Is there a chance Elias Pettersson gets moved prior to July 1st?
a lot of people at TSN are jealous because they know that this is my best friend at the network it’s Forhan Luli our Vancouver Bureau chief what a guy uh Forhan let’s talk about the Canucks let’s start with Elias Patterson july one that no move clause kicks in is there is there a scenario a realistic one for Hon where Jimmy Rutherford and Patrick Alvine go fullon nuclear and just blow this thing up and trade Person before the deadline i’d be surprised and I know that his name has come up in trade conversation i think there were times when it was serious going back to last year’s deadline and at times this off season but I think when the Canucks management realizes the level of work that needs to be done to fix this roster and it starts down the middle I I just think they believe that the best thing to do is for them to try to rehabilitate the player and try to get the most out of him because you you’re just not going to replace him if he can get to that point again and find two centers that need to be in your top six even with Person they need to find another guy and I think when they looked at the trade market for the player and what was potentially coming back and you know the work that was going to need to be done around that I just figure that either scenario was a gamble for them keeping him with his no trade kicking in on July 1st or moving him and then have to try to replace two guys so it was a tough decision i’m not sure it’s finally been made but I would be surprised if Person got traded before the deadline or before July 1st I should say so you mentioned up the middle uh an area of need for the Canucks is that the number one area of need in your mind what does this this you you also mentioned this team has a lot of things they have to address talk to me well truly I think the needs are in the top six i think when you look at how the blue line got reconstructed midseason I think it’s solid one of the best in the league quite frankly beyond just Quinn Hughes and I think it’s deep and even in the minors they’ve got some potential answers there with a guy like Tom Wheelander who got signed and was a high draft pick for them but up front particularly in their top six they’ve got big needs because you lose JT Miller in all likelihood Brock Ber is going to be out the door so you know you were short a guy to begin with and Jim Rutherford said at the end of the season that he probably felt he needed three high-end forwards and many people thought he might say one or two so the fact that he jumped out on the ledge and said that it’s not just one top six center they need one or two additional scoring wingers to go along with say a guy like Jake De Brusk and Connor Garland so lots of needs up front the backhand and in goal there I think they’re in pretty good shape okay speaking of goal though Thatcher Demco one year remaining on his current deal kevin Lankin has that five-year extension he agreed to last year you’ve got Archers Sheil sort of waiting in the wings maybe that’s why we’re starting to hear Demco’s name mentioned in potential trade talks uh what is your take on the Conucks goalending situation yeah I think there’d be a lot of teams around the league that would probably want to take a leap at Demco knowing he’s just got one year so you’re not really tying yourself to term with him and if you can get him healthy this guy’s one of the top five goalenders in the league in my opinion but getting him healthy is easier said than done he’s healthy now but can he stay healthy and in the last few years he just hasn’t proven to be that durable so I think the Canucks would like to extend him he has said all the right things that he does want to be back we’ll see if he actually does but I think there’s going to have to be a bit of risk taken on both sides i don’t think the Canucks can go out and give him big big term and I don’t think he can expect that he’s got to show he can get through a season healthy they gave Lanin the extension as you mentioned i thought they went high and long on Lankin and I was surprised that it was four and a half a year over five years he hasn’t proven himself he hasn’t had that sample size yet so I think if they can get Lankin in for half the season and Demco playing half the games as well which puts him in the best position to stay healthy I think they can be okay and then Sheilov’s has been amazing in the American Hockey League playoffs but it wasn’t his best performance when he played at the NHL level this year even though he was good in the playoffs last year but he certainly rehabilitated his value during these playoffs and gives the organization something to think about but some depth in goal as well for Vancouver uh the Conucks now with just over 12 million in cap space heading into July 1st farhon Liy always fun chatting with you thanks pal thanks bestie

Nooe hes not moving
POS says "full nuclear" 🤦♂
There is, in response to the title of the video, a chance, but there’s under a week left for the Canucks to make such a move.
Please please move this guy.
Any 26 year old that signs a big deal and then doesnt train in the off season is poison.
I don't think that to many teams are willing to offer too much for Petey given the size of the contract. Maybe a team that is under the cap min, but then what are you getting back in return? The Canucks do need 2 top 6 forwards, and as much as I love seeing Silovs in our uni, his days have to be numbered. He's too valuable an asset not to trade. If the plan is Lankinen and Demko, then Silovs is an asset that they Can afford to trade. And probably should. Tolopilo has been good, and it will be his chance to step up and earn the #1 spot in Abbottsford.
Still, Given that Vancouver is in a 'need' position, it's going to be tough for them to climb in the standings (and ticket sales) unless they make a relatively big splash in the trade & free agent markets.
i hope they trade Pedestrian
I don't even think EP40 could play for Abby Canucks
Yes why not He can sign with Edmonton Oilers playing with McDavid ❤❤❤
Considering what is out there… the Canucks should take a flyer on E Kane. He brings some well needed size and grit. Hopefully our D and penalty kill can cover his lapses
This segment and title is click bait
When Petey lights it up , ima come back to this thread .
Don't give up on this guy. He's gonna have a great year.
Please please PLEASE trade 11.6
Canucks just won the cup and you guys are making a negative piece??
Moving along from Pettersson for the Canucks, Bouchard and Nurse for the Oilers. Get some consistency instead.
Only Canucks fans are stupid enough to want to trade their talent away. One just won a cup with the Panthers. Panthers are so grateful you all never seen anything in Gustav Forsling 2× cup champion. Or how about paying OEL to win a Stanley Cup last year and helping the Leafs make the playoffs this year. Only Canucks fans are happy watching their stars win cups with other teams.
Trade Demko should be a priority
Move on from this buttercup 😅😅
D is not that good, Hughes wants out, goaltending is overpaid (lankinen) and Demko is broken. Don't give me any hope from Abbotsford either when their best players are pushing 30. This team is in rough shape.
Only a complete moron would NOT trade him. “He’ll bounce back”. Yeah, sure. Been hearing that for OVER a year now.
People were like “He’ll get back at 4 Nations”. Look at his stats, hmmm not surprising. Even Sweden bumped him from 1st C to the 3rd line C.
That’s the worst contract in the NHL, and it’s not even close. In what world is he worth 11.6 million dollars?
The comments on this are pathetic.
Pretty sure Petterson is injured. Most players like Auston Mathews who are injured won't disclose it. Don't think he will have a turnaround. It would've happened already.
If Vancouver wants to win like Abbotsford…. Petey isn't compatible
Fine with me. Guy's, a dud, anyway. More importantly, he appears to be a dressing room cancer.
Get rid of 11.6 he can’t play in Vancouver anymore
Who actually cares? Would it change anything if he goes. Same as if marner would leave leafs. What would it matter? Nothing would change
Marners replacement in Toronto? Or do toronto go towards a 'Sam bennett' type player? 🤨
No question we moved out the wrong center. However now we have no choice but to keep EP40 as we are already down a top six center. We will have to trade a goaltender and a top four Dman to get some scoring up front and then hope for the best. But if EP40 does not return to form this year, the Canucks will have to tear it down and rebuild or just be shitty for another decade or two. Probably the later with this ownership.
Where are you going to find a return that has even the slightest possibility of having Pettersons ceiling as a center?? Get real. Don’t give up on players, work with them. Look at Florida for many, many examples (Gustaf Forsling for one)
This signing will go down as one of the worst signings ever. In the same column of the disastrous Rick DiPietro signing by the Islanders back in the day. Pettersson is completely unmovable. The only hope for the Canucks is to put him on waivers in which case he will clear and they can drop him down to the minors and free up his contact salary although they still have to pay him, it won't be a cap hit.
He cost us our best player and an MVP coach. He's done. Good riddance.
How many Elias Perttersons are on the NHL?
Trade him for what? A bag of pucks? 😂
Bring back Louie Erickson, please
Move him for a high first plus.
TRADE HIM THE TEAM CANT AFFORD TO PAY THIS GUY GET REAL
