The Columbus Blue Jackets Ruined An Oilers Dynasty #nhl #hockey #hockeytiktoks #playoffs

a draft mistake from the Columbus Blue Jackets has not only cost the Edmonton Oilers two Stanley Cups but a potential dynasty heading into the 2016 draft there was a clear top three austin Matthews Patrick Line and Yesi Pulari however with the third overall pick the Columbus Blue Jackets shocked everyone selecting Pierre Luke Dubo over Yassi Pulary now Edmonton didn’t expect Yes Py to be on the board so when he was when the fourth overall pick came around they selected him but if yes wasn’t available who is the player Edmonton was looking to select well that would be twotime Stanley Cup champion Matthew Kachchuck so if Columbus would have drafted Yesessie Pulley Yarvey Matthew Kachchuck likely doesn’t become a Calgary Flame and doesn’t get traded to Florida meaning the Edmonton Oilers would be back-to-back Stanley Cup champions

  1. Not sure hockey works that way, and one player that won cups on a specific team does not absolutely translate to winning cups if he’s on a different team. If one player alone could have this much impact, you would assume McDavid would win more cups than Tkachuk whatever team he is on.
If the Calgary flames never traded Tkachuk, I bet they still would not have won a cup.

Its become more and more clear that the way to win cups, is to have star players be on LTIR, sign other star player at the trade deadline with the cap space “cheat mode”. And magically the injured star player comes back in the playoffs.

Tampa bay, Vegas and Florida have all played this “system” very well.

This plus not have Corey Perry on your team seems to do the trick 😂

  2. Tkachuk played his final playoff in junior with a Broken bone in his foot. The knock on him going into the draft was that he was not a good skater. Maybe he would have gone higher.

  3. The thing is, Matthew has said on record he did not like playing in Canada, and the Calgary trade was more to get him out of Canada. There is no guarantee Florida would have not gotten him if he was an Oiler.
You know what did cost them, Pittsburg blowing two easy games and losing a playoff spot to Florida, allowing them to go on their Cinderella run and put faith back into the core.

  4. Mathew Tkachuk didn’t win 2 Stanley Cups by himself it’s a TEAM effort, something the oilers don’t have! Stop making excuses for Miss David it’s obvious he CANNOT AND WILL NOT win one by himself!

  5. That’s the dumbest comment I’ve ever heard dude, it’s Bob in net that has Florida winning back to back cups , Matt’s a good hockey player but he’s not that good , they play a good team game but it’s there goalie that has them winning!

  6. Indeed, that's some seriously twisted logic.🤣 In other words, if if's and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a fine christmas.🤣 News flash, the Edmonton oilers lost both cup finals because, they are not deep enough and they have horrible goaltending. They should have made the necessary changes after losing the first time. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly expecting a different result. In short, they didn't so they're not.

  7. Oh ya i remember the jets 1.0 had Gretzky in their grasp only to get denied because of the higher ups wanting him to go to Edmonton ya got your dynasty already Edmonton

  8. How was Columbus' choice a "mistake". Pierre-Luc Dubois is still in the NHL, Jesse Pulijujarvi is not. Has anyone considered that maybe Finnish GM Jarmo Kekalainen was privy to something that other GMs were not. Besides, when a Finnish GM passes on a highly touted countryman, shouldn't that be a hint? Edmonton still could have drafted Brady Tkachuk's brother. But didn't Brady's brother Matthew want out of Canada?

  9. Get off this platform right now and never make a video again. I heard the first point you TRIED to make, paused, then went to a new video

  10. That's why when you're in the business of drafting, you draft the guy you came for. The Oilers are the ones who didn't show the respect their scouting deserved.
