Will There Be A Miami Dolphins Culture Change?!
an incredibly and I’m talking incredibly hot Tuesday in New Jersey it’s literally 10 and something degrees right now but we are going to be talking about the culture of the Miami Dolphins and that whole culture change situation [Music] what is up Finn fans yeah literally I’ll show you right now i’m recording this at midnight because that’s normally when I work but if you look on my phone at the weather for tomorrow I don’t know if you could see it it’s going to be 100° tomorrow and then 96 on Wednesday and then 76 on Thursday 71 on Friday what is this weather so we’re going to talk about the culture uh Pro Football Talk has a little sixinute piece that we’re going to listen to i’m not going to show cuz I don’t feel like getting copyright claimed we’re going to listen to it we’re going to react to and all that stuff but first I have to address something and I talked about it I think Sunday or Saturday that uh I found this I didn’t I was given this article somebody DM’d me and was like “Hey you need to make a video on this.” And I was like “Let me check out the article i’m going to take full ownership of this.” This is what the article looked like right this is the article uh Eagles new star thrilled in Philly sends five-word message to fans and then he says this is the quote that I put on Twitter lamb told ESPN you know blah blah blah come to the realization that this is a fake article now I need to own up to not doing more research into it and I it is 100% my bad i take full ownership into it i deleted the tweet i made sure to clarify before I deleted the tweet because I’m like let me get this out of here i don’t want to spread misinformation about Kendall Lamb that isn’t true um again I saw told Lamb told ESPN and my brain was like oh all right so this is from an ESPN video whether NFL live or whatever cool no Doug you need to do better you need to research it more and you need to not go off of these janky sites so I’m not going to blame the person who sent me the article and said “You need to do a video.” I do apologize should have definitely did more research into where this quote came from that 100% is on me definitely learning from this and I’m definitely going to do better going forward i do apologize if this quote misled anybody uh again that is obviously not my intentions and even some people hit me up and they were like “Where’d you get that quote from?” And I sent this article i was like “This is where I got the quote from somebody sent this to me this is where I got the quote from.” So again if anybody used the quote or if anyone thought it was true from me I do apologize if you got this article or if you saw this article and think the quote is true from the article it is not because somebody also shout out to I don’t remember who it is showed me there’s like five different players saying the same exact thing verbatim just switch the teams like Amari Cooper said that about going from the Browns to the Bills and you know a bunch of people have sent it to me so shout out to those people helping me out i need to be better i need to do better i will next time do more research not just go off of the fact that it said lamp till ESPN and think that is okay and I do apologize i wanted to make clarity on that some people asked me in the comments section on the last video um and I do want to make put some clarity out there because again not my intentions at all so I am sorry if I misled anybody and I do wanted I that’s like the first thing I wanted to do in this video because we all talking about the culture and that kind of was a culture thing i hate misleading people i don’t like being misled myself click baiting and all that stuff so when I get caught doing it and if it’s a dumb mistake on my end I’m going to come on here i’m going to own up to it and I’m going to apologize to you guys and girls so I am sorry if I misled you i will do better next time and I have definitely learned from my mistakes not mad at that person that sent me the article but I’m going to do more research so now let’s go into the P pro football talk or NFL on uh NBC but it’s pro football talk they are talking about what Tu has said um about the culture and he said “Are you not tired of what uh we’ve done these past 5 years if you are then why aren’t we uh doing anything about it?” And this is what they have to say i haven’t heard this yet so this is a live reaction here’s the thing it feels like we hear this every year the Dolphins are undergoing some sort of change there’s some sort of shift there’s some sort of this there’s some sort of that at the at the end of the day I want to know that they’ve taken to heart the criticism that has come from inside the house when Jordan Brooks linebacker for the Dolphins says after a Thanksgiving night loss to the Packers in Green Bay when it was cold and we know the narrative about the Dolphins in the cold that they were soft on defense that’s all I care about what are they doing to change the perception slreality and it’s hard to call it only a perception when one of the guys on the team is saying it that makes it a reality what are you doing to change a reality that you’re physically a soft team what do you do and is that something that is being talked about with banning together and working together because if you remember I think it was in 2023 you team looks after the team I think was McDaniel’s quote on kind of what he wanted to do uh with you know the theme of the team and all that stuff and having Jordan Brooks come out saying you know that we played soft and yada yada at that point and that was still a pivotal point where we were still in a position to continue to win and do something you would you would think that McDaniel at that point would start to like Mike like Mike like Mike like Mike like Mike like Mike like Mike like Mike like Mike like Mike like Florio says here take a inner look kind of see where that quote you know where Jordan Brooks is coming from and try to work on that because you know they’re at a point where you’re at a crossroads after you lost to the Packers right you’re on a little bit of a win streak crossroads are we going to keep losing or we going to win and potentially claim a playoff spot doing and I don’t know that they’ve done anything and all they’ve done is talk it’s talk talk talk talk talk i want to see a different edge i want to see a different attitude during and I’m not saying they should start fights i’m not saying that but we know what their flaws are they’re a finesse team they’re not a tough team and talking about it in June isn’t going to change it for me i got to see it in September October and specifically November and December and I said that and I’m and I and I’ve seen a ton of other Dolphins player uh players Dolphin fans say the same exact thing right it’s nice hearing this it’s nice hearing Bradley Chub say it’s nice hearing Alec Engold talk about it it’s nice hearing you know all these guys come out and say “Yeah we were softer last year and we’re taking in on the culture and all that stuff especially the you know the bigger paid guys essentially and the hopeful uh leaders of this locker room.” But like Mike Florio said and we all can agree to that testament it’s nice to say it and how many times have we said it right you know if you don’t want to be uh labeled as soft if you want to be this you want to be that it’s a talking point it’s a true talking point obviously comes from somewhere you got to do something about it and then they don’t do anything about it and then they don’t turn that you know that road or you know whatever and and do better in the cold or do better against 500 teams you you uh you know this story even better than you think you do because it involves somebody uh who is on your f who is a part of your favorite team who was on the coaching staff of your favorite football team i understand that Tua and Brian Flores didn’t get along as Tua uh told the world last year very definitively hey if your boss says you’re horrible every time you come to work are you gonna feel good about yourself and and Brian Flores had to give a press conference to kind of respond to Tua’s comments so I’m not saying that that Tua is asking for this now but doesn’t it sound like the Miami Dolphins need what Brian Flores was trying to give them and maybe as a firsttime head coach he didn’t do everything the right way he didn’t say everything the right way but his intention was to take away any type of softness any type of weakness that the dolph that he felt the Dolphins had and and to equip them where they could hey we can we can beat you in the beautiful sun of Florida or we can go on the road we can go to Green Bay Pittsburgh uh New York any kind of cold weather environment and be successful that’s what they’re looking for they miss what Brian Flores was trying to give them maybe it was it was too early for Flores to do it uh that it was too early for the team to hear it and it was too uh early for Flores as a uh first time head coach to to deliver the message appropriately from what we heard and I hate that we’re talking about Brian Flores again it was four years ago from what we heard from players and obviously some of them have you know backtracked their comments like Xavier Howard um but like from Gaziki like from Tua like from you know other players on the defense as well talking about how there was favoritism and this this and that i will go down by saying this i think Brian Flores right now in the NFL is like top three best defensive coordinators in the NFL you know if if he never was the Dolphins head coach I would love for him to be the defensive coordinator i think he’s a great defensive-minded coach but I think he was a little bit maybe in over his head or the situation that he was put in was a little bit too much and by situation that is we want you to lose in 2019 um that he kind of went about things the wrong way maybe like he said too aggressively maybe because you have coaches that are aggressive that want you to be tough that won’t beat down your confidence and you you know who you are as a player um and again you could say too soft you can say whatever you want and I’m not going to sit here and say you’re right or wrong obviously we don’t know the you legit situation that happened between those two um but there’s there’s different styles obviously this is a different type of NFL we could see what’s happening with Jaylen Ramsey and Mike McDaniel we could see what’s happening with a bunch of different players in the NFL that want new contracts or demand respect or this it’s a different NFL it’s not the Schula era it’s not the Jimmy Johnson era it’s not you know these different styles you know the John Madden era you know all of these different styles of coaching where it’s like do what I say or you’re gone it’s more of you know you have these guys who are all are superstars that you need to be on that fine line to push them to do better but also not bring them down do I agree with it or not no but that’s where we’re at in the NFL right now today so with Brian Flores it seems like he was trying too hard to make a a a culture change too quickly again I’m just spitballing things seeing if things will stick on the wall because honestly I wasn’t in the building and I don’t know this is just going off of things I’ve heard from reporters and uh beat writers and uh quotes from players and stuff like that so there’s that possibility again you have you know Patrick Graham who left uh working with Flores to go do the same exact thing with the Giants why didn’t he stick with Flores you know there’s a lot of things that were going on there um but I think if he could go if Flores could go back in time he definitely would do things differently he obviously probably wouldn’t have he would have been more adamant not to draft to uh because again a lot of people want to be like Flores never wanted to if he never wanted to it would have never gotten drafted telling you that right now uh and if I go back in the 2020 draft I’m taking Tristan Worf’s at five because trenches trenches trenches but that’s my take on the whole Flores thing well and what we saw in Miami after he left and this is common for many teams the pendulum goes from one extreme to the other with the coach if you have a coach who is kind of an old hard ass nononsense don’t say a whole lot Bellich style i mean after 15 years with Bellich you can say “I’m going to be my own guy.” You don’t realize how much you’ve become like him just by being with him all the time so he’s out where do they go they go completely to the other end of the spectrum with Mike McDaniel touchy feely talks a lot i don’t know how and that’s where I’m talking about you need that middle ground right cuz Mike Flores is correct we went from Flores all the way to McDaniel we need to swing to the middle with like a John Harbaugh with like a Mike Tomlin with one of these guys who are going to get you to be tougher but not to that extreme how much he ultimately says but he talks a lot he’s got a very good relationship with his players players coach you know positive not a lot of conflict with his players i mean Tyreek Hill tells the world he wants out of Miami and their solution is to have extensive meetings with him to get to the point where he decides he wants to stay you know other coaches are like “Get the hell out if you don’t want to be here we’ll move on we want volunteers not hostages,” like Mike Tomlin would say so I think you’re right and the problem is they overcorrected and that’s what the dysfunctional teams do we have a coach that takes too far this way let’s overcorrect with the next one m so now the danger is going to be if Mike McDaniel doesn’t make it in Miami they’re going to overcorrect with the next one and that’s going to reintroduce Tua to the days of hard coaching and I got no problem with Tua not responding well to hard coaching not every quarterback not every player see but here’s the thing and here’s my push back on that right because again we don’t know what happened between Flores and Tua we obviously go off of what Tua said flores came out he had a a press conference where he apologized but Brian but Tuon Valley’s college coach was Nick Sabin like Nick Sabin literally made a player throw up on the field and then he made another player cry when he was a Dolphins coach to say that Tua doesn’t do well with hard coaching I don’t know if I believe that right obviously from what he says you know maybe that’s so but you got Brian Flores you got his dad who literally tied his right arm behind his back forcing him to be a lefty quarterback like do you honestly see these situations and think that Tua doesn’t do well with hard coaching that’s where I’m like I I’m trying to put pieces together and they’re not fitting and it’s just not making sense to me is going to respond to every coach the right way and it’s for the coach to That’s right modulate as needed best example when Derek Carr inherited John Gruden people that I know and trust have known and trusted for years in the NFL said “Carr’s never gonna make it he’s never going to make it with Gruden.” Well to his credit Gruden changed his approach because Gruden knew “I can’t be with Derek Carr the way I was with Chris Sims chris Sims could take it derek Carr can’t i got to act differently.” So we’ll see who the next coach is if it gets to that but that’s all the more reason that there’s pressure on the Dolphins this year because I think if it doesn’t work this year there’s a very good chance they’re going to have a house cleaning come 2026 because this whole oh we’re changing we’re changing we’re changing and then the end result is always the same at some point ownership has got to say we we have to we have to find a different way here i think they can make adjustments Mike but I don’t think they can change no not fully mike McDaniel can change uh the the culture of the Dolphins so they’ve spent so much time building something that was the anti- Flores program uh Ryan Flores they did all their interviews it wasn’t a fit i remember Steven Ross saying that in a statement and Chris Chris Greer hey we’re going in a different direction and so they bring in Mike McDaniel because of what he brings that positivity that you talked about that community feel and giving play empowering players and now if you change that could be that kind of undermines things too is that really who you are i thought you told us a few years ago that this is who you are so I think you can make adjustments and say hey this is where we’re weak guys uh and we need to get a little bit better but I don’t see any radical turnover working with the Dolphins i I just I I just can’t imagine how that would be successful it’s so and that’s the video so I will say this about the last thing he said i don’t think necessarily after they moved on from Flores they hired Mike McDaniel because he was a player friendly coach this is going to sound harsh and again it’s just my opinion i think they hired Mike McDaniel one um because he said he you know he said that he could help Tua and he has like you can’t not say he hasn’t you know you you’ve seen you know Tua with Flores and then Tua without Flores he’s much better um but also I and again this is going to sound bad I don’t think they really had many other options now I’m not crapping on McDaniel but and I talked about this when we were casting that net for a new head coach they kind of pigeon holed themselves and they kind of made that net they wanted to cast much smaller by saying “You have to work with Tua and you need to keep keep Josh Boyer as your defensive coordinator.” All of a sudden you have head coaches that are like “No I want complete control over my coaching staff and I want to get the quarterback I want if it’s two it’s two if it’s not it’s not.” And by doing that by throwing that out there they narrowed their net down and then they got a guy who was very ambitious very driven who’s never been a coordinator like obviously he was but he never called any plays and came in and said “I can make two or better.” And again he has but I think that’s why they went with McDaniel i don’t think it had to much to do with they were trying to go in the complete opposite realm of um Brian Flores but like they said you know you need to recognize this in the ownership right and ownership said this past you know January or whatever you know status quo isn’t good enough and the play on the field wasn’t even though you kept it all the same you kept the GM who is doing the same things he did last year and you kept the head coach who we’ll see if he makes any changes but it’s the same and he talks about uh Mike Floyer talks about you know two is here next year you know they’re going to have to bring in a co and again some people don’t want to hear this but if it gets to the point where Mike McDaniel is fired I will be shocked if two is the quarterback next year for the Miami Dolphins because then it it means it got to the point where the wheels have fallen off the season is down the drain it’s time to reset like the me Personally again you could disagree i hope if you do disagree comment below love chatting about disagreements but also comment below do you think there can be a culture sh change obviously I’m of the group of you know nice to hear it but I need to see it what are your thoughts do you think it’s going to happen do you not think it’s going to happen are you in that group of you know it’s nice to hear it I need to see it comment below i will see you tomorrow i have to calculate how many days uh weeks anyway because we’re it’s about a month now and I have a lot of um positions I have to get to with the camp battles so you might start getting three a week so you might get one of them uh tomorrow or you got some other things going on tomorrow that I’m going to make i don’t know yet but comment below let me know what you guys think again big fat I am sorry for the misinformation on the Kendall Lamb quote again in the future I will do my damnedest to make sure that these uh websites that I am given and these articles that I am given to make reactions to are fully vetted and I you know thank God I did fully vet it after I posted the tweet because I didn’t make a video because I was going to incorporate it into this video talking about hey even Kendall Lamb is saying yada yada so I’m very happy that I did the due diligence but the damage was done by making the tweet and I just want to again wholeheartedly apologize i will do better i promise you of that but other than that I’ll see you tomorrow like usual stay classy fs up

Menstrual Flo was NEVER told to lose games!!! That's something he made up in part of his race hustle. If we wanted to lose we would've kept Gase. Flo could even get along with his other coaches – not even his best friend wanted to work with him!
Doug I know I'm old school but I'm tired of players that are primadonas. They think their actors and yet they can't do their jobs without excuses. They make far to much money not to be able to play the game at a professional level. Can we return to the day when players had a passion for the game not just collect a check !
Probably not, sucks to say
Complete clown organization.
If you believe for a second that there's gonna be a change you are a FOOL!!
0:47 it’s summer time Douglie. Break out the baby powder and powder them nuts buddy. It’s gonna get toasty for a few days. 😢
Happy Tua is pushing for the culture change. People will still come out and say he’s not a leader tho.
Idk man, I’ve been hearing about this culture change every couple of years since like 2002. lol
Doug tuas protector lmaooooo
Can happen but seeing is believing. 🐬🐬
Look what his defense did in the playoffs against an elite team. Flores is overrated.
Hey doug you're all good bro. I obviously bet you even more for a midnight. That you've got some faulty information. That's what's up. That's why I love and respect you Doug.
Doug great podcast and I agree with you as you have mentioned lets see it all season long. But our biggest issue the past two years is our dogs and best players get insured defense and offense, keep up the good work buddy
Hell no
Hey Doug, Great Job with the way you structure this meaning, position battles. And All Major events. Like Listening to You (John Candy – complement only) I love watching the Dolphins and All their Amazing Talent. Let's hope we have a successful season. Loving the Running backs, new O & D line. and Pass Rush Chopp, Chubb, Phillips Kamara. Smith TE, and WR's/ The Running backs can carry this team in Cold Weather / Night games / away games / Heavy Rain / Mudder. Very Bullish on the Phins.
i mean ironically…..we had our best seasons when we leaned into being soft ….maybe we needed to just go full soft lol…. like a real elite basketball team of all white and light skin players with great ball movement lmao
Whatever happened to players playing their contract out? It seems that players have more pull then owners and coaches. If that's the case teams should be able to pay players less for poor production!!! All it does is lots of dead money in the end
The problem with Flores was he didn't have a good offense coach and flo was running plays and that's not his strongsuit
Hey Doug, I think it's all up to McDaniel, can he do better. You have all the pieces to change with your new draft picks this year. Can he coach them up that's his only shot.
It’s a difference between hard nose coaching and downing a player just because you don’t like that said player I’ve always say coach me don’t disrespect me
Miami is soft they have been soft for years..McDaniels is a soft coach (no hate intended) so i do not believe there will be a culture change with McDaniels still in charge it wouldn't work he doesn't know how to be tuffer and the team which is soft would not take him serious an retaliate like they did with Flores.
It's the 3 bears Doug. Flores was too hard and McDaniel is too soft. We are looking for just right. Flores is a great D coordinator, but he is not head coach material. He needs someone above him to monitor him.
You have to play soft these days because of the rules.
Only time will tell Doug! I hope it changes for the better! Phins up!
I DONT CARE ABOUT MCDANIEL I JUST WANT CHRIS GRIER GONE, HE'S THE MAIN VILLAIN.
Been a 🐬 since 82.. Doug u the only one I watch for news. I'm surprised u a Miami fan considering u are up there with the jets…keep going man..u kick ass
Doug I think the problem with Ramsey is with GRIER not McDaniels
9:33 Flo started Tua too soon, and didn’t build an oline that could protect a pocket passer.
