I hate ads on the field in general but I’ve noticed a new twist that drives me crazy. During away games, like today, there are often ads placed in chalk or something similar on the back of the mound. FSMW is digitally masking those ads so it can add its own mound ad digitally. Except the colors don’t match and the masked area flickers and distracts from the broadcast. Hate it.

  1. If they had their way, the actual game would be tucked into a tiny corner of the TV and the main feature would be ads

  2. Yup and on streaming the ball sometimes flashes or looks square passing through all the bullshit. I hardly watch anymore every stadium has some degree of it and it all sucks. Weirdly my baseball season is mostly highlights and podcasts. Just a few years ago I was watching at least half the games either live or after.

Now I watch innings here and there

  3. Well, Ricola (on the sign) is there to treat the relief pitcher’s sore throat. It’s always something … but they get paid enough to suffer through it anyway.

  4. Reminds me of when ESPN used to do that with the ads behind home plate. It was BLATANTLY obvious they were being superimposed on the actual backstop ads. I HATED it.

  5. Progressive has to be the worse stadium in MLB for ads. It’s a bit ridiculous
