went out of the NBA kevin Durant who we knew was going to be on the move soon officially dealt to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Dylan Brooks the 2025 number 10 overall pick for the Houston Rockets and of course Mr jaylen Greed woo we’ve had to deal with a conversation for quite some time in the NBA world and a part of the Detroit Pistons community and I think now I mean we really could have closed this conversation a while ago but now the conversation is done there’s no more debate that should be had between Kate Cunningham and Jaylen Green the only reason they had comparisons before is because they were both playing basketball and within the same draft class at this point now four years into their career there is no more debate to be had between these two guys i’m sorry the NBA media did a really good job of trying to push the number one versus number two debate in terms of the draft picks that they were but if you were actually paying attention if you were actually studying what we saw this was never a real comparison this was never a real debate there was some legs to it because apparently the Pistons and Troy Weaver were interested in Jaylen Green because of an amazing workout that he had but it was not enough for the Pistons to actually draft him ahead of Kate Cunningham despite all the campaigning he was doing about wanting to live in Detroit and wanted to be a part of the Pistons rebuild and thinking that he was the number one player of his draft class none of that mattered because the Pistons made the right pick of drafting a MVP caliber player in K Cunningham and we’ve seen it up to this point in four seasons i don’t think there’s anything else that needs to be said we could have closed this conversation after their first summer league game when Kade outplayed him and put him on skates and crossing him over with a step back triple in summer league we could have left it there we could have left it there after Kade just shown to be a just better well-rounded player in terms of a playmaker defender scorer which we’re going to talk about a little bit further rebounder leader like what what else do you want to talk about any way that you want to try to measure it up outside of maybe who can jump the highest Kate Cunningham clears in every way shape or form i don’t really think it’s a discussion especially considering the accolades that Cade has now put on his resume an allstar player a AllNBA player uh showed up in every single game of the playoffs averaging 259 and eight and really showed that he is worthy of being a franchise player finished seventh in MVP voting if I’m not mistaken had a case to really be second team allNBA kane has cleared this man and he did it a long time ago even before this season but now after this now again this there’s actually been a few players already in the 21 2021 draft that have been traded or moved from their original drafted teams like Josh Giddy but at this point now of the big four of this class was Cade Scotty Barge Evan Mobley and Jaylen Green jaylen being the first one to being traded of all of those guys is not surprising and I think it closes the door on this conversation i personally think so i think Cade has done enough at this point to finally put him in his rearview mirror i don’t think that’s a crazy thing to say we’ve seen enough from Jaylen Green to kind of know who he is at this point now that’s not to say that he can’t approve with a different set of a scenery but based on scenery we’ve seen reports that say the Phoenix Suns may trade him somewhere else so we don’t even know if he’s actually going to be playing with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal in this three shooting guard system that they could potentially have like we don’t know what is going to be of his career at least in this immediate moment we have no idea what the future holds for Jaylen Green at this point but we know what they were saying in the past we know exactly what they were saying in the past that Jaylen Green could be the best scorer in this class and he could maybe lead the league in scoring one day and be a scoring champion and I even thought that was kind of crazy because if you were paying attention to not even just the numbers but the film itself as well Jaylen Green is not a better scoreer than Kay Cuttingham and he never was he wasn’t when Kay was in college he wasn’t when Jaylen Green was in the G-League he was never a better scoreer he may have been a more flashier scorer because he can jump higher he’s you know shifty with his speed and whatnot but in terms of just sheer skill Kane has been better than Jaylen Green in every facet again playmaking is not even a conversation jaylen Green still doesn’t really play great defense even though he’s made some progression in some of those areas he’s not a better rebounder again not a better leader he’s not looked at as like the franchise vocal point face of the Houston Rockets when he was there i don’t really even think they had one to be honest jaylen Greed has not and did not live up to those expectations that the Rockets put on him that’s why they were never able to get past teams like the Golden State Warriors we saw what happened they had some close games in the playoffs and he would give you maybe one game where he would show out but then after putting up maybe a 34 35 point performance he would you know what the bed for three straight games after that jaylen Green has just never shown to be what his expectations were and again that happens in the league i’m not gonna say he’s a bust or he’s a wash or will never become you know what those expectations were but part of those expectations were that he was going to be better than K Cunningham in his rookie season he was the odds on betting favorite to win rookie of the year and that didn’t happen that didn’t happen even with pissing fans and myself were saying “Wait a minute like wait how how is he supposed to be the better guy the more exciting player when Kade is giving you everything that you want as your franchise floor raiser and ceiling razor we can’t sit here and say at this point that Jaylen Green is a floor raiser or a ceiling razor for the Rockets or for whoever else he may be he’s not going to be that for the Suns that’s for damn sure like I don’t know man i I’m just looking at this and I think we can finally put that conversation behind us safely and securely i just don’t think Jayla Green in any way shape or form has showed that he can be an MVP level player cade finished seventh in MVP voting cade to me is the second best point guard in the Eastern Conference he’s a top 10 player he has done he’s surpassed all of his expectations even when media members were putting him as the 67th best player in the NBA besides guys behind guys like Kobe White Alex Caruso Contavius Caldwell Pope just all this nonsense that we’re seeing all this ridiculous underrating and sleeping with Kate Cunningham that we had to see and we had to go through but Cade has done a good job of keeping his head down staying quiet being pretty political and really just letting the work show for itself and I think it’s pretty common sense at this point now kate has put up a careerhigh in shooting in scoring in playmaking rebounding he’s shown to be a steady defender in each year of his career and we are looking at even the holes of his game like if it’s turnovers sure but the turnovers don’t really to me negate or knock him down as one of the elite level playmakers or passers in the NBA you can look at the efficiency of Jaylen Green and say you know what that does kind of change the argument of you being the elite level scorer that we thought you were going to be because so many people look and pile so much on efficiency now and I think that can kind of be overblown like like Allen Iverson wasn’t always the most you know efficient score kobe wasn’t always the most efficient score but they showed up when they were needed most and Jaylen Green has not done that he has not done that for the Houston Rockets based on his game there’s a lot of areas that haven’t evolved like even when you look at them as a scoreer like again Cade has had the ability to shoot from mid-range at an elite level he’s shown streaks of being a decent or a threatening three-point shooter kade is a 67 230 pound point guard who can post up and score with his right or his left hand um he’s way more athletic than people give him credit for like I think he is pretty explosive as an athlete in his own right and again even if you think Jaylen Green is more explosive it’s still not a hindrance to the game of K cunningham because even when he is contested by defenders he’s able to still knock down shots we saw it in the postseason we’ve seen it in the regular season he’s garnered more doubles and triple teams than any other star in the NBA because he doesn’t have another star next to him can you say the same about Jaylen Green absolutely not alpron Shenon is a star next to him amen Thompson is ascending into star level fred Van Vleet maybe not be a star but he was a championship level player for the Toronto Raptors that helped them bring a ring to Toronto like that’s those are just facts man i’m sorry i don’t look at anything that Jaylen Green has done and think that he has lived up to the expectations that we had to hear for the longest time before the draft and after the draft but now at this point now that this trade is on this conversation is done piston fans don’t argue with no more Rockets fans don’t argue with nobody else on Twitter about these conversations this combo is done it’s like arguing Kendrick and Drake some things are just common sense that we can look at and say you know what the clear-cut obvious guy is in front of us and it’s very clear that Jaylen Green does not have his hand raised in this conversation the Jaylen Green K Cuttingham debates are done no more we’re not doing this any further it is now safe to close that book and move forward to bigger and better things as K Cunningham and Detroit Pistons supporters but talk to me in the comments section i would
