Abbotsford Canucks Full Calder Cup Celebration, Handshakes, Trophy Presentation And Player Cup Laps

up like an onside kick in football three players lined up on the left wing mueller’s going to take the draw against Chris Colo it’s coming down to this folks one last drop of the puck perhaps checkers win it here’s Pul Yarvey left wing 3 seconds left for a shot misses the net hey Conucks Nation are you ready for this history has been made for the first time in franchise history the Abbas Canucks are Calder Cup champions let’s get out of here with the Calder Cup they pour off the bench the celebration is on they’ve done it Abbottzford they’ve done it the Canucks beat the Checkers in six games what a team what a season jubilation on the ice unbelievable there’s no better feeling than winning a championship with guys that you’ve been battling with all year long it starts in September scratch that it starts before that ryan Johnson having to completely remake the entire staff of the Abbottzford Canucks then it starts gets to training camp the guys are down to playing in Vancouver they end up getting sent down they form their team in Abbottzford and they start the journey together january they’re a 500 hockey team and they all seem to buy in at the exact right time and they go on a couple unbelievable runs and it ends now with pugs all over the place just an unbelievable feeling just an amazing job by this team to stick with it they had the opportunity to win it at home massive disappointment off a fluky bounce in an overtime goal to lose game five they take the long flight down to Charlotte they have morning skate today they reset just like Manny Mholdra talked about in the pregame and it ends with all their gloves and sticks on the ice and Archer Seoffs going over to the bench to grab himself some water he’s earned it he needs a drink after that performance make it a beer Arty you have definitely earned it where’s the hats where’s the t-shirts you know what get the banner ready the Calder is coming home abbottzford 32 the final a gutsy effort they were down by two they score the last three and the celebration will go long until the Charlotte Night baby the Conucks have done it just a few months from now it’s amazing to see adults act like children Landon because again you put so much work you know I said it starts in the summer it’s all the training all the days where all your friends are out they’re whether they’re on a boat on the water they’re on the golf course they’re messing around together but you’re the one you’re committed you’re in the in the wait room you’re in the on the ice in the middle of July and August when it’s so hot out you just want to go have a bit of time with your buddies but you know you got work to do well it’s all rewarded now as the handshake line starts and nothing but respect from both teams here again this was an unbelievable series both teams playing great they gave all us broadcasters all the fans unbelievable hockey to watch all the way to June tw what are we at june 23rd i have no idea just an unbelievable showcase from the Calder Cup finals just congrats again all the fans back in Abbottzford that showed up all season all through this playoff run especially for games three four and five just an unbelievable show of support well they’re going to be bringing a trophy back for you guys to celebrate with this game was so Abbottzford Kuck never giving up resilience down by two this place was coming alive and what do they do they rally they score the next three and now they’re going to have to declare a trophy at customs on the way home pretty incredible stuff as the handshakes are almost complete one of the best traditions in hockey and man give credit to the Checkers what a playoff they had Landon they left it all all on the ice as well oh they did as their fans are saluting them right now as they’re about to head off the ice for the final time of the 2425 season they deserve this round of applause they were such a wagon coming through the playoffs they take well they lose game one of the finals they come back with a great effort again in game two win that one in OT come to Abbottzford lose the first two have a great showing in game five to force a game six back here in Charlotte but just like we had talked about this the word that goes with this Abbey Kuck team is resilient for the second time they go down two nothing in a game to start out and they battled back and there wasn’t any doubt in their eyes as Kako Kakos giving his final salute at center ice to the crowd an old teammate of mine had a great showing once again but just wasn’t able to make that one extra save that down at the other end archer She loves has been there all through this run to make that extra one and they’re Calder Cup champions so the Conucks now having all sorts of staff on the ice manny Motra had a long embrace with Jordy Canary who’s done such a great job with this Checkers team ryan Johnson on the ice getting long hugs what a job Ryan has done he’s been the GM of the of the Vancouver Conucks affiliate going back to the Udica days in 2017 and he built an absolute wagon this year manny Malhotra in his first year is a Calder Cup champion is that good i think that’s pretty good and as we’ve talked about the players so much the amount of time and effort that the coaching staff trainers all of them have to put in but the tone is set from your head coach and this team picked the right guy to lead them this year he works so well with the players clearly has an unbelievable relationship with them again for me Brandon you’ve been here all season and getting to see it me for this Calder Cup final watching him interact with his players see how much not just how much he loves and enjoys working with them it’s same going back the other way everyone lining up to give an extra hug ah it’s just the best brandon are you thirsty i’m thirsty i’m a lot of things right now okay well we’re going to we’re going to quench our thirst later but we’re not going anywhere folks we are going to break down this entire celebration so if you want to go to the fridge right now and get a adult beverage of your own to celebrate i mean why not this is going to be a long celebration into the night as the Calder Cup is about to make its way to center ice i I got to say it again the Abbottsburg Conucks are Calder Cup champs the Abbottsburg Canucks are Calder Cup champs something that’s never can be taken away from you again and not only that but it absolutely ties you to the players that you’re out there with that you’ve been working with all this season there’ll be the all the reunions all the times that you end up randomly running into one of those teammates and all those memories come flashing back to you oh it’s just it’s the absolute best and it’s what makes hockey in the NHL AHL playoffs the absolute best landon’s a Calder Cup champion and you can tell he’s getting emotional you’ve been there done that you know the struggle you know the pain you know what it takes to be a champion in this league it is so hard the ups the downs the grind the playoff format is not easy and the Canucks are the last team standing it’s again it’s I I just keep saying it’s the absolute best as I was just talking about all those memories flashing back it’s exactly what’s happening right now i’m thinking of my team in 2013 and it again it just I know what these guys are going through and and the excitement the jubilation that you’re feeling and oh it’s only just getting started for them as the Calder Cup makes its way to center ice there it is and she’s beautiful and I’m just looking at a guy like Sammy Bl who’s won a Stanley Cup in a game seven he was just hunched over he’s he looks like he’s in disbelief on the ice because you never know when if you’re ever going to have a chance to win a championship again sammy Blade that was in 2019 he’s been through so much since then a couple knee surgeries having to battle back through multiple rehabs and while he’s just added another championship to his belt so they’ll do the playoff MVP first and I think I have a good idea who might win it i don’t want to throw any guesses out there but Scott Hen the AHL commissioner coming on the ice to award the Calder Cup playoff MVP i got a feeling there might be a certain party happening when this award gets announced that’s all I might say hello Charlotte i would like to first of all say congratulations to the Charlotte Checkers they ripped through the Eastern Conference with a 10-2 record they were relentless and they were a worthy opponent in these Calder Cup finals thank you to our fans we had great support throughout the Calder Cup playoffs and particularly here in Charlotte and Abbottzford we had record-breaking crowds thank you with me at center ice is our vice president hockey operations Haley Moore who will hand out the Jack Butterfield trophy that goes to the MVP of the Calder Cup playoffs there were so many great performances on this team right here but one player stood out he was the backbone of the hockey club he finished with a 16-7 record he played every game this year’s winner of the Jack Butterfield trophy as the playoff MBT is Arur’s Sheiloffs [Applause] [Applause] i would like to say congratulations to the Vancouver Conucks organization to Franchesco Aalini and the Akalini family to Jim Rutherford Patrick Alvine and most particularly to Ryan Johnson and Manny Malhotra your approach your commitment and your focus translated to these players it was a masterclass in leadership congratulations now to the players you become the first Vancouver Canucks organization hockey club to win the Calder Cup you become the first team from the Pacific Division to win the Calder Cup and because you went 391 and one in the last 41 games of the regular season because you went 16 and8 in the playoffs and won this series in six games and won your last game tonight you get to walk together forever chase Waters come up and get this Calder Cup scott Hen and then the celebration kicks up another notch the heart and soul of this team chase Waters a tremendous person first and foremost an outstanding hockey player does it all he gets the picture with Scott Hen you can see the anticipation building chase grab it hoist it in the air chase Waters and the Abbisford Canucks are officially Calder Cup champions his teammates swarm him everyone wants a piece of Calder and I’m sure everyone will get some solid time with it before the morning comes around oh that thing will get passed around as Chase Waters takes his Oh he almost drops it but a good recovery by the captain oh he goes and he does his first twirl around the ice giving it a nice big kiss just massive smiles as you can see him start to find the next player oh I love this they’re giving it to John Stevens who’s also been here since day one he’s been hurt since February he’s with the team on the road and he hoist his first Calder Cup way to go John unbelievable person and next up another heart and soul member no doubt about it guom breeze soaks pucks for breakfast lunch and dinner all heart guom this is also your moment this is unreal stuff and now Jet Woo he’s been with the team since the UNICA days jet Woo gets his turn with the Calder assistant captain of this Abbottzford team and who’s he going to find next he usually goes to veterans first and Phil DJI the oldest member of the Abbottzford Canucks phil back in a place where he called home he was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes played multiple years with the Charlotte Checkers and he is a Calder Cup champion and now Christian Wannon another veteran leader been with the team for a while he throws it over his head watching Banan lifted up it just brings me right back to that assist that he had a couple games ago out of the left hand corner spots a player all the way up the ice making a beautiful stretch pass sammy Blaze still hearing booze he says “I can’t hear you i got another ring.” What a playoff for Sammy BlΓ© got the scoring started tonight and he’s now got another ring coming towards Alita as Carlson the all-time leader in goals and points and he fittingly gets the game winner to take home the Calder Cup with his second period marker and now here comes Arthur Sheils the playoff MVP gets his turn with the trophy he’s a legend back in Lafia and I don’t think he’s going to be paying for a drink in Absford anytime soon either oh I don’t think so and rightfully so again just such an amazing job and now Tristan Nielsen’s turn another day the Fort St john kid a loud roar from that city in British Columbia well done Tristan and now Denila Kleovich he’s been here since day one persevered through a ton had a great playoff couple double overtime winners and he gives the trophy a big wet kiss and how about this two jar si stand up what an addition traded for future considerations at the deadline and a key piece of this cder cup winning team car’s going to find his suri brother Arsteep Baines that was pretty cool car to Baines and Ardep who was on fire in this series is a Calder Cup champion saw his dad and fiance in the elevator today they made the trip and it’s a good thing they did getting it next Max Sassin with the best playoff beard max raises it high and not only that but one of the fastest players in the league takes a couple hard strides with that trophy and now getting it is Nate Smith the 26y old his first year as a member of the Canucks he’s now won a Calder Cup solid winger well-liked in the locker room knight Smith who’s he going to hand it off to next it looks like it’s going to be Aikido Herros man what a story it does not get talked about enough he sat out this year more than he played got back in as a regular in February and Manny Motra had a hard time taking him out he looks so good and tonight poise with the puck makes it look easy and now Nikita Toapilo another very good goalender didn’t see a lot of action just one appearance in the second round he lifts high over his head and now we’ll start to see more younger guys get it I think and there’s the youngest of them all jonathan Leer Mackey take a lap kid you’ve won the Calder steps in the lineup in game three scores a couple goals nice little feather in his cap and Al Cutratzv all heart what a season led the team in plus minus in the regular season led the Calder Cup playoffs in plus minus and he hands it off to Tai Mueller the NHL in his future you’d have to think what an absolute stud 200t center in his first year has a ring cole Mcard he was awesome this year he takes his turn with a Calder Cup such a good player and Cole will hand to Victor Mancini victor acquired in the JT Miller trade how do you like it now Vic he’s loved his time in the Conucks organization and he loves it even more right now as he has won a Calder Cup and now he hands it to Dino Cam Cam bites the Colorado native always brings it lot of heart dino in his first year with the Canucks wins a Calder Cup and to Ratu makes the trip he’s been injured most of this playoffs he’s in his gear right now and he gets his moment up she’s going to hand it to the dock David Melnichuk one of the best personalities on the team and Dave lifts it over his head abbottzford native just means so much to him and then Ryan Johnson gets his turn a big fat kiss he raises it over his arms one of the best people you’ll ever meet in hockey ryan Johnson you have earned this and one of the coolest parts of this is the two biggest pops on the ice for when they lifted was Manny Mal Holtra and Ryan Johnson again just showing how it starts at the top you show respect you treat your players right social media whiz Cassandra Feder lifting it over her head that was cool but sorry we cut you off there no that’s all right she deserves her time too but those two like I was saying it starts at the top and how you treat your players and how that you interact with them and how you work through the season together you can tell the love that’s in this group as they’re starting to surround the trophy at center ice to take the picture that you’ll last a lifetime and it’ll be on everyone’s desks as they get older and they got the net it’s going to make the team picture it doesn’t get much better than this if you’re a Canucks fan they’re hooting they’re hollering what a moment unbelievable stuff and now more staff are going to make the team picture people behind the scenes that make this team tick you got to get them in there i I got What is What is back home like what is Abbottzford feeling what is Kucks Nation doing i can’t wait to get on X i don’t think I’ve ever said that before sl Twitter what’s that RD party like right now the RD party watch party is probably going crazy just like all of Kucks Nation as the team photo is over and the celebration will last on the ice for a bit longer it’ll make its way to the locker room and then maybe to a local establishment at worst case scenario the hotel and the team plane it’ll get a lot of facetime on a 5h hour trek home i mean a flight will never feel so good Lando

  1. Sitting here in Costa Rica listening for the full playoff series on the radio. At 70 years old it was worthwhile to listen and see this video tonight. Thanks.
Listened to many games while driving for Coast Mountain Bus at night, for 17 years. What an amazing run and how they fought to the very end to win it all. πŸ‘πŸ‘

  2. Well deserved! Very proud of these boys. I've been going to games regularly since they moved to Abby, and I hope this will solidify the fanbase, and make more of the non weekend games more well attended. This team deserves a good home crowd.

  3. I believe that the entire team eventually will be BC Sports Hall Of Fame inductees. Way to go Abbotsford! I used to live blocks away from Abbotsford Center. Gosh darn, if only I was still living there. Definitely I would have enjoyed watching the crowds from my condo balcony. Only one caveat that left me defeated, Often I had to fight through traffic when I was behind the wheel whenever an event took place just to get back to my parking space. I was pissed off when the parade for that fallen officer from Abby's finest took place and I had to park my car several blocks away. I just got off a long shift but I regained my cool and watched the procession make it's way to the arena.

  4. I’ve been a fan of the Canucks for 20plus years and instantly became an Abby Canucks fan when they relocated to Abby from Utica in 2021. I never once thought I’d be able to witness in my life time, a Canucks team hoisting a championship cup. all the pain, all the heart breaks and all the suffering from 2011. It’s an amazing feeling seeing the Canucks name go down in history as winning their first ever franchise championship cup after 55 years of hardship of the organization. I am so relieved and my childhood is healed a bit more.

  5. Congratulationsβ€” great team! The key is it’s not the strongest team that wins. It’s the one that wants it just a little bit more than an extra keep on believing. Nice to see the Vancouver Canucks farm team beat the Florida Panthers farm team. Both teams played with Class and respect for each other other far better than the NHL well done the AHL has really done well.

  6. Crack out the champagne and beers!πŸ’₯πŸ’«β€πŸ’― Hope this vibe carries on to the Big League group and training camp!!! Cheers Flohockey for the limited coverage!

  7. Shout-out to Brandon Astle and Landon Ferraro β€” stellar job in the booth!
Have to admit, I wondered if Landon might’ve gotten a media pass thanks to his old man, but credit to him did a great job, loved his passon.

  8. Coming from a checkers fan – yall played a hell of a series. yall deserve that win more than we did for sure. Great job boys and can't wait to see your organization grow.

  9. Guess what, we have 2 Canadian -based minor league champions for the 2025 season, the Calder Cup Champions, AHL Abbotsford Canucks and the Kelly Cup Champions, ECHL Trois Riviere Lions!
