what did the 2019 Oakland athletics look like this rotation had a big three of Mike Fiers Brett Anderson and Chris Basset who all had under 3.90 ERAs and a 26-year-old Frankie Monttos who posted a 2.63 ERA in 16 starts at catcher was Josh Fegley who was a pretty bad back stop not giving much value defensively and just a 693 OPS from the plate at first base they had a Gold Glover and Matt Olsen who was the best defensive first baseman and hit 36 homers as well jerick and Profar was brought in to play second base and had a mediocre season hitting for a 7-Eleven OPS playing below average defensively that led to zero war shortstop was Marcus Simeon who finished third in AL MVP voting in 2019 with 33 homers and an 892 OPS matt Chapman was at third base with another gold glove this year with 7.3 war and got an all-star nod as well left was Robbie Gman who was poor at the plate which is why Mark Cana and Chad Pender got time here as well center field was Raone Lauraniano who is an all round beast posting 3.4 four war with 24 homers and 13 stolen bases mark Cana played right having the best year of his career with over a 900 OPS and 26 homers dh was Chris Davis who struggled hitting just 220 and was a below average bat the bullpen had an all-star closer in Liam Hendrickx along with use Marro Patit and Ryan Butcher other notable names were Shawn Maniah Shawn Murphy and Seth Brown make sure to like and follow for more baseball content
