Nationals vs. Angels Game Highlights (6/28/25) | MLB Highlights

It is a beautiful night for baseball here in Southern California. It’s game two of a three game series on this Christmas weekend in June at the big A the Los Angeles Angels against the Washington Nationals as Kyle Hendricks leads the Angels onto the field tonight. He’s 3 to 0 in the month of June. He’s thrown the ball, well, throw the ball well, all season long here at the big three and three mark is barely over four Abrams out in front, lifts the fly ball to right center field. Wade has some steps before the warning track and makes the catch for the first out of the game. Here’s the Nationals left fielder, James Wood facing Hendricks out to center hooking into right center and it will drop James Wood in an 02 count. Finds a way to reach base. Nathaniel Lowe will be the next hitter. Lowe, the cleanup man. He had a three hit night last night low, a ground ball right side that’s passed Moore will stop at second and another two strike knock for the Nets wood and now Lowe to put two on for Josh Bell next pitch and this is lifted in the air on the left side of the infield, back on the outfield grass making the catch on that one is he? And he had to kind of lunge a little bit to his left at the last moment to make the grab. But the inning is over 20 seven year old right hitter Michael Soroka, the native of Calgary Alberta Canada is on the mound for the nationals to the nationals threatened but left two men aboard at the top of the first Ska’s 11th start. Three and five record redo will lead off and slap on to left field. James Wood coming in and a shoot top grab for James great play by James Wood and James Wood coming in in those long stride and a long reach down out in front of him to make an outstanding play. He was stumbling and almost falling but stayed on his feet. We often see wood attempt to dive. He was almost caught in between to dive or stay on his feet. Fortunately has a very long reach so he can reach down and extend a little bit to take a hit away from red two up two down. That’s the first ground ball out for Hendrix. Here’s Riley Adams, the catcher for the nationals, the backup catcher Ruiz not going to see him. He has a concussion right now. It was the pitch and Adams lines it up the middle. It’s in the center field, a base hit fastball to the inside part of the plate and he lines it just to the left of second and on through the net have their third two out single for Riley Adams. Here’s the pitch and that’s right down the heart of the plate. Got him looking and that’s how the inning will end for strikeout tonight for Kyle Hendrix Soroka start of the day. Third of the national league in time for fifth of the majors and hit batsman. That’s now the ninth batter he’s hit in the sixth right handed hitter and he does like to pitch to the righties. So here’s Joe Adell first base runner for the Angels who lines it over Abrams in the left center field. He hits a lot of things really hard. He did last night with a home run and a rocket up the middle. The only hope there was that he had hit it so hard. Abrams couldn’t time it. That’s exactly what happened. Have something brewing. Adell keeps that hitting streak going a 10 gamer. Now, runners at the corners for , oh happy a bouncing ball will bring the run home but also give the nationals the two outs that they were seeking. So it’s 10 Angels but no RB I for oh, so the halos on the board, it’s one nothing. Cal Hendrix takes the mound here in the third inning with the top of the order to up for Washington comes back for strike three over the inside corner. That’s that Greg Maddox like two seamer at the hip brings it in the inside corner quick quiet inning, only eight pitches thrown by Kyle Hendricks. Now is Kevin Newman. Newman started at shortstop last night. Zack Meow has been troubled by a sore shoulder injured on a stolen base attempt in the Red Sox Series. That’s filthy on the curveball. Kevin Newman almost ended up in the Angels dugout by the time that one was caught by Riley Adams Newman was ducking for cover like the pitch was going to hit him and Soroka snapped off a nasty curveball that is in the zone for strike three. You did not often see that in the big leagues. We’ve completed three here in the big A now approaching the third time through for Hendrix who is one of only five starting pitchers that the Angels have used this season. Abrams first pitch hacking out to left center back is Adele chasing after it looking up. It’s out of here. CJ Abrams in opposite field, bomb 12 on the year for Abrams and we’ve got a 11 ball game. Bang Zoom goes CJ Abrams getting a hold of an elevated fastball to the outside and going with it to left center field, his 28th run batted in and that has tied the game here with two out of the top of the fifth inning. It’s the nationals, one of the Angels one, Hendrick surrenders his fifth home run to a left handed hitter this year and 15th overall. Two out nobody on bottom of the fifth inning. We are all even at one. The batter is christian Moore, the rookie second baseman who struck out swinging his only time up in the third, got him another strikeout of Moore make it five for Soroka through five great innings here in Anaheim. So the Angels nine hole hitter hits just the second Angel hit in the ball game against Soroka and now the top of the order Rengifo grounded right back to it. The second for one on to first. The double play, talk about helping your own cause Michael Soroka shatters a bat and Then starts a 163. Michael Soroka works a scoreless sixth inning, a hit in a double play nicely done six strong innings tonight for the national starting pitcher Ryan Zephyr John gets ready his 35th appearance of the year. Er a 4.45. Here’s the 30 and takes high and that should be ball four. Lyle didn’t want to leave. He will now leave drawing the one out walk. So the nationals, the go ahead run at first here in a 11 game in the seventh and it’s the catcher Riley Adams and takes off down by tailing towards the right field side and Lyle able to hold the bag. Lyle did keep his tippy toe on the bag. So he’s at second base on the count. Now, grandpa up the middle Adams is going to bring Day and Lyle to the plate and the Nats have a lead here in the seventh walk stolen base RB I single and Riley Adams 10th ST of the year. It’s 2 to 1. So the Angels it’s there for, for them to take it. There’s no question and they got to find a way, they’ve been real good winning these close games, especially late in the games here. They got to find a way to get it going. They got the right guy to try to get it going here with mike Trout leading off and Trout lines went to left field. This is deep. What is back tied it? How great is that to see if you Trout a line rocket here 100 6.2. Now, just nine away from 400 for Trout. Mike Trout blasts that one into the Angels bullpen out there and just like that and answer back run and we’re tied at two. Now, Taylor Warnock’s one to the left field corner, that’s extra bases. That was a rocket two. He jumped on that one that was upstairs, a fastball. Maybe. Zack needs to buy a foul to help him out here. He’s allowed a home run and a double to start this inning. The Angels looking for the lead here, Adell does have a base hit tonight. He’s 1 to 2, gives up another line drive. This one a base hit to center ward will be held at third base and the Angels now with the go ahead run 90 ft from home three straight rockets to start this inning and three straight fastballs hit extremely hard. So now the Angels have two outs here in this inning and Moore will be the next batter. Taylor Ward still standing at third base two out. So they need a big two out hit from christian Moore and Moore, the ground ball base hit to left. He scores Taylor Ward and the clutch christian Moore comes to it and the Angels get lead back in this ball game up 3 to 2. Christian Moore. The rookie comes through batter now is Kevin Newman with runners at 1st and 2nd 2 run inning. The Angels can get Moore. He lifts on deep to left. What is going back? He’s at the track in his first home run as an Angel. That is huge right there. A three run shot. Angels have a 62 lead. The nine hole hitter delivers Lus walks Trout to load the bases single for Moore, put the Angels in front three run homer for Newman. Then a aa walk and a walk and the bases are loaded. Angels are up 6 to 25 run inning three and the count here’s the next pitch and that’s nowhere close. He walk in a run another game for the halos picking up some walks. Now, four of them today. 7 to 2 as Ward gets an RB I now , Gustavo Campero getting his first at bat. Campero drills one to right. This one’s headed a long way. Gustavo Campero sends one out said he can hit a little bit some quick hands. Another three home run game for the Halos. Now, 100 24 on second major league home run for Campero. It’s his first left handed. He is a really good hitter and it’s nice to see him put it together in this at bat. Ninth inning here in Anaheim. The Angels will go to the bullpen, the Nationals down to their final out line drive right center Campero got a good job. He’s there, said good night to the nationals. Good win for the Angels scored a lot of runs late. The Angels come away with the victory tonight as they beat the Nationals by the final of 8 to 2.

Great last minute attack, thanks Moore and Newman🌠
Newms’s three-run shot in the most important moment that decided the outcome👏✨
    he did an excellent job🎉
    awesome, Halos😇

  3. The Angels, were also the first major league baseball team formed in California(Los Angeles)since the Dodgers and Giants came from New York, and the A’s were from Philadelphia originally.

  4. The 2 out RBI by Moore is huge! If it was Kingery or Wade, it would have completely halted the momentum with the game tied at 2. The boy has some clutch mojo in him.

  5. Christian Moore has been producing late in the ball game from game tying HRs and game winner against Boston, to a go ahead RBI single for the 3-2 lead! He’s been very clutch since coming up to the Majors 💯 I sense a very better second half from our Angels after All Star break, putting OC on the map again ! 🍊

  6. ついにチームのホームラン数がヤンキースを抜いてア・リーグのトップになった!素晴らしい!

  7. I was joking with my girlfriend to watch this Kevin Newman home run and he homered on the next pitch 😂😂 Fun game to see in person and I loved the fireworks! Go Angels!
