so could the Dallas Stars be trading away Jason Robertson to the New York Rangers this 2025 NHL off season Well here on the screen are a couple snippets of an article from NHLtrade Rumors the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this uh but this says the New York Rangers appear to appear far from done this off season as they are looking to make some bigger changes for missing the uh NHL playoffs this is a team that can absolutely be a Stanley Cup contender once again even if they do uh even if they don’t do too much but it has been reported that the Rangers have called the Dallas Stars about Jason Robertson and talked with the Colorado Avalanche regarding Martin Nas the Stars are in some trouble with five with $50,000 in cap space with an 18 player roster after Matthew Shane was just resigned uh Robertson’s name has come up in trade rumors to clear some cap space as he has $7.75 million as a capit he’ll beat his 25 years old and has put up at least 79 points in four consecutive seasons the Stars would like I would like to avoid trading him if they can but if the other players they would need to move to free up cap space aren’t as easy to ship off so my immediate thoughts here so first and foremost this article was written a little bit before uh the recent moves the Stars have made so Mason Marshman was dished to the Seattle Kraken for a third and a fourth they resigned you know Matthew Shane as alluded to in this they also resigned Niels Linquist and uh this team has some cap space at their disposal if they wanted to bring back someone like Jamie Ben Dadov etc but there’s also been some huge reports of late could Mitch Mner be going to the Dallas Stars And if that’s the case how are they going to afford this Well the only possible way to make this work uh would be to trade away Jason Robertson get rid of his cap use that cap space to sign Mitch Mner and hopefully get back some good younger assets or some or some draft capital in return now from the Rangers perspective could they offer that Yeah they very well could uh this is a team that has got rid gotten rid of the contracts of uh you know uh Jacob Trouba as well as Chris Crowder both to the Anaheim Ducks so this team has a little bit more flexibility to add a top six star player to the mix and Jason Robertson would be that guy kind of similar to Chris Krider where he’s a larger body not the most physical a physically dominating presence uh but a player that can score at a very high pace uh Jason Robertson has alluded to has had 79 points for at least four straight seasons and he could very well be a point per game plus guy in New York next year playing alongside a playmaker like our Tammy Paneran for example so I think if he were to go to this Rangers group you put him on the left side he could definitely be a 4050 plus goal guy next year i fully do believe that only the only question mark would be if Dallas does this what are they doing with that cap space Are they going to sign it on a Mitch Martner If that’s the scenario then I kind of like it but if they don’t and they kind of bring back Dinoff Jamie Ben etc is this the best use of an asset like Jason Robertson In my opinion probably not so what do you guys think a Jason Robertson New York Rangers trade looks like if it were to happen Leave your thoughts down below thanks again for watching and I’ll see you in the next one
