Cardinals vs. Guardians Game Highlights (6/29/25) | MLB Highlights
logan Allen been a key for him second and third time through the order to be as effective as he is the first time And Donovan called out by Ryan Wills to start today’s game much to Brendan Donovan’s dismay
Lefty that sinker up and in That’s a tough one A good start for Mason Win and a four pitch walk Logan Allen has averaged four walks per nine innings this year That’s a base hit to left field and again Logan Allen getting behind in the count Contras with a single to left with win advancing to second and the Cardinals have two on with one out No score in the first line drive right at the right fielder Rodriguez tagging his win He’ll try to go to third Throw is cut off Cardinals at the corners but now two down as Aronado lines out to right
You got an bat to do You got pitches to make We’ll see which team wakes up first Uh-oh hammered deep right center Way out of here and Nolan Gorman with a two out majestic three-run blast to right center His seventh of the year Nolan Gorman is wide awake 3 nothing Cardinals This is one of the young men that the Cardinals really wanted to find out something about this season What can Gorman be getting the start left on left here against Allen gets himself a spinning breaking ball and drives this thing deep Good start here for the Redbirds Matthew Liberator 5 and six coming in with an erra of 396 It’s already a career year in almost every category Again the payoff and Ramirez draws the two out walk Cleveland’s got a base runner down three nothing here in the first inning And Carlos Santana Ramirez is running and the pitch line into center A deep by Saji You’re not fooling Jose Ramirez arguably the smartest player in the game Guardians at the corners with two down and the Cardinals still up three zip And the bases will be loaded as he missed upstairs with a fast ball So after two outs nobody on a walk a single a walk And this is why managers have trouble sleeping at night
That’s it That’s what Ali always says This is why he has some gray hair in his beard Tapper to third He’ll get the job done Aronado makes the play unassisted at third Litor works out of the bases loaded jam One down three nothing Cardinals as this is Jonathan Rodriguez hammered to center but on a line and in front of the track is Scott with two down and a one-two count on Austin Edges The head is strike out Matthew Liberator with a much better second inning Route number one with the Cardinals up three to nothing here in the third Is this one zipped into the hole that’s going to be a base hit for Mason Win That’s not good Rolling his ankle here Aras is down Tom That’s going to be a problem
Oh no Arius has been so solid at short and that ball that shot through the gap You could see Ramirez not be able to reach it Good effort by Arius and he is not moving Oh he caught that heel right and then rolled right over the top of it
And it doesn’t matter how good you are or what position you play This is the worst thing you could be looking at for any major league player
Oh you’re absolutely right And a player that Steven Vote and the Guardians can ill afford to lose certainly going to be out of this one Steven Vote saying get going Got to get a replacement in there Here indeed comes the cart And that gives you an indication of the severity or the potential severity of this injury You’re not taking any chances No you hate seeing this You want to make sure that Arius doesn’t put any pressure on that And the air went out of this ballpark No you’re absolutely right And that is so hard for the guys that are still out there Right As you see Schneaman checking in that short stop a utility guy can play anywhere on the field Strike three called Allen gets his fourth So the Cardinals stay on top Three nothing St Louis in the fourth And a borderline strike call that Lane Thomas doesn’t agree with
The Guardians are seven and 15 against left-handed starters coming into this one Maximizing what they have
That’ll be a base hit to right center for Anhill Martinez Just the second Cleveland hit We’re in the fourth with the Cardinals up and they’ve got him picked off Martinez frozen by that move and the rundown will end the inning And it’s been that kind of a day so far for the Cleveland Guardians offensively Matthew Liberator has been outstanding Then Matthew Liberator in a career season pitching a gem here today Rodriguez got a base hit through the hole on the right side That’s Cleveland’s third hit in the game A good stroke to get something going This is a good Matthew Liberator fastball This is 95 inner third as Lator’s payoff is check swing He didn’t go Steven Quan with two ground outs
Now he’s a guy that gets lefties that usually lets the ball get deep Most pitchers don’t come inside on him cuz he’s so quick
His stuff plays and that’s one of the biggest things as a young starter You got to know if your stuff is good it can compete against anybody
This will be an infield fly rule Halfway between the mound and home plate caught by Wilson Contrarus And a big out for Liberator to get Steven Quan for the second out with two men on and David Fry coming to the plate Fry went around Inning is over Big strike out by Matthew Liberator Well this will be another quick inning for Liberator It only took him seven pitches to retire the heart of the order Ramirez Santana Thomas go quietly All Cardinals right now Pedro Pahz has walked and struck out The Georgia native gives up a two strike single to the gap in left center for Pedro PA has hung that slider and the Cardinals have their seventh hit Nolan Gorman’s three-run home run That’s been the ball game Yeah you know what the hitting runs overrated guys Five nothing Cardinals A two-run bomb The fourth for Victor Scott And when you get a home run off Hunter Gatis that’s a big moment Whomever you are how about homers that’s what everybody does Victor Scott II This young man took a job in spring training He was hitting the ball hard Hit five home runs in spring Been working on more of a level stroke But when you get a heater in there that’s up and in And that’s a smooth easy balanced swing Pouring two back in though Going to try to make earn it right here He walked him He may have faced his last batter Backto back walks Two men aboard for Cleveland as Ali Marvel will go to the bullpen But what an incredible performance today by Matthew Liberator trying to get his sixth win of the campaign He’s yet to give up a run as the left-hander Jojo Romero will face Jonathan Rodriguez And a big strike out there
Big swing and a miss there for Jojo Romero in the first out of the inning
And that should end it near second Win steps on the bag And what a job by Jojo Romero to keep the shut out intact Catcher Pedro Pahz one for two a single and a walk Runners take off double steel and nobody will even draw a throw Wow did they have jumps Talking about Fine and Gorman and they stole that off Tim Heron
Well that’s is part of the advanced scouting right This pitch hit high in the air to center This will get a run in as Thomas will make the catch tagging is Fermine Here comes Thomas’s throw to the plate and it bounces to the back stop and belly flopping his way in is Fermine Advancing to third on what will be another error is Gorman and it’s 6 nothing St Louis Garrett Hamson the hitter 0 for three Little flare makes it a 7 nothing ball game as Hamson gets his first RBI in 2025 Boy what a series this is turning out to be for the Cardinals The only team that has never swept Cleveland in a three-game series ever the St Louis Cardinals The Cardinals are one out away from their second shutout this weekend Juan this should do it Another shut out for the Cardinals and they for the first time ever have swept Cleveland Be it the Indians be it the Guardians 7 nothing St Louis with the win today A three hit shutout for the Cardinals

TOO … SA-WEEEEEEEEEEEEP !!!!!!!! Y'all, UNDISPUTED Manager of the Year Oliver Jose Marmol and his St. Louis Cardinals (the GREATEST team in the league) are like THE ROLLING STONES because if you start them up, they'll never stop. The squad will go 124-38, TAKE the NL Central, MAKE the postseason once again and in four/five months (depending on when the games are in October/November), be World Series trophy-winners for an unprecedented TWELFTH time!
Nolan Brian Gorman, HOLY SCHNIKES … In the top of the first inning, the 25-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona, gets the offense rolling by OBLITERATING A BALL to right center field, driving in Masyn Blaze Winn and a teammate.
In the top of the seventh inning, Victor Dwanyne Scott II, the 24-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, DEMOLISHES A BOMB to right field, bringing in Pedro José Pagés!
I had GOOSEBUMPS during the top of the eighth inning. First, Pedro José Pagés, the 26-year-old from Maracay, Venezuela, NOTCHES the crucial sacrifice fly to center field to drive in José Miguel Fermín! Second, Garrett Reese Hampson, the 30-year-old from Reno, Nevada, SMASHES an RBI single to center field to bring in Nolan Brian Gorman.
My people, let's give a STANDING OVATION to Matthew Joseph Liberatore, the 25-year-old from Peoria, Arizona! Gimme FIVE clutch strikeouts in SIX serious innings pitched. HATS OFF Joseph Abel "Jojo" Romero, Riley Chun-Young O'Brien and John Edward King, all part of the best bullpen in the league, for the OUTSTANDING defense!
TIME TO FLY !!!!!!!!!!! #12in25 #STLFLY
Heya peeps! If you wanna see my hubby 🥰 Mitt's comments just go under the "newest" tab.
Mwah! 😍
First
What happened to Noot and Arenado?
Okay let’s not pull the plug on Nolan gormon yet see what would happened if we let him go this is why keep him he’s out out only young slugger if he keeps it up
You can’t tell me he’s still striking out dude has really figured it out and I pray he turns out as a beast for the next 10 years
the fact that the birds never swept CLE ever, is astounding in lo these many years of inter-league play🤔
I miss Jim Edmonds broadcasting games. Chip is getting better but it’s still not the same. It’s bad enough not having Danny Mac anymore 😂
Good game & pretty damn good pitching cant complain
Please don’t let Eric fedde play again he was awful let tink hence play or our other starter pitchers that are young
While he's No. 5 in the rotation order, he's actually been this team's No. 2 starting pitcher. Going in 2026, Sonny Gray/Matthew Liberatore makes for a nice top 1/2 rotation punch.
I still can't decide if this team is for real
Cle hitting is a joke. They make every pitcher look like a cy young winner.
Why didn’t the Cardinals use the Blue Road Hats and Batting Helmets in this series?
Guardians are terrible. Vogt keeps talking absolute non-sense after each loss. He is totally useless as are all baseball managers. They need to blow it up. Bo Naylor needs to be gone. He is a total bust. Trade Clase. He's a lost cause now too. The Yankees broke him. If you can get a haul for Ramirez now is the time to do it. This season is a lost cause. The young pitching staff is not great but good enough to make a playoff run next year if they can add a couple bats.
The Cubs and the Brewers BOTH lost !!!! We are gaining !!! Only 2.5 games out of 1st place
Go Cardinals
Cubs and Brewers lost. Cards now only 2.5 games back. Let's gooo!
Winner winner chicken dinner. Cards are on 🔥.
They’re the Indians.
Heard the vacuum is dead. But THE CARDS go 'Ol Skool and bring out The Broom to clean it up and SWEEEEEP! #CARDINALUP lets goooooo!
St. Louis cardinals are heading to the World Series
A lot of cards batters are not hitting for a good average or for good rbi numbers.
Fedde and Mikolas are mediocre and yet the cards are 47-38 and 2.5 gamaes out of first.
Still a great chance to win the division.
Let's go Cards
Marvelous!!! Go Cards!!!
