Red Sox vs. Angels Game Highlights (6/23/25) | MLB Highlights

With Sunday’s loss, the Halos now 37 and 40 on the year. So we move on three game series. The Red Sox are in town. Boston enters 4039 on the year six games back of the Yankees in the American League. We in the American League East, excuse me and just a half a game back of that final wild card spot night for baseball. And Mark as Janowitz wraps up his warm up tosses, we’ll see how he fares taking on the Boston Red Sox, a team that he will be facing for the very first time. Always an advantage for a pitcher even though they’ve watched video until you step in that box and see how the ball comes out of his hand. Completely different scenario. One away Abraham Toro will be the next batter at the Villa for base hit Abraham Toros the ball with the first hit of the ball game and one down in the first inning, one out single. And roman Anthony, a rookie who wasn’t with the Red Sox three weeks ago when the Angels face them in Boston, he gets ready to bat. He’s a left handed hitter and he goes the other way for a base hit in the left field. Ward will scoop that up, Toro down a second right away. The Red Sox have something going on. If you throw him fastballs more often than not, he’s going to crush those fastballs here. Now, Trevor’s story, a real opportunity for him hammered on the line that’s going to drop down for a base hit to is the third and stopping there and the bases are loaded on three consecutive singles. And what a huge opportunity this is early in this game. Will you abreu the bases loaded and only one out have to cash it in and to left field that’s going to drop down a base hit. Torres scores. Here comes Anthony. Here’s the throw home, he’s safe. Trevor story will scamper down to third as the second out there cut down. He was very tardy trying to make his move to second story got in there easily to third Red Sox on top two to nothing. It was a really good immediate read by story on the throw home. Will, you’re a little late to head up to second. That’s a big play because now they’re two outs with a runner at third for sedans. That’s a base hit into left field. Another run scores, sedan stays absolutely smoking hot. The Red Sox are mauling Kowitz loud contact all over the place and it is three to nothing back in L A Anaheim tonight. Long time Dodger has a three nothing lead as we go to the bottom of the first inning, five and five with a 595. a he got absolutely rocked last time out in Seattle that is leading off tonight at shortstop back in the lineup hitting second and Mike Trout is back and that is home run on the first pitch from buehler. It’s a homer for Netto, his homer now on two pitches in his last two at bats. That’s a quick hands for Magneto. Well, we’ve seen that a few times from Zack Netto this season leading off a ball game with a home run. That’s his 12th of the year and the Angels get a run back and trail it 3 to 1 sixth time that Zack Neto has led off the Angels first inning with a home run with three runs in, in the first inning, a leadoff homer. And Then after an out two straight walks, joe Adell stands in here with two outs, two on. That’s a base hit good jump around second base from Trout heading home. Durant’s throw is on the way. It’s up the line and Trout scores RB I for Joe Adell, the Angels are within one. Trout with two outs is going on contact and scores easily on that throw from Durant. And this is the one thing the Angels have been really good at is the answer back runs. Oh, God made his hit by the pitch so that loads the bases. The batter is gonna be Louis Rengifo. That’s ball four Miller walks in a run to tie the game three walks for the Halos in this inning and a hit by pitch three to two delivery. He walked them that was high and outside and the Angels have taken the lead. It’s now 4 to 3 and I’ll tell you what Mueller looks terrible right now. Four walks and a hit by pitch, shocking for him gets hit by the pitch. Another RBI, a little painful one for Netto making it a five run first inning that’s going to force in another run and the Angels now lead it 5 to 3 with two hits in the inning. The Angels have scored five runs change up and the last stop for Kanitz against the Yankees starting to find something with that new grip. Yeah, he’s not a big, generally a big swing and Miss guy, but he had six swing and misses four strikeouts with his changeup. Five outs total of 18, he threw against the Yankees. Comes back to get the strikeout with a high fastball for strike out for Jack Tonight. Patient at bat there for Anthony’s on base for the second time already in this ballgame, a single. Now, one hour walk. Now will Bree is the batter Bree with a two run base hit in the first inning bouncer flying bat as the ball ricochets to christian Moore and the bat avoided Shana well, and the inning is over, that one will go 143. A will leave a runner on and the Red Sox have the leadoff man on for the second time in four innings against Kowitz. That’s the six hitter, Rafaella Marcelo Meer now goes the runner. It’s too high dive in there as the throw goes off the glove of the shortstop. Netto and rolls into shallow center but no advance. And that will be stolen. Base number 11 for sedan 2 to 2 and a little topper over the hill. Netto will flip it on to first base in time there and Rafaelle safely down to third. So that does advance. The runner Wong took a walk in the second high fly ball to left field ward is there. He’ll make the catch tagging ups on Rafaella and he is easily to score and Conor Wong is his first RB I of the year that will make it 54 HLE on June 23rd. Conor Wong has his first RB I 54 games sox down one in the fourth. Zack Netto has come to the plate three times. He hit a home run to lead off the first. He had an RB I hit by pitch in the same inning and now he’s singled against Bueller in the fourth. No interference will be called here as is out at second base Taylor seven from Walker Buehler today and the Angels have the bases loaded. Bueller gets the ball back stalks off the back of the mound. Takes a deep breath and stares high into the cloudless sky. It does not take a whole expert or best friend or anything to know how he feels right now and popped him up out. Goes Hamilton, a brave coming on. Hamilton makes the catch. They’re gonna leave him loaded despite a total of seven walks tonight. Still a one run game hard contact and great hustle by Durant to get into scoring position. Here’s Abraham Toro, here’s a ground ball to short. Durant got himself in trouble here. Now he’s in a run down Moore chases down Durant now play at second base and it’s a double play. He saw some bad baserunning recently for the Red Sox and that pl it right now, alex Cora came immediately out of the dugout. He’s looking into ramon Vasquez and now the Red Sox they want them to come together. He says I want you to check. Alex is now hearing I think from the Red Sox video room confirmation of whatever it is that he’s speculating on and obviously, I mean, the umpires having a long conversation, so whatever he’s brought up here is , is a legitimate point and now they’re going to call Alex back out, give their assessment of things. Alan Porter, the crew chief, alex goes, whatever Alan Porter said to him, alex goes. No, no, it’s a ground ball underneath. Durant’s feet. Maybe that’s what they’re saying that it hit Jaren and that he should be out and it should be a hit for Toro. I mean, that would be a sort of a positive outcome for the Red Sox given that instead it’s a double play. And now I think we’re going to hear from the umpires here. Now, alex Cora has been thrown out. He said one thing too many for Allen Porter. He’s been frustrated all night long. He’s pointing out to the second base bag. He’s been all over these umpires all evening long and he is getting his money’s worth right here. A lot of Red Sox and all of them are standing and giving Alex Cora a round of applause as he comes off the field. I am dying to see how this one ends, sucks. Trying to overcome. As mentioned, a tortured start by Walker Buehler tonight. The drive out to left racing back, turning around and that ball gets out of here home run, Trevor story. This game is tied and for story number 11, it’s a 55 game hanging sweeper and Then it hung in the left field bullpen had a weird night just keeps on being weird. And that loads the bases in a tie game in the seventh inning for roman Anthony some cheese upstairs 96 two gone in the inning. As a strike three, Larry, the cheese Devers Polishes off Anthony and story and does a great job they fail to get the go ahead run in runners at the corners no outs. Christian Moore will be the batter fly ball right center field. See if it’s deep enough for Wade will Abreu makes the catch. Wade is coming home. Here comes the throw from Abreu. It’s too high. It’s now 65 sack fly for Christian Moore. Another bases loaded situation for the Angels in this game and another walk issued by the Boston Red Sox. 10th walk in the game takes 44 walks for Ward this one with the bases loaded. The big insurance run 7 to 5. That is huge. There’s Travis d’Arnaud trying to put this game to bed. A base hit to left. That’s huge. Netto and Trout come home to play toward the plate too late and delivering is Darna and the Angels have busted it open now it’s 95. So after the last pitch that Jansen made, he kind of grimaced a little bit and he was moving his arm around. I don’t think he’s gonna continue here. So Jansen will not be able to continue here. Hopefully, Marris will to close out this ninth inning and one more out to go. That’s a check, swing strike three, say good night to the Red Sox. The Angels take game one in this series and took all sorts of ways to win. A lot of walks helped along the Angels score a 95 win against Boston getting her steps in today with walking but also some key at bats. Zack Na got it started with a leadoff home run big game from him.

    Thank you Angels🎉

  3. Way to play halos
    THE ORIGINAL LOS ANGELES team
Halos in Los Angeles B4 dodgers. O’Malley bought the halos and sent them away to Washington and claimed Los Angeles doesn’t have a team. Then O’Malley proceeded to bring the Brooklyn dodgers to Los Angeles. O’Malley traded Wrigley Field (41st & Avalon) in Los Angeles to the city of Los Angeles for land @ Chávez ravine.
