh tough game here in my view short price though on the diamondbacks what do you think weather too one thing i want to say before bdub it it is wickedly hot in in chicago today like it is across the entire country it’s already a bit of a hitter friendly park looks like the wind’s blowing out to left here um like of all the park factors this game and the milwaukee game have they they grade out the best in terms of increased home run potential because of the weather and stadium factors so just something to keep in mind i think if you make contact in this game the ball’s going long craziness yeah what do you think bdub in this one be back in your hometown debbacks who are used to the heat quite frankly right you think if you you’re an arizona diamondback you’re used to that desert heat right uh yeah it’s it’s really sucks in fact yesterday was uh when we went went to the game it was hot my my father-in-law was just really just oh it’s so hot i thought it was great i thought the weather was nice in philly so that shows shows you how hot it’s it’s been out here and it always is in arizona but for this game you know kenny makes some good points uh i i think that that the the the technical metric analysis was e-rod stinks which is as good as any um but like if you look he he’s kind of an an interesting guy because uh you look at like the the uh old expected numbers the metricbased numbers and and i have him in the model at at uh 6% worse than average which is where he’s at this year uh from the expected year at 4.24 but when you’re talking about average allowed he’s close to the bottom uh if you look at my pitcher ratings uh on my website basswinter.com uh he’s 183 i think there’s 201 guys there and on batting average aloud but you got you got to question there’s a lot of noise in batting average so and he’s he’s always tough to bet on i i mean just just watching him pitch uh but i think that there’s enough noise in there that that’ll probably regress to the better uh as far as that metric goes you know one thing that i like about – and i think it’s going to play into the kenn kenny mentioned there was going to be gus here and there is and and you think about it from a hitting perspective but i’ve ever since i’ve started throwing the discus i’ve been thinking about it from a pitching perspective because i hell i can’t hardly stand up straight when i’m when i’m like that and these guys got to they got to go into a windup and and they’re getting blown all over the place so i think it affects the pitcher too and his location number e-rod’s 91st percentile and he hits his spots it it really measures up when you watch him that’s another thing when you watch the game and you’re thinking well the location number he hits the spots a lot and uh shane smith in the 12th percentile so that’s going to play into it uh just from a starting pitcher matchup but i don’t think that that’s where the rubber meets the road people like to say that a lot where the rubber meets the road here is uh is the the the offense diamondbacks number one in baseball by my ratings last ask you real quick corbin carroll may or may not be in the do we have any update on corbin they’re they’re talking that he will be in the lineup uh at least at least uh and i use rotoire projections for that they do a pretty good job of it uh and he may not and it you know uh before anybody goes into the chat box please don’t because because kyle like it was the most animated show i think it was the most animated show i think of all year but the the the offense diamond pins are are are poor but the white sox are worse so you put all that in the mixer i’d have minus 216 i’m going to go with the diamondbacks and you know what i gave myself a little bit of insurance in case that bullpin comes in and starts blowing the game i gave myself plus one and a half parlayed it with the mets plus one and a half and when that hits it’s plus 133 kyle yep there we go so for purposes of the show the second leg of the base winner parlay two alt red lines diamondbacks plus one 12 mets plus one a 12 and that’s sitting at plus 133 let’s [Music] heat heat [Music]
