Dallas Braden releases a statement.

  1. So the “✌️💚💛” tweet was an actual offering of peace knowing people would be upset?

  2. “Our franchise. Our community.”

Which franchise and which community is that exactly, Dallas?

  3. As a die hard Oakland Athletics fan who hates this move to Vegas and our owner, I will defend Dallas Braden to the end. He’s been a huge part of the Athletics organization for a while and has always been a voice for the fans during the toughest of times. I for one am pleased he’s still associated with the squad even with all the shenanigans that fisher is putting us through because he keeps me connected, even when I don’t want to be. I hope everything with the move falls apart, but instead have the owner forced to sell and the Athletics stay in California, but only time will tell.

  4. John Fisher is the enemy. Not Dallas Braden. Anybody that’s giving him shit is just an asshole.

  5. If this means he’s working for the As I’m ok with it.

The guy needs a job. What’s he supposed to do?

  6. “I’m not the government so I can’t control the weather.”

    Alright. I’ve heard enough.

  7. wait…is the government controlling weather comment for real? like is he a conspiracy conservative nut?

  8. Whatever you might think, Dallas was loyal as hell to Oakland. He was with us standing in the crowd at the reverse boycott and was in tears on a podcast when it was announced that the A’s were leaving. I hate the move to Vegas as much as anybody, but Dallas is not to blame.

  9. Did he quit his broadcasting position for the A’s? What the heck is going on? Is this a goodbye to everyone?? I’m so confused.

  10. I’ll eat the downvotes for this one. Some of y’all have to stop hand waving and excusing shitty behavior and actions. This is a bitchmade, sellout move. He’s trying to have his cake and eat it too. With this statement and being the MC for the Vegas shit yesterday, he’s showing you exactly who he is: he’s willing to leave Oakland behind for the money. He is totally okay with moving the team as long as he gets paid. That’s fine, that’s his prerogative, but it’s not above criticism or a shield for being called out for what it is. The “smiles he saw on the kids faces,” line is especially fucking gross because it means he’s completely ignoring the tears and pain of the fans who loved and embraced the team in Oakland.

For everyone saying, “well what is he supposed to do, he’s got a family to feed.” Yeah, fucking everybody does. All the stadium employees were trying to feed their families, all the front office staff that was fired were trying to feed their families, but none of them were millionaires who had a plethora of options if they wanted to stay connected to the game. He could have joined another network, started a podcast, done work with Trevor May/Brodie Brazil, turned to coaching, or done anything else.

Bottom line, I don’t care how much you love or hate someone, if they do shitty things, they should be called out. Otherwise, they know they can get away with anything. You all excusing this shit is doing just that. Now he knows he can tap dance and grab his ankles for Fisher and you all will still support it. This is shitty, he’s shitty for it, and he’s fine removing himself from Oakland, so we should show him the same courtesy.

  11. Translation:

I care more about the franchise than the fans that made me and the team, have a great day.

  12. I think people are taking his government controlling the weather joke way too seriously. It’s a joke people lol

  13. He’s a sellout

Some of you don’t want to hear it, but he’s playing both sides and trying to claim he’s some ultimate ambassador for Oakland

    Fuck Dallas Braden

  14. Seems weird to boast about growing the game when Fisher actively shrunk it in the bay area.

  15. It seems Dallas doesn’t have a choice, but we do. Yes, that little kids smile…was once our smile, it was our root beer float and yes we were suckers! We became fans for 50 yrs and then the weather changed??? I respect Dallas, Stew and Rollie and the others, it’s their lively hood but I could never go that route. It’s like watching the movie The Wrestler, so sad to watch our generational heroes, that one’s that made us smile, that brought us joy and sorrow, become forever a heartbreak. FJF!

  16. I know he has a family to feed and a living to make but a man has to have some principles. I can’t deny it anymore he’s a sell out

  17. Wtf do yall expect Dallas to do? This is his livelihood we are talking about. The rest of us can cut our attachments easily, we aren’t feeding our family through the same avenue Dallas is. Come on yall get real

  18. Dallas can do whatever he wants.. folks need therapy badly around here.

  19. I’ve seen some people online call him a sellout for staying with the A’s even when they’re leaving. What do they want Dallas to do? Quit his dream job with the team he used to play for?

  20. It’s not “growing the game” when FJF deliberately moves the team to a smaller market to line his pockets with revenue sharing money.

  21. Meh Dallas stuffing Fishers piece directly down his throat. Not everyone can have Brodie Brazil level integrity and burn it all down instead of getting on your knees
