I dont get why teams will do these parades mid week and then be shocked no one shows up
That’s all of Oklahoma lol
People in OKC don’t have much better to do so I’m sure the parade would have been huge if not for the fact they chose to do it while most people have to work.
This footage is from well before the parade started. I was there, there was a lot more people than this video portrays. Don’t get me wrong, it still wasn’t to the level of some other cities, but other cities aren’t as small as OKC. OKC population is 700k with about 1.5 million in the metro area. An estimated 600k showed up for the parade which is a very large number for a city of its size. You can find other photos and videos that show it more accurately than this one
Cubs parade was a weekday and an estimated 5 million people went….
If the bears ever win a Super Bowl the whole city would go.
I’d probably avoid big crowds in that city as well
What’s crazy is okc isn’t even close to the smallest city with an NBA team. Salt lake, Orlando, Cleveland, New Orleans, and Memphis are all (with maybe the exception of Memphis) substantially smaller cities. Hell 2 of them have NFL teams
Lol
I wouldn’t be surprised if OKC had more parking spaces than residents.

That’s just sad.

I will not stand for this [slander](https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunder/comments/1lklsgx/there_was_literally_no_one_at_the_parade/)
There were ~600k for a metro population of 1.2 million. About half the population showed out.
This footage is from the staging area of the parade. The flag was at the official start line.
