Rays vs. Royals Game Highlights (6/26/25) | MLB Highlights

That right there. He don’t look like your average pitcher. He looks like a bodybuilder but he can pitch and he’s going to have to today if they’re going to get a win four 0.81 for the year, 2.95 for his career here at Kauffman Stadium. And for whatever reason, since the Royals traded for him, he has made far more starts on the road than he has here at the cape and that’s a great pitch over the outside edge. Diaz was not ready for that good pitch. He’s gotten Diaz looking at a fastball and lou swinging over a breaking ball and he does strike three called on the outside corner, two called third strikes , a swinging third strike down. Go the rays 1 to 2. You see the numbers on boss so far this year , 7 to 3479 on the er, a 77 punch outs and 15 starts. No score. Bottom of the first. Roy will send up India and India slams it into deep left field and that is off the track and up against the wall and the Royals in the bottom of the first with a runner at second base. That’s exactly what you do be ready when you get in the batter’s box. The Royals want to break this nasty home streak of losing. You got to be ready. No popper into short center and that’s caught by Chandler Simpson one out to Vasin Boz pitches swing and a miss, he struck him out and that time he went with that knuckle curve which has come on two and one swing and a pop up down the right field line to his left is Josh Lowe looks like he’ll get there. And on the side warning track makes the catch, shane. Boz does work around the leadoff. Double, Boz made 13 pitches in the first inning, eight strikes and a miss, that’s the curveball and a good one. A swing and a miss strike three , a couple of strikeouts for Boz in the second inning. The Royals go down 123. Now, jonathan Aronda lined out to right field in the second inning. There’s a high shot back into center field that’s got some carry to it. Waters will play it high off the wall. Aronda is on his way to second base and he will beat the throw in and there standing up Aronda 16th double of the year cutter up in the zone. 89 miles an hour, way too much plate like he’s been doing so much this year, just barrels it up to the pole. Honestly, I’m shocked that ball didn’t get out. And for the first time, the Rays have a man in scoring position. So can they get a two out run? Now, here’s jake Mangum. There’s a liner into right center field. The Rays are going to get on the board. Extra bases for Mangum Aronda scores easily. Mangum around second. He’s gonna dig for three with that great speed safe at third base, a triple for jake Mangum his first triple of the year and we could see how he can run on that 11 nothing Rays. How do you not love this dude in watching him play, he plays with all heart. Josh Lowe who went the other way and singled to left field in the second inning and that was the Rays. Only baserunner curveball rolled in the ground to second off the glove on the back end of India. It trickles into center field. Mangum scores an RBI single for Lowe three straight hits for the Rays. They’re up 20 here in the fourth. It hard enough and in the right spot that it got through the infield that play too by India when it went off his mid, it ensured that Lowe would reach. But even if he with that, he was going into a slide to his right leg and heading out towards the outfield. I don’t know if he would have gotten Josh first. Now, can Shane Boz get the shut down inning against the 234 hitters for Kansas City that’s called strike three at the bottom of the zone. Fastball from Shane Boz. He has five Ks now and two out in the fourth that really zipped in there swing and a Miss got him with a breaking ball. 12 straight retired for shane Boz after a double in the first by jonathan India. There’s the shutdown inning he needed. Here’s gu oh he misplayed that but it’s gonna be over his head. Simmons with a chance to run and Simpson around second right now on his way to third and he will stop there. Chandler Simpson hit the line drive and waters broke in and the ball sailed over his head. Simpson goes all the way to third with his first triple. Well, you see he hit the route. He took about five hard steps in immediately realizing that he was wrong third and is out and it wasn’t even close. That’s a great setup and a plan by the Royals to get the second out a mistake on defense and right away, the firm dog picks him up. Brandon Laue leads off the sixth innings. 32 lifted deep into center field waters on the move and that ball is out of here home run on a 32 pitch home run number 16 for Brandon Lowe to extend his hitting streak to 13 and the Rays now have a three nothing lead. It’s his 16th home run of the year. This pitch catching way too much play and a swing and another deep drive to left by Camaro looking up at the wall and this one is gone home run cro back to back for the rays and they’re pulling away. It’s four to nothing. And he’s just the sixth player in franchise history to get the 20 home runs before the All Star break. And he does it as a 21 year old. How about that, Shane Bars goes back to the hill opening at the bottom of the sixth and that pitch comes in and hits him. They say, oh, they’re gonna say that he offered at that ball. DJ Rur indicating that that’s a strike standing straight up on the rubber and pitches strike three is called a really generous call for the Rays there , but the Rays will gladly take it 18 in a row, retired by shane Boz and we’re done with six off the end of the bat throws Lowe and Aronda handles it and that’s 19 in a row. Here’s the 01 Pasquin Dribbles in left side cro charges from where he was playing at shortstop. He lets it roll. He’s got no chance to do anything. Swinging bunt infield, single Vinny Paquin, the two garcia slices it in a shallow right field that drops for a base hit back to back hits for the Royals and multiple base runners at 1st and 2nd with only one out for Nick Lofton and his pitch to Nick Lofton swinging a ground ball to short on one hop handled by walls to second one on to first double play. And whatever Kyle Snyder says goes 643. It goes and retired are the Royals here in the seventh inning. The inning goes back to the mound one two with two down here it comes from called strike three top of the zone, Shane Boz goes eight shutout innings. He gets his ninth strike out to finish. Paul Vase will take over on the hill to begin the ninth inning left side and, and India is on to begin the bottom of the ninth and Vinny shows bunt, he gets it down and he’s going to beat it out and the Royals have two men on the infield was playing Pasquin as a dead pull hitter and Kevin Cash is out of the dugout and he doesn’t want it to get any more serious than it is right now. Pete Fairbanks gets a call from the Rays bullpen, inheriting two base runners and a great stop by walls out at second and over to first in time. And what a play by Taylor walls to start the game ending, double play sharply hit off the bat of Garcia and Walls got over there , got rid of that ball and the Rays sweep this series.

  1. As a lifelong fan it's harder to support this team now between the idea of moving from a great stadium and how unserious they seem. Wasting the end of Salvy's career and solid pitching staff. Too many guys with AAA level, if you noticed Waters not only make a horrific play in CF, but managed to swing for strike 3 on a pitch that hit his elbow. I mean its really comical, other teams are making fun of stuff like the poor soul forced to wear the Pasquatch suit in 100 deg heat…..that he comes out when Vinnie gets on with a bunt. Struts around up there in scorching heat over a lousy bunt. Sad times

  2. Hitting coach has to go. Royals always hang on to certain members of the staff past their usefulness. The at-bats are being wasted at this pointโ€ฆ

  3. Rays with a sweep against Kansas City. Another shutout game as well. This Rays team has been so fun to watch lately. It gives me a lot of hope for more this season. Gg Royals. We head to Baltimore to face the Orioles. Good Luck Orioles
