Things just took a SCARY twist…

going to break down what these details are and what this means for the future of this roster and we also have some other insight into Chris Jur’s plans heading into what’s going to be an absolutely insane NHL draft weekend we’re going to break it all down in this episode of Rangers Digest but before we do that a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button about 75% of you who watch these videos everything New York Rangers but let’s dive right into it let’s waste no more time we know just the other day Elliot Freriedman said that everyone believes Vladislav Gaov is going to be a New York Ranger other teams believe it the Rangers have been rumored to get Gavricov since you know I can remember at this point i mean this goes back to maybe even when the season was still on at this point the Rangers were playing games he was a name that was rumored to go and reported uh to the New York Rangers and Freriedman did confirm that earlier this week he did say that uh he wonders if the Rangers are interested in moving up in the draft i feel like that’s dried up a lot over the last couple days and the fact that Purka is off the board now and he’s gone to Utah that opens up things uh a lot more I think at this point so the drafting I think is off the table but other moves are going to be coming pretty quickly I think and uh teams expect Gabricov to sign with the Rangers on July 1st but things have taken a pretty scary twist in terms of specifics and Frank Sarah Valley NHL insider has revealed that the Vlad Gavricov contract is probably coming in at 7 years and almost $8 million per year now that’s a little scary cuz we’ve talked about projections before on the channel for Gavricov and I was pretty okay with some of the numbers that people were throwing around but 7 years uh I mean he’s going to be 37 when that contract’s up if he does sign a seven-year contract and $8 million per year I mean you’re going to have almost $20 million locked up on your first pairing and I mean it could be a good thing we’re going to get into why I actually think it’s a move they should make but it’s getting a little bit scary some of these numbers are scaring me a little bit because you have to be very careful and you can see here from NY or Louie um you know he’s a 30-year-old defenseman he’s going to help in the immediate and I think a lot of people do understand that for the most part he’s going to make this team a lot better right now but man the back half of that contract is going to look probably horrific at this point so it’s something that we need to keep in mind and you can see here from Joe the Rangers are collecting 30-year-old players who make $8 million plus like Infinity Stones now granted JT Miller is a fantastic player and I would expect him to get close if not over a 100 points this coming season and he said “I like the idea of Gavricov he would be the best defensive uh partner that Adam Fox has ever had.” I do agree with that but boy oh boy are you paying for it the clauses will really play into this that’s the other thing if he gets a no movement clause and the contract goes till he’s 37 there’s another player you’re going to have a hard time moving off of when it’s time to do so because there’s no way he’s going to you know fulfill the $8 million contract all the way through him being 36 or 37 years old at this point so that’s kind of what they’re looking like in terms of projections i did want to bring this up from Scotia stat projections which we’ve been talking about the last uh and you know showcasing the last couple of videos as well they have him making a projected $7.5 million on this and I do have to say over the last couple days even with JJ Purka Scotia stat projections has been bang on with their projections i do have to give credit where credit is due they’ve been doing some fantastic work with these graphs and at the same time getting them bang on so uh fantastic work there so has them projected at $7.5 million the most likely outcome but obviously Sarah Valley is saying that it could be a little bit more uh they also have them the most likely outcome at a six-year deal at 7.5 sarah Valley is now saying seven years at 8 million so that that’s a significant difference by the way that’s like an extra year and almost uh a million or $500,000 more so it’s going to be very interesting they um you know they also go on to say that he’s probably going to be the best left-handed D to hit the open market let’s not get it twisted either right this things have taken a bit of a shocking twist here right in terms of the money and the fact that I think this is happening like I think Chris J is going to sign this player on July 1st he’s going to be a New York Ranger i do believe that that would be the one thing I would put all my eggs in one basket in terms of you know making a guarantee on this channel in this video right now if they’re going to make a move this weekend it it’s going to be signing Gavricov heading into next week obviously but it’s going to be Gavikov now it does help in the immediate he’s a great defender we’re going to get into some advanced analytics in a second as well he’s a great defender and would immediately make this team so much better and would be able to unlock Adam Fox again i think Fox can have uh some fun playing with Gabriov so I do believe that now the other interesting twist in all of this and I think it’s an it’s an interesting one i don’t think it’s going to affect anything but out of nowhere it sounds like the Kings actually do want to resign Vladislav Gabriov now will it actually get done like I just mentioned I don’t think so i think he’s going to be a New York Ranger i do believe that and I feel like you know where there’s smoke there’s fire once Elliott Friedman mentions something it usually kind of goes down uh or something will come of it in one way or another but uh Ken Holland went on to say that defense is a top priority for them it’s at the top of the to-do list and he said regarding contract talks with Gaov they continue to talk he said that Rob Blake made an initial offer when he was the GM and Holland has pitched two additional offers since he took over hopes to get to the finish line but also possible he moves his rights at the draft if no deal is to come now this is the other interesting twist in all of this there is another rumor and report uh and some uh you know some reports about this that there could be a Keandre Miller for Vladislav Gaver swap at this year’s draft a trade uh for both of their rights which I think would be very interesting and obviously it would come with an extension for Keandre Miller for the LA Kings and it would come with an extension we don’t know exactly what it would look like yet for Vlastov with the New York Rangers that is a very interesting idea because we know that they want to move off Keandre Miller but you’re the whole point of bringing in Gavricov is to replace him so this would work actually quite perfectly for both teams doesn’t really make too much sense of course like obviously for the Rangers you’re going to get Gavricov anyway for free in a couple of days so it doesn’t really make that much sense but could make sense in terms of offloading Keandre Miller you don’t have to worry about it anymore um and there is an avenue I think where you just wait it out with Miller somebody offers sheets him you take the compensation and that way you can flip that for another asset so there’s a lot going on with that that is for sure but either even people from uh other uh you know fan bases you know the Minnesota Wild saying that Gabricov is his top option for left-handed D this summer however that price and term I’d have some pause for sure price of doing business in free agency though and that’s kind of the thing you’re going to overpace one way or another is Gavi even a $7 million defenseman i don’t know that’s up to you know let me know in the comments if if you think he is but you overpay for everyone in free agency and I think Gavricov will make this team much better and Statboy Steven chiming in and saying that 7.5 is a no-brainer option in his opinion gaov would be a huge upgrade and this team hasn’t had a legitimate first pair lefties since Ryan Mcdana was traded seven years ago by the way seven years ago already but uh Gabricov would be Adam Fox’s best D partner in his entire career and vice versa so I don’t know i you know what I have to say i would do it i would do it i think that you signed Gaverov i think it makes you better immediately i know Brett appreciate his opinion as well uh you know has been saying the last couple videos do not do this this is not a good option go for a cheaper option i do it i I would do it i would do it uh and I would get Gavricov and I do want to touch on the advanced analytics as you can see here he’s a great player he’s a great player he makes uh you know certain players around him better as well i think that he would be able to like I mentioned unlock Adam Fox so I would do it he’s a great player you can take a look at all the advanced analytics what he’s projected to make he would stabilize the left side but again like we all know you know those seasons from age probably 35 to 37 will probably get very ugly so it’s going to be uh it’s a cost of doing business it’s going to get very interesting let me know in the comments how you feel about possibly getting Blaslav Gabberov multiple twists now we know what he might make and it’s pretty shocking we know that the Rangers definitely want him there’s a lot of smoke there it’s probably going to happen the Kings are having a hard time you know getting a contract extension done with him and uh I wonder about a Keandre Miller flip doesn’t really make too much sense because you can go out and get more assets for Miller and you can get Gavricov for free anyway not for free you have to spend salary but you don’t have to give up assets but it’s going to get very interesting let me know how you feel in the comments what you think about this entire situation and I think Gabricov is going to be a Ranger on Tuesday but there’s other moves coming that’s for sure i think Purka was the first domino to fall for the rest of the league let me know what you think and if you haven’t yet hit that 1. The only reason this guys got the Rangers in his list is❤ because we are stupid enough to do it. And we will always over pay cause we do it out of desparation.

  2. I actually don’t give a shit anymore about these rumors when it happen then I’ll care either way… personally I’d say shit the bed again this year get all of panerin contract off the books try and get rid of Mika and then pay for all the top free agents next year

  3. No way, too many years! Another bad contract. Have to look elsewhere. Maybe by trade. You guys were wrong on peterka. You cant do anything until zban and panarin contracts are gone. Guess we are stuck with kmiller for another year or until trade deadline.

  4. Drury will do nothing but overpay for this guy. All the talk about retooling this team is crap, all the talk about "he's in on everything" is crap. He watched JJ get traded sitting there with his thumb in his ass, and that's just gonna continue

  5. 2 seasons ago Ryan Lindgren was our top line D guy. Friggin'' warrior status with all of us, right? This past year at 28, his play and compete level diminished so quickly, like so many defensemen can, due to injury, and playing a lot of pounding minutes. Do the NYR really want a guy already in his 30's taking up a large part of your cap for 7 years? This GM makes no sense at times. Gets these basement bargain finds, and really good signings, gets rid of first rounders like I change my underwear, and signs guys for way too much coin, who's best stats are behind them. Can anyone see what the plan is here????

  6. LMAO Drury failed to get Peterka who went to Utah for garbage return. Actually never mind Kesselring is an excellent 2 way big tough Dman. I am ok with skipping on Peterka. He is fairly soft and who knows last season might have been a fluke.

  7. The way things are going, I'm seeing them having the same group of complainers minus Kreider, adding Sullivan, signing Cuylle, keeping Soucy, & signing K'Andre for a year…just being realistic…

  8. Should have fired Drury. He's trying to gather up enough players to make the playoffs next year to protect his job, and he is going to set them back in the long run. This team is not on the cusp of winning the cup, you need a better long term approach.
