lamar Jackson might be the greatest regular season quarterback of all time that’s where it ends but in the end they have a superstar at the quarterback position in Lamar Jackson who has to get it done lamar said he thinks the Ravens are going to approach this season with vengeance jer Alexander is now a Raven a quote that’s never been said and probably will never be said in NFL history is we got too many corners that can cover does Marlon Humphrey like the addition of Gier Alexander to the Ravens secondary yeah but uh yeah I like it uh I like it a lot i like it a lot i like it a lot i like you a lot the Ravens now have three first round picks from the 2018 draft on their roster and it just might be enough to get them over the hump i know what the detractors are about to say too i hear you the Baltimore Ravens are just going to choke in the playoffs again pera I’m not even going to watch this video because you’re wrong and ugly and dumb and have bad breath i can smell it through YouTube you mouth breathing football [ __ ] and to be honest I understand your complaints and your doubt lamar Jackson has not played his best football in the postseason and it’s cost Baltimore chances to advance two years in a row i think looking at football that way though is a it’s a copout and extremely boring and not to mention misguided getting to a Super Bowl for most teams is a process once you have your head coach and uh your QB it’s an art of chipping away all the wrong pieces and adding the missing pieces and after the Ravens sign Jier Alexander paired with the very nice draft and free agency period and an incentive to Derrick Henry from Adam Sandler if he hits 2,000 rushing yards the Ravens are officially my favorite team in the AFC to make it to the Super Bowl i will explain why Jaire is a perfect addition and why Lamar is ready for the Super Bowl and why the Ravens could become the also the greatest tragedy in sports today on that’s good sports i’m Brandon with what Gier Alexander can do for you for an already stacked secondary he plays with swagger he’s going to give you that confidence and he’s going to talk a little trash a stacked secondary that was terrible for 10 weeks last year by the way uh getting Jaier Alexander for 1 year and just 6 million is kind of a cheat code press any button four times then press and hold that button until kickoff for power up defense it’s the kind of devil magic I would have expected the Chiefs to pull off honestly alexander though said that he basically took a haircut with better offers on the table from Carolina and at least one other team because he wanted to reunite with his college teammate Lamar Jackson no offense to any of my college friends but I’m not turning down millions of dollars to hang out with any of you fuckwads again people love to talk about how elite quarterbacks take up such a big portion of the cap but there’s another side to that coin where really good usually aging free agents will sign a bargain deal for a chance to win a ring it happened with Brady Manning Momes and despite never having played in a Super Bowl through his first seven seasons I think Lamar Jackson has that same kind of tractor pull tractor beam sucked me right in players love him unlike those teams who for whatever reason had no interest in trading for him two years ago there’s obviously another reason why Alexander was uh pretty cheap and it has to do with him only playing 14 games over the last two seasons this injury last year I guarantee you 100% had they taken that injury seriously when it happened he would have been back for the stretch down stretch um uh for the stretch of the season at the end still the last two times he played at least 15 games he was a pro bowler and an allp pro plus the guy’s still only 28 years old i think he’s got plenty of juice left if he can stay on the field he’s joining a secondary with two AllPros and Kyle Hamilton and Marlon Humphrey and we saw some really good things last year out of their first round pick at corner Nate Wiggins it will be hard for Gier to replace the Ravens biggest void at corner i am of course referring to Michael Pierce who retired after giving us the greatest 355 lb interception of all time zappy oh big foul touchdown my goodness Michael come back Michael it’s time to go home so we busting out of gas we good the only team that looks dumb right now is the Packers they are currently testing out receiver Bo Melton at corner stop [ __ ] around with this [ __ ] bo Melton is going to play cornerback for the Green Bay Packers because they couldn’t rework Gyier’s deal to be more than $6 million uh that’s actually a pretty good use of a roster that has like 15 wide receivers though the reason Gier’s not in Green Bay next to the injury concerns is because they apparently offered him $4.3 million that could get to six but according to his dad none of it was guaranteed if that’s true the Ravens got him for the same low ball offer by simply guaranteeing the first 4 million and the Ravens have 15 million less in cap space and almost identical amounts of cap space to the Packers in 2026 even on his way out Mark Murphy kept pinching those pennies and I respect it the very simple truth is the Ravens massively improved their secondary jaier can miss four to six to seven games this season and this is still a win for Baltimore the Ravens got cooked by the air attack for the first half of the 2024 season marcus Williams Eddie Jackson and Brandon Stevens were liabilities kyle Hamilton was playing in the slot because Baltimore thought Williams and Jackson could function as safeties that was wrong williams was benched and Jackson was released and the Ravens secondary made it work without him they were a lot better without him they were allowing 294.9 yards per game through the air with Williams and Jackson and 171.5 without that’s over 100 yards per game better that’s insane i’d keep doing the thing where you allow 100 fewer yards per game the Ravens finished the season with the second worst passing defense in terms of yards per game allowed at 244 that’s how bad their first 10 weeks were in the secondary because had their number of 171 been the mean they would have had a top three unit on par with the Eagles this is why I think the Ravens are primed to get to the Super Bowl they fixed their secondary last year by removing a couple of wrong pieces addition by subtraction is what those woke mathematicians call it anyway is math woke now cheeto Bay Auzier was brought in to replace Brandon Stevens as a Brandon I’m personally offended stevens finished the season with a coverage grade of 49.4 which ranked 184th out of 192 qualifiers auzier was a bit better offers more in run support and is overall an upgrade add in Georgia safety Malachi Starks from Winterfell and the Ravens already addressed their biggest holes on defense and now they plug in Gaier who can play ahead of Cheeto Bay assuming good health they have a top five secondary in the league all year marlon Humphrey Jaier Alexander and Cheeto Bay are some of the best corners in terms of sticking to their man and forcing tight window throws and now you have Adafay in a contract year coming off a 10 sack season with the addition of possibly the most talented edge rusher in this draft class and Mike Green and the Ravens finally took a page out of the Chiefs playbook and drafted one of the most insanely talented players in the draft who also has some crazy question marks about his past but bringing in a guy of Green’s talent on the edge that’s a recipe for forcing turnovers the Ravens were the fifth slowest team in the league in terms of the amount of time it took them to get to opposing quarterbacks which puts added pressure on an already struggling group of DBs to cover for longer i think Mike Green starts to make a big impact for the Ravens in the second half of 2025 the Ravens forced just 17 turnovers last season the Super Bowl champs forced 26 i think Baltimore gets closer to that number in 2025 and if you pair that with an offense that had just 11 turnovers last season which was third best in the league Baltimore has more than primed the pump turnover differential is always an indicator of winning games second only to scoring more points than your opponent which usually checks the box for a win look we’re 10 minutes into this video and I haven’t even mentioned the Ravens offense lamar Jackson and Derk Henry are returning and that’s all I really need to say to convince any nonbrain deadad football fan that this team has a chance but I do love the addition of DeAndre Hopkins sure DeHop failed to help the Chiefs win a Super Bowl but that’s only because Hopkins actually has a soul he’s a good man and you have to be devoid of all good a barren vessel for Satan to control to actually help those baby eating demons win a ring that’s right the Chiefs eating babies and nobody wants to put him in prison for it except for me also Hopkins role with the Ravens is less pressing he’s wide receiver number three heading into the season he was brought into Kansas City to make up for the loss of Hollywood Brown and Rayi Rice in their receiving room hopkins joined the Ravens though on just a one-year $5 million deal another steel we saw a little bit of a decline from Hopkins in year 12 somehow with Tennessee two years ago he had over a thousand receiving yards and seven touchdowns last year with Patrick Mahomes in over 10 regular season games he had just 437 yards but that offense is so weird that I have a hard time taking any Chiefs white out stats at face value plus when you downgrade from King Will Levice to Patrick Mahomes there’s going to be a decline in production you are the ingredient to your own success the last time we saw him he did have a touchdown in the Super Bowl but of course that was in the trashiest of garbage time touchdowns rashad Baitman has been a really slow burn as a first round pick for the Ravens and 756 yards is hardly a breakout season but he did have nine touchdowns for Baltimore a year ago plus two more in the playoffs he’s an important part of that offense one of the more underrated players from last season and the Ravens actually run one of those offenses where whatever you get out of your secondary receiver is just the cherry on top adding Hopkins and extending Baitman were two very savvy moves by general manager Eric Dcasta uh we’re going to see if DeHop has one more year or if we get him in montages next to Celtics Shack and Nets KG Z Flowers produced over a,000 yards in the receiving game mark Andrews entire season was overshadowed by his drop and fumble in the playoffs but he caught 11 touchdowns isaiah Likely had six touchdowns how different is the Ravens season if likely’s foot is inbounds week one and Andrews catches that goddamn pass at the goal line the Ravens have depth across the board depth in the secondary now depth at receiver depth at tight end hell even intriguing depth at running back now that Katon Mitchell will start the season healthy adam Sandler has offered Derrick Henry a role in one of his movies if he gets 2,000 rushing yards well Katon Mitchell made a deal where if he has 200 yards total at any point he gets a role in a Fairly Brothers movie enrico Fermy’ roll over in his [ __ ] grave if he heard that stupid [ __ ] i mean he just turned over ass up in your face the last thing I wanted to touch on is that Lamar Jackson has really only had one truly bad playoff game in his last four starts two seasons ago he was terrific against the Texans with four total touchdowns as the Ravens destroyed them 34 to 10 was his performance against Kansas City that stunk he only completed 54% of his throws he was sacked four times turned the ball over twice last season Lamar was perfect against the Steelers two TDs a buck 75 81 rushing yards completing 70% of his lethal throws against the Bills Lamar really only made one really bad play his interception to Taylor Rap was just a dumb throw but he was crucified for being unclutched yet again just like in the Chiefs game Lamar also lost a fumble now Lamar was trying to turn a bad snap into a positive play and had the ball slip out of his hands it’s unfortunate but that [ __ ] happens he was trying to make a play it was not a what the hell is Lamar doing type of play that’s unforgivable like we’ve seen other quarterbacks do in the playoffs 10 from the pocket it’s picked off and it’s Miller brady looking around and he is taken fourman rush fires over the middle and it is picked what got lost in the lazy narrative is Lamar kept the Ravens in that game despite Mark Andrews fumbling late and ultimately not catching the two-point conversion lamar’s touchdown pass to Isaiah likely to get him back in it was pretty insane lamar has yet to have luck fall his way in the playoffs and make no mistake you need a little bit of that patty Mahomes Tom Brady they had their fair share of luck fall their way and that’s not a knock on them all the legends get it lamar was arguably better than Josh Allen in that game and he lost hell the only quarterback who was actually better in the divisional round weekend was Jaden Daniels against the Lions mahomes threw for 177 yards and a single touchdown in an easy win over the Texans because his defense sacked CJ Stout eight times the real question I have is will John Harbaugh get out of his own way the Ravens were undefeated when Derrick Henry had at least 20 carries and these dumb [ __ ] gave King Henry just 16 touches against the Bills lamar is not the problem he has improved every postseason this team simply needs to remember what it does well when they play the Chiefs or the Bills in the 2025 postseason or their window will start to start to close and John Harbaugh will find himself cast in Dumb and Dumber three because I can think of no greater tragedy to the sport of football than the Ravens winning a Super Bowl with Trent Dilford and Joe Flacco at quarterback and not Lamar Jackson that would be like me winning a sports Emmy
