Our last season with Jrue we had the #1 seed and unfortunately Giannis got hurt in game 1 of the Miami series. Miami went on to win the East and go to the NBA Finals. With a healthy Giannis we probably go back to the Finals. It left a sour taste in my mouth, what could have been? Jrue with Giannis works so well. The reason being Giannis has somebody that can defend so he doesn't have to do all the work and can concentrate on offense more. Our team hasn't been the same since Jrue left because we can't defend. The East is wide open next year with the Celtics and Pacers having star players out. Let's not waste an opportunity and let's RUN IT BACK ONE FINAL TIME WITH JRUE AND A HEALTHY GIANNIS! We need a PG anyways since Dame is out. Gary Trent as a SG can provide the offense and if we can find a good offensive SF we will be golden. I will always love Jrue for that great steal in game 5 against the Suns and his alley pop to Giannis, DEFENSE wins Championships!

Dame goes back home and Jrue comes back home. I love Dame but we need Jrue’s defense back.
The only way this happens is if Portland wants Dame back. They might. This is a young team in need of leadership. It would not hurt them to tank this year, as the west is insane. If Jrue doesn’t want to play there, we could give them Dame for Williams and Jrue. It would be crazy, but it would work.

I love the hell out of Jrue but he showed signs of slowing down last season with the Celtics as the season went on – probs just fatigue, but it’s hard to justify trading Khris with the purpose of clearing out cap room and trying to reload on slightly younger talent only to bring in Jrue who’s gonna earn $37 million when he’s 37 imo

I don’t think this would be a smart move tbh. I love jrue but he’s 35 and his contract doesn’t expire till 2028. He also has regressed a lot as a scorer and Mildly defensively. Asking him to go back to being the 2nd option has disaster written all over it. Then who are you trading to even match salaries.
Once again I love Jrue but we should be trying to build something more sustainable and not getting guys well above 30 who have slowed down a bit.
Did any of you watch Jrue last season? Genuinely curious. He’s nowhere near the same player he was offensively on the Bucks anymore, there’s a reason he was relegated to the 6th option with the rise of Pritchard. His defense was still quality but he’s showing signs of age on that end as well.
A lot of fans talk about the Bucks needing to get younger and add athleticism, so the solution is to chase the remaining 3yrs/120M on 35yo Jrue’s contract for nostalgia points? Are you serious?
