  1. I think the only time Shams has said BREAKING and it was actually true was the Luka trade

  2. Thats a solid deal for Randle. Thought it would be closer to 40m/yr

  3. Rudy Gobert must be such an influential teammate that Randle wants to stay in Minnesota. Shout out to Rudy 4 time DPOY, 8 time All Defense, 3 time All Star, and Future Hall of Famer Gobert

  4. Really good deal for the wolves imo, $33M/yr under this new CBA for a second option is exactly what you want

  5. Did Randle ever get a max deal in his career? Feels like he always signs below the max

  6. 33 AAV is good, considering Jerami Grant signed for 40 AAV years ago lol

  7. This is the exact opposite of how I felt a year ago but yeah, I’d much rather have Randle on this deal than KAT on the deal he’s on. KAT is more talented but the Knicks can’t make any meaningful moves with that contract on the books

  8. He will never get enough credit for pulling the knicks out of the basement in 2021. I’ve rooted for him since then.

  9. So is Minnesota just running it back just minus Alexander-Walker?

Feels like a lot of pressure is on Dillingham to become a starting level guard if they’re going to improve.

  10. Jerami Grant being signed for more years with similar AAV is wild to me

    Great deal for the wolves

  11. For competitive balance reasons, it’s wonderful Hall of Good player salaries are combing back down to earth

  12. So naz + Randle + Jaden + Gobert is roughly equivalent to two maxes? Really good long term for the wolves even if I don’t see huge upside: similar to the mid to late 10s raptors. Good team for several years in position to eventually go all in if an opportunity arises OR if injury luck works out for them.

  13. Really looks more and more like the KAT/Randle trade will continue to be a win-win. This is a great number for the Wolves.

  14. Didn’t love the idea of 40 per year but 33 seems more than solid. Good for the Wolves. Hope Rob can make the leap this year

  15. Randle for 20m/year LESS than Towns? And they were right back to WCF. Honestly genius trade.

  16. Steal for the Twolves. Randle is nowhere near as bad people make him out to be.

  17. Some of y’all really can’t comprehend how little cap space there is out there for the taking. You either get signed to a big contract via bird rights, find an S&T, or you’re taking the MLE at most. S&T’s result in hard caps for contenders, so not only do they have to gut rosters to match salaries, but they can’t really do anything to rectify the issue until the following calendar year. I don’t see a huge market of contenders who’d be willing to give up assets, *and hard cap themselves,* for the privilege of paying a 30 year old Julius Randle 35M+ a year for 3+ years.

This is fair value in this market.

  18. Everyone is talking about Lebron and the Lakers, meanwhile the team that railed them in the playoffs is making great moves and everybody is glossing over it

  19. Underrated part of this deal – Ju and Rudy will both come off the books the same year. Ant will be 27 and just entering his prime and the Wolves will have about 70 million freed up from those 2 guys alone.

  20. This is cool but I still don’t like how the roster isn’t really improved. They are going to be a very expensive team that hasn’t improved on the margins when they are expected to compete for a 1 or 2 seed in the west.

  21. That’s a good deal for Minny. I was expecting 40mil a yr after the run he had in the playoffs.
