just about set to go now our starter in this one Robbie Ray and Singi we were talking earlier about how he’s doing a great job navigating through tough spots i’ve just been so impressed with when it seems like there’s more pressure he’s more calm and settles in he’s done an incredible job with runners in scoring position most guys they get a little tight they start to aim the baseball but for some reason he gets looser the ball comes out of his hand with more life and he’s able to wiggle off the hook of the tough situations and get his team back in the dugout the 01 just missed [Music] lifted in the air down the left side and it stays fair [Music] well I’m not saying that play was easy but it was harder than it needed to be thanks to the bad jump those small moments can be costly here’s the third baseman Jesus Sanchez step off throw to first and he’s back in easily on the ground right side to first but it pulls him off the bag a potential double play ball hit to first is probably the toughest one to execute cleanly that first baseman he’s got a very tough throwing lane to deal with because of the runner headed to second base and a lot of times guys try to throw over or around the runner which can really mess up a throw like that still definitely an error though here’s the shortstop at the play otto Lopez with a short stop takes the ball edwards over at second sanchez out at first with nobody out swings through the fast ball up in the zone just threw that fast ball by him elevated and if you’re not looking up in that location very difficult to catch up to especially with that velocity and that is cut on and miss and it’s one and two talk about tying a guy up that was ugly in the dirt but kept close nothing happening on the bases though no outs runners at first and second now this is in the air down the line and that will drop foul way high two strikes Eric Wagaban in the on deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here and that’ll load the bases well a breaking ball in that 3-2 count kind of tells you that that’s the pitch he has the most confidence in right now just couldn’t find the strike zone so bases all loaded up wagaman now at the plate that one’s in there 0 and one bases juiced no outs maybe a strike out and you need a ball perhaps on the ground for a double play or get yourself a popup something but you got to make some pitches but if he can battle and get through this he can earn some points one ball squirts away a little bit and an excellent job keeping it right there in the dirt but no advance from the runners face is juiced no outs not close with that one three and two now that’s foul off to the right side keeps the AB going fouled off again and it remains three and two [Music] he fouls it off will do it again in the air fairly deep to right field brings it in runners tagging from second and third and they strike first as they take a one- nothing lead in that situation you’re looking to get something up in the zone that you can put in the air worst case scenario a sacrifice fly to drive in that runner from third and at the plate for Miami Kyle Sters definitely scuffling at the dish lately barely hitting over the Mendoza line this month that one clips the outside corner strike one at this point the clean inning is over got to settle in focus on the hitter and get out of it with minimal damage lefty out of the stretch runners at first and third that’s too low and the count is one and one could use a ground ball here something in the infield runner at first base get two get out of this that one the other way he’s got it and there’s two away and time now for the Marlins lineup this is a good offense Chris you’re going to get quality at bats and balls put in play consistently with this group and it doesn’t really matter who they’re facing on the mound they have the ability to go out and compete and win ball games um if it’s an all-star or Sai Young award winner to just a rookie up in the big leagues so when you have that you have a chance to win every night if I was a pitcher on this team I’d feel pretty good about taking the mound for him fouled off down the right side runners on first and third two away next offering is fouled back [Music] two on two outs off the mark there going to count one and two good slider down and in can be so hard to get on plane with you’re better off taking that pitch and misses inside laboring here about to throw his 30th pitch of the inning still two and two after the foul ball that’s the third and that chance handled they get the force they limit the damage here two men left stranded but they do push across one bottom half of inning number one coming up it’s the Marlins one and the Giants nothing back here got good enough stuff to overcome and get it done on the road as well as at home so we’ll see what he’s able to do in this one mike Yremsky leading things off and takes a strike come on Mike downing ball here rolls foul next one misses and it’s one and two recognize that change up right out of the hand just spit on it cut on and miss struck him out and one out now DeS the babyfaced assassin there’s a strike yeah and here’s a fun stat on Dvers he’s at his best when he’s hitting homers and doubles and by the time he was 26 years old Dvers already had over 150 home runs and more than 200 doubles he’s just the 15th player in baseball history with those kinds of numbers at that age takes low for ball one one ball two strikes to count breaking ball misses down and away one out base is empty line drive and this might be trouble around first and hustling for second and that’s a two bagger he was all over that one when you connect and it jumps off your bat like that you’re thinking double at the very least put a great swing on it and man he wasn’t fooled at all here’s Elliot Ramos at 96 that pitch is in for a strike swing and a ground ball base hit right field stop sign goes up at third runners at the corners with one out not much to this one other than just a willingness to go the other way and put the ball in play that’s a team at bat right there nice job of staying back and letting the ball get deep and now it’s Wilmer Flores in the dirt ramos up to second runner at third hold so both runners are now in scoring position got to take advantage of this opportunity now because of the wild pitch they’ve got two runners in scoring position good time for the hitter to lock in put the ball and play hard some more second and third here one away that one finds the zone and now it’s even one and one that’s inside in the air right field pretty well struck way back there and caught on the warning track both runners tagging actually he doesn’t go on the ball to the warning track cuz he holds it two away surprising so two down now and here is Jung Hu Lee it’s been a tough stretch for him at the plate under the Mendoza line so far this month that misses the zone ball one a little bit low he doubled up on the off speed there you talk about the power fast ball but he’s working a little differently here swing and a ball popped in the air and that lands in no man’s land a foul ball two balls two strikes to count with two outs two strikes [Music] good eye right there really good take especially with two strikes willie Adamus in the on deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here slice the other way that’s a base hit runner from third comes across it’s an RBI single it’s 2-1 picks himself up an RBI anytime you rip a long drive the other way you feel really good about what you did at the plate you trusted your hands you let the ball travel and you took the barrel straight to it that’s great work right there two outs runner at first willie Adamis the next Giant to hit there’s the strike one’s the count lee off of first with two away that’s to third they take the force out and that is the inning but two runs for him and they jump ahead we head to the second from San Francisco it’s the Giants two and the Marlins one new inning getting started now here is Liam Hicks well after scoring runs this is where you’re looking for that shut down inning get that hot team back in there to swing the bats swing and a foul back and that’s out of play and a pinch swing and a tapper that rolls foul foul ball left side he’ll see another a little bit high and the count is one and two pretty standard high 02 fast ball right there if you’re smart you’ll look for something down in the zone but not too far don’t want to chase that breaking ball in the dirt to third Schmidt fires across the diamond one up one down you got to be kidding me did you see that throw not really Boo i mean it happened in the blink of an eye it seemed but thankfully Statcast is here to help us out i mean you don’t see many throws across the infield that get up into the 90s so he really reached back for that one and he had to to get the out nick Forz getting ready to hit in there for strike one all in one misses the zone and he gets him to chase well he was really tardy on that fast ball great job of setting him up by throwing the curve ball add some velocity to it on the next pitch can’t catch up and now one and two think he wanted that call in the upper part of the zone but just didn’t get it now he’s just trying to get a better feel for how much it missed so he can adjust his sights just a little bit the one two and a pop off right side foul territory flores makes the grab and there’s two gone boy that was a hanging breaking ball right there i think he tried to do a little bit too much sometimes those eyes can get really big i think his swing broke down as well and that’s what caused him to pop it up javier Senoha in the box now no balls in a strike two outs base is empty out of the ground to third he gets there with the slide nicely done to the out and the Marlins down quietly and our score remains 2-1 back here at Oracle Park now the third baseman Casey Schmid Alcantara back to work and that drops in for a strike all one’s the count and that one is inside carl Dixon working the plate in this one you know we often hear and talk about umpires being a pitcher umpire but Boo Dixon maybe a little bit more hitter friendly than most he’s kind of tight on the corners so we’ll see if that comes into play at all in this one outside low and that’s ball two [Music] that one missing inside up the middle whips it to first and quickly one away in the second batting eight catcher Patrick Bailey here’s the catcher Patrick Bailey good defender he’s been inconsistent offensively and there’s a strike good heater at 98 looks like he’s sacrificed to pitch right down the middle for tracking and timing some good hitters will do that [Music] one down base is empty ground ball left side and it stays fair still able to come through behind in the count right there just a simple ground ball the other way that had eyes on it man sometimes that’s all you need to do just let the ball travel put the ball in play and just hope it finds a hole and here is Tyler Fitzgerald first pitch misses man at first one away next offering is in for a strike well at that velocity if that’s all you’re seeing 88 you can handle that all day long that’s what you get in batting practice but off the velocity of the fast ball that is a very tough pitch to adjust to one ball two strikes this one in the dirt got him looking out number two clearly looking out over the plate on that outer third and that pitch finished right down the middle just a little bit in and he couldn’t pull the trigger yensky stands in with two away as he takes a ball that one off the bad part of the bat just a lazy fly ball makes the grab and that’ll do it one left for San Francisco as they’re unable to add to their 2-1 lead xavier Edwards digs in now he’s one for one lent off the game with a single bunch attempt but that goes foul fouled off he was late ah that hit him he’s got and the leadoff man is aboard to start the inning now Jesus Sanchez 0 for one he hit into a fieldielder’s choice his first time in the air left field down the line but it’s just fouled tying run is at first we’re here in the top half of inning number three and that’s way high one and one oh he’s really working him away this at bat sometimes take a little bit off velocity try to get a rollover something on the ground stay away from that big hole on the right side of the infield the kick and the pitch runner goes swing and a miss safe at second and that was not close and the tying run is now in scoring position that missed by a lot it’s two and two the guy at the plate could recognize Slider out of the hand didn’t stay in the tunnel very long in terms of depth and perception he knew right away it was an offspe pitch now all even up swing and a high-fly ball right field yensky sizes this one up he’s got it runner tags and goes to third next to hit Otto Lopez he reached out to walk his first time swang at a highf fly ball well struck ramos on a dead sprint racing back pulls it in on the warning track run attacks from third he’ll score on the sack fly it’s 22 typically not easy to go deep to center field but he almost did right there and got a little help from the wind just not enough eric Wagaban the next to hit drove in a run with a sack fly his first time up and that misses and that is ball one tied up here in the early going and now two and nothing two and0 and another ball that one called just inside I think and on the mound he’s trying to get a little bit of an explanation doesn’t seem to be too bothered by it though but he clearly thought it clipped the corner that’s ball four tried another fast ball but missed the spot one of the things about that two-out walk the base runner over at first base is going to have a very aggressive secondary lead so a ball down the line or into the gap will produce a two out RBI and those are the best that is if you are the offensive side of it stard now takes ball one off the plate next offering is fouled back fought off foul that one missed two balls two strikes and he grounds one to the right side and that one handled on the run sends it over to first in time got him so they scratch across a run and you’re on no hits no errors and a man left we head now to the home half of inning number three we are tied 2-2 and here is Des doubled his first time up des a powerful designated hitter batting second in today’s lineup and now this one’s a rocket to right way back there gone [Music] his second homer of this series and they jump out front it’s 3-2 he only needed one swing to square it up not wasting any time in that at bat boo aggressive and it paid off a good hitter gets pitch recognition early he saw exactly where that was going to be the challenge not get over anxious and come out of your swing he stayed on it and got all of it [Applause] and here is Elliot Ramos turned on but that’s foul down the third baseline just got to delete it you give up that leadoff home run go back to work focus on this next batter [Music] nobody on nobody out with a run in here in the last half of the third there’s a swing and a drive going back onto the track and he makes the catch it’s a good recovery though after giving up the home run not allowing it to stay in the head but going to work at the next hitter and a tough one at that wilmer Flores the next Giant to hit and there’s the strike [Music] and downstairs [Music] right through there got him and he’s registered three Ks in this one frustrating end to the at bat for the hitter and I’m sure that’s going to sit on him for a little while you want to be ready to hit the fast ball sometimes you can overthink things and I think that was the case right there lee in the box with two gone and takes a look at a called strike swing and a miss he was late strike two he finds himself in a tough situation early just got to try to simplify it take a knock the other way if you can and ball one pitches into dirt now two and two and a ground ball to first wagamin he takes it himself to the bag and that’ll do it one scores in the inning coming on this solo home run it’s now a 32 ball game dane Meyers now at the plate he’s 0 for one right through there for a strike you know these Marlins showing great discipline at the plate and patience definitely seems to be the name of their game in this one they’re doing a good job of working the pitch count and they’ve been able to push a couple of runs across to score as well and ring him up says Carl Dixon that’s a strike out well he clearly didn’t recognize that curveball out of the hand and tried to check the swing just went around too far and you’re hoping the umpire maybe missed it and they bail you out liam Hicks getting ready to hit 0 for one so far check swing no appeal whoa recognize that pitch just in time able to keep those hands back the Giants up by a run top half of inning number four backed off the plate that time straighten him up a little bit still relatively early but with a pair of runs already on the board the ripple effect of that high pitch count might set him up to do more damage later in this game there’s the strike fast ball for a strike gets a piece there we’ll do it again little bit low full count now battling here as he fouls it away strike three and that’s two in a row that’s a pretty nasty pitch right there i’d call it a power curveball in the 80s it’s got so much spin on it and you really don’t have a lot of time to sit back and watch what it’s going to do before you have to commit it was a good one for the swinging strikeout for stands in here leaves that one off the inside [Music] next offering is fouled back that one not close and a count two and one ground ball right side it squirts through and they have their first hit since the first inning now the left fielder Javier Senoha first time up he grounded to third in the air center field Lee settles underneath it and that is that so no runs here on a base hit no errors and one left and midway in the fourth it’s the Giants three and the Marlins two so up next Willie Adam [Music] just missed all these Giants doing a great job Boo of just waiting for the right pitch to come their way and I’m seeing very patient at bats out of them it’s not just the three runs they’ve already scored on top of that they forced this starter to throw more pitches than he wanted to at this point of the game the next offering misses and that’s ball two and that pitch count is impactful because if they can keep making him work hard out there it may force the bullpin to get involved a little sooner rather than later hit hard shoot the extra bases now he’ll turn for second and it’s a leadoff double to start the bottom of the fourth well a swing like that can help you come out of the struggle we saw the numbers coming into the ball game but all he’s trying to do at this point is help his team win the batter now Casey Schmidt that one catches the corner for a strike 0 and one [Music] and the one started after it appeal to first did not go next one off the plate inside and it’s two and one signs of activity in the pen for the Marlins jansen Junk up and loosening in the pen quantrol getting cranked up as well two and one now tapped at the plate but it’s a foul ball keeps the atbat going with a foul ball that wasn’t an easy pitch to hit it’s much easier to do damage against mistakes but that’s not what that pitch was spoils that one and it remains two and two [Music] and it’s fouled off they’ll do it again eighth pitch of the at coming up a healthy cut tough pitch at 98 but a really good pass at the ball on the ground out to short so they get the out after a long battle at the plate good sinker low in the zone right there and produced exactly what he was looking for ball on the ground nice ground out and here’s the catcher Patrick Bailey one for one with a single so far let’s go that’s a base hit stop sign goes up at third runners at the corners with one out didn’t take long to get a result for that at bat nice line drive to pull side met it out front but just stayed through it nice enough and ripped it into the outfield [Applause] runners of the corners here one away tyler Fitzgerald the next Giant to hit swing and a miss that one at 99 strike one first and third one down and it’s one and one started to swing held up good spot for the hitter definitely has the advantage in this count with runners on look for him to be aggressive on this next pitch and that one pulled foul you can do it brothers at the corners one away we’re here in the bottom of the fourth you got this foul ball another two- two upcoming [Music] two on one out and it remains two and two caught him looking for the K boo he was shopping at the buckle right there the way that slider made him look that was just nasty back to the leadoff spot of the Giants lineup and now the right fielder Mike Stressky bowl for two in this one that’s off the mark ball one ball one no strike misses just off the outside edge i think that was a strike fast ball is outside a rare three ball count here he’s been throwing strikes all day got to be ready to hit if you’re in the box two on two outs that clips a corner on the ground right side they get the force and that’s the inning giants leave a couple but they still lead it 3-2 so the batting order turns over and now it’s the switch initting second baseman Savior Edwards Ray back to work that catches the top part of the zone that’s strike one you know these Marlins finding ways to get on base but they still need help driving them home they’ve had their chances with runners in scoring position but nobody’s been able to deliver a big hit in those situations one ball two strikes that misses the zone and the count is even two and two and you got to give some credit to the other side as well they’ve been able to get out of a few tough jams but frustration is mounting for this offense no doubt fly ball to right and that’ll fall for a base hit had a good start to the inning he went up there and got it with two strikes i’m not going to leave this in the umpire’s hands i’m going to be aggressive it was in a location where you could get those arms extended that he loves to do so nice job right there coming back in that at bat jesus Sanchez the next up for the Marlins this one chopped on the ground but foul runner on the go that’s in for a strike throw save that’s a stolen base here’s what I think the manager is thinking right now today we’re not driving the ball it’s hard to get extra base hits we’ve got to make something happen to get a runner into scoring position that stolen base excellent call now all it takes is perhaps a single to put a run on the board that one is absolutely belted and it one hops the wall the run comes in from second it’s 33 does a great job of letting that runner steal second base get in the scoring position come through with the base knock you add a run manager out of the dugout and he’s going to make a change that’ll do it for Robbie Ray just never found his groove wasn’t able to settle in new arm coming on back in a moment righty reliever out of the pen Hayden Bird coming on to face a righty here and he’s been fantastic against him this year his numbers in those matchups are very good go ahead run on base lopez digs in now swinging a foul out of play runner in scoring position nobody out and we’re in the top of the fifth and that one fouled off blind drive base hit stop sign goes up at third runners at the corners nobody out really nice job with two strike hitting in that at bat they got that front foot down and pitch recognition was on point pretty impressive for an 02 count here’s the cleanup hitter for Miami Eric Wagaban we just might be talking about this at bat in our postgame rap he’s proven he can drive in runs in these spots he swings and misses at the first pitch 0 and one comes up empty that’s strike two well in this situation with a runner on first less than two outs some say “Hey get the ground ball double play with two strikes.” Some people say get the strike out i think you just execute your pitch make the best pitch you possibly can and let the result be whatever it’s going to be runners on the corners no outs fights that one away and the count remains 0 and2 [Music] swing and a miss stuck him out no advance good job behind the dish you hear people talk about letting the ball travel so often in terms of a hitting approach and that’s a great example why right there if he’s willing to let that curveball get a little deeper into the zone before he commits he’s way more likely to recognize that it’s making a beline for the dirt on the other side still a nice two- strike pitch though and now Kyle Stout in the first pitch misses for ball one runners are at the corners one away lifted in the air right center field lee sizing this one up he’s got it here comes the runner from third the throw is offline he’s saved four to three they take the lead there you go nice little RBI there it’s a great at bat got the job done and now the center fielder Dane Meyers birdsaw throws to first and he’s back in safely that misses and it’s one and0 just missed chris with that distraction and a speedy guy at first he’s in a favorable hitter’s count well if nothing else I mean this is a great spot for a hitter to be in next offering is in for a strike just missed three balls one strike swinging a ground ball and it finds its way through for a hit and now first and second with two outs now a chance for Liam Hicks first pitch and he just misses two aboard two outs popped up to the left into foul ground and that’s the third out so it’s two runs on four hits no errors and a couple left on home half of the fifth coming up it’s the Marlins four and the Giants three here’s Raphael Des he’s already homered here in this one well after putting up a nice inning on offense got some runs across this is where you look for the starter to go out there have a shutdown inning don’t give that other team any hope uh you just hope that he can get through this inning get the bats back up there while they’re hot well the offense has gotten going and a pitcher wants to go out there have a real quick inning get those guys back into the dugout so those bats can stay hot highf fly ball and that one curling foul down the right side he’s gone off speed he needs to elevate here with two strikes out of the zone to the right side wagaman steps on the bag and that’s the first out in the bottom of the fifth elliot Ramos here’s the left fielder Elliot Ramos that one finds the zone and that’s strike one the Marlins leading by a run last half of inning number five drilled in the air high and deep right field up onto the arcade and gone see you later they must be going crazy in the dugout it’s 44 he absolutely feasts on right-handed pitching and devours that one for a homer and you can see that’s what he expects of himself at bat after at bat he’s that confident well Boo I feel like we’re seeing more of this these days than we ever have before you’ve got high velocities on the mound we’ve got stronger hitters with really good pass to the baseball so much power in this sport opposite field home run i tell you what I feel like I see at least one every day and that was an incredible job to keep that ball fair new pitcher for the Marlins Jansen Jump still pretty early in the ball game so this bullpen has some work ahead of him best case scenario might be if he can come in here and get several quick outs kind of bridge the gap that starter left for him so it’s all tied up thanks to the home run wilmer Flores the next to hit slider right there oh one’s the count tied at four two pretty nasty sliders to get this hitter in an 02 count if you’re up there at the plate you got to look up in the zone and spit on anything that’s down and that’s in the dirt two strikes [Music] in the air on the infield wagaman should have this one brings it in two away now now batting center here’s the center fielder Jung Hu Lee he’s kind of an outlier especially when guys are consciously sacrificing contact to deliver power swinging a highf fly ball out there towards left field senoha pulls it into the inning the Giants are able to tie things up thanks to the solo home run all even now at four a piece now it’s going to be Nick Forez one for two can’t it cleanly still finds a way to get off a throw and they get it the misplay made it a bit messy but they clean things up for the Owl javier and up next for Miami Javier Senoha third song the tall righty he features a four seam fast a curb a change up and he works in a slider [Music] ball one there all tied up and we’re in the top half of the sixth and a foul ball one and two here knocks that one away and we’ll do it again towards first flores he’ll do it himself and a couple of quick outs [Music] xavier Edwards xavier Edwards the next up for the Marlins and that drops in for a strike just missed just missed with that back door breaking ball if he gets a swing and miss or called strike 02 count instead it’s 1-1 look for him to go back to that pitch later in this at bat on the ground to first flores takes it himself marlins set down in order three up three down that time 6782 in the bottom of the sixth and we are tied 4-4 will Damas stands in in for a strike going on doublebarreled action in the bullpen kane Gibson the left-handed reliever appears to be getting loose backer also getting ready pulls that one foul [Music] spoils a two- strike pitch and he’ll see another and that is a good eye on a pitch down low now one and two rips that one to right sters makes the grab one down man that’s one of those at bats where you have to remind yourself it’s about the process he did everything right right there nothing to show for it but in your mind you have to convince yourself that it was a very good at bat schmid the next to hit takes ball one counts one and0 base is empty one away here in the bottom of the six next offering in there for a strike and the count even at one soft contact in the air no throw and the defense comes away with nothing wise to just eat that otherwise you risk throwing it into the dugout runner on at first with one gone and now the catcher comes up to him Patrick Bailey he’s two for two and he’s hit center field lead runner holds at second base first and second with one down having himself a really nice game at the plate got a fast ball middle of the plate jumped all over it absolutely smoked that ball a chance now to take the lead and at this point in the game that could be a deciding run tyler Fitzgerald the next Giant to hit who’s 0 for two with a pair of strikeouts he’s been such a good hitter with runners in scoring position some guys just take it to another level for him right now at the plate it’s like everyone else is in slow motion and he’s in full speed and a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike really good job in this spot to get ahead in the count he’s going to have to continue finish off this hitter on the ground could be two here’s Edwards for one and that’s two poetry in motion there as the second base turns the double play nice throw to first and that’s the way to end the inning spencer Bivvens gets the call from the pen and one thing on him he’s been really good this season at keeping the ball in the park not an easy guy to take deep now the number two hitter Jesus Sanchez strike one swing and a miss and it’s on two okay with the count just misses the mark outside the zone that’s good pitch there really had some run and finished little up and in just on the edge and that’s one of those if you swing at it hit a broken bat up and in look out ground ball up the middle the throw to first and the lead off hitter set down to open the seventh now batting short Lopez otto Lopez the next up for the Marlins tap foul at the plate gets a piece and it stays 0 and two swing and a highf fly ball out towards right center field two away now batt and here’s the first baseman Eric Wagaman misses the zone for a ball that was the sweeper two down to right through there for a strike swinging a miss and a count one and two one ball two strike down two outs and that’s outside and the count is two and two and they’ll do it again two down nobody on here in the top half of inning number seven and that one hit to first he takes it himself to the bag and that’ll do it miami down in order this game’s all tied at four [Music] on the mound now Kade Gibson this softball has been really good against left-handed hitters here comes better ones in the game I’d say spin rate’s very high and it just breaks a tongue and now for the Marlins Kyle Stardielle swing and a miss as he was late movement in the bullpen camlo Dval getting ready to come in for Bob Melvin that clips the corner that pitch started in and ended up on the outside edge just changing planes and very difficult especially for a left-handed hitter to track and down the middle i think he got a little too excited came out of his mechanics and instead of driving that ball somewhere he popped it up unfortunate for him foul ball there trying to send this to extra innings laser could be trouble around first heading for two and it’s a two out double to put the winning run aboard i’m sure that feels pretty good after going hitless in this one so far just a great approach looked like that was exactly what he wanted to do with that pitch and right off the bat he knew he was taking that wide turn at first to head for second now that sets up a huge at bat in this ball game so runner at second two down raphael Des the next Giant to hit went with the sweeper but it misses sp the winning run on second base fought off foul [Music] the 1-1 in the dirt but kept close no movement now a ball in two strikes [Music] this guy’s got good power with one swing he can win it for him battling here as he fouls it away squirts away a little bit and the runner holds winning run and scored in position with two away foul ball another 2-2 upcoming definitely got the hitter conscious of the pitch inside really think the outer half is open fights it off he’ll see another [Music] Elliot Ramos will be next if they can extend the inning and he’s homered already so I’m sure he’d love a chance to do some more damage here 3-2 hard hit to third zips it to first that’s the third out and we’re headed to extras so they can’t come up with the winning run and that means we’ll have to go a little longer here tonight to find a winner and we are tied 44 so they turn to their closer Camo Dval should be a good first matchup for him here he’s been doing a great job against right-handed bats so far this season they’ve had a lot of trouble squaring him up runner in scoring position no outs and at the plate for Miami Otto Lopez and that misses and that’s ball one and that one is in for a strike that missed inside two and one that was absolute gas triple digits on the gun it’s just a different experience as a hitter watching that go by yeah the two-1 hammered but foul [Music] man at second got him and here in the 10th the leadoff man is out well this is no secret that slider is going to be his go-to pitch everyone in the ballpark knows it it’s a massive part of his arsenal and he’ll throw it a lot and in pretty much any count any situation and he’s going to look to punch guys out as well i tell you what the effectiveness of that slider is always a big key for him substitution now at second base and here’s the pinch runner Connor Norby so the go-ahehead run in scoring position and now here is Eric Wagaban that one missed with the go ahead run standing at second here in extra innings and that’s in there for a strike and now it’s even signs of movement in the Giants bullpen ryan Walker getting ready to come in for Bob Melvin tied at four that’s a little bit low [Music] pull three get ready for some action here good RBI guy at the plate this is a big moment in this game kyle Sters the next up for the Marlins and that is out of Hey man on second two down that’s a real nice cutter right there i mean this guy can struggle with the inside pitch at times so I’d say it’s pretty effective if you can continue to line and that’s a base hit here’s the throw and he’s out he’s down and that ends the inning trying to take the lead in the late going can’t blame him but the defense was having none of that close play at the dish the tag applied just in time and we’ll push on with a tie ball game so the Marlins go with a new arm Calvin Foscher and he has some nasty breaking stuff so digging in Elliot Ramos struck out on just three pitches last time and there’s no doubt that they’ll feed off the energy from this crowd right i mean yeah I’d say the intensity level has gone up a few notches for sure there’s a line drive to left field wow ball game another homer and the Giants walk it off in extra innings [Applause] when you get to extra innings it seems like every guy is trying to come up with the big swing to hit the homer and end the ball game well he did it huge swing of the bat and we’re all headed home and this one ends
