What Happens if the Oilers Dump These Players?

last one for me is on the forward front arvidson and Kane are kind of the two pieces everyone’s looking at going like Edmonton will get rid of them and free up $9 million do you think there is a legitimate market for either player where like the Oilers get back a third or a fourth round pick like Dallas did in the Marchman thing or do you think this is something where teams know Edmonton’s in a bind and they’re going to make the Oilers pay to get out of some money
yeah teams know Edmonton’s up against it but like again like I always say like amongst general managers like there’s no secrets everybody knows who needs what everybody knows who’s who’s up against it you don’t need me barking on your show saying “Hey hey by the way uh the Edmond Torres would like to do something with Victor Arverson and Vander Kane.” You GMs all I’ll all I’ll all understand this um I man I really Kane brings something very specific to your lineup and when he’s healthy man is he ever effective uh as we all saw he kind of went off the rails here with the with the Oilers in specifically in in the Stanley Cup final um but I got like I’ve like I’ve always said you know I it’s an old Peter Debor line from the OHL when he was coaching Kitchener and traded for Steve Downey you know I’d rather have to tame a tiger than paint stripes on a kitty cat like you don’t have to pump up a Vander Kane right like if anything like he’s a guy that needs calming coaches love that right coaches love the idea of like I can I can help mold this player it’s the arrogance of of a coach it’s like there’s the arrogance of a general manager to bring him in in the first place um I thought that our I really liked I know he scored the goal in game one and we all looked at it and went “Hey great shot but Bob’s got to have that.”
Um at the same time too I did like his work along the boards i’ve always liked Arvdson it’s funny too because I always looked at Ardson and said like that guy is a friend to open ice open ice is his like best buddy but I thought he’s really good on the boards too i thought at times like especially against Vegas like him and Pod Coulson uh against Vegas along the boards Pod Coulson hitting everything the move i thought they really effective i thought they were really good i don’t necessarily think that you have to get rid of Victor Arvdson at all here again like I know it’s a sound like a final it’s a big stage and everybody saw it i’m at the point now it’s like it’s like the different stages of grief right like I’m at the point now where it’s like okay don’t overreact are you guys there yet are you at the let’s not overreact here stage
or are you still like firing bodies out the door
i was there during the series to be honest i just think you watch it and it’s like I don’t even feel the same way about this team as I did last season and we talked about with the players and you could see like last season was like pure heartbreak you could kind of feel that they were going to win but watching game five and then watching half of game six until I turned it off you were kind of like this team is just way too good in Florida and I agree like I don’t think they need to overreact i’ve always been someone who’s like pro Steuart Skinner he beat three other goalies along the way along with Skinner sorry and then you ran into Babski like there might have been one goalie in the NHL the Oilers couldn’t beat and unfortunately it was Sergey Babroski what’s up nation citizens if you like that video then you need to be subscribed to the Oilers Nation YouTube podcast live shows exclusive interviews and analysis everything you need from your favorite voices at Oilers Nation and you don’t want to miss any of it so hammer that subscribe button

Fix the System, leave unbroken things alone, stop trying to advocate change for the sake of change.Its obviously not a Player Asset problem thats the easy way out but bullspit… Panthers use the NewAge Hockey System with its Creators online Support the last 2 years, Oilers need to get into the competition and bid on the same System and Supports…money talks.

  3. Agreed with the don’t over react. If I was to pick one thing and one thing only to change on the Oilers, goalie coach, we need a new goalie coach I feel it would help greatly

  4. Man ppl really over think team building. You fix what's broken. If your car's horsepower is lagging you don't put new tires on thinking it's going to help. We needed another sniper in playoffs. With Hyman out. So they were on the right track before playoffs looking at Rantenan. You need another sniper and a goalie that's it. And the cup is yours.

  5. Kane is a gambling addict, why did he not just disappear during the finals but took the most noob penalties that could be argued sank the oilers? 🤔
    Jeff Marcel sucks it's like eating crackers he adds no nutritional benefit to listen to.

  6. Evander Kane, is well beyond the stage of being "tamed", or "moulded". Guy is going on 34 years old. He is, who he is, and who he is, is a liability.

    The penalties that guy took, sucked the life out of the team in the finals, when they needed every breath they could get.

    I'd sooner live with Arvidsson, than Kane. Get rid of him. Don't be the Leafs and think, "Oh, this year will be different."

    Preferrably, I'd get rid of both, but if Edmonton had to keep one, I would keep Arvidsson.
