yeah thank you I’m really excited I uh it’s unescribable feeling Just uh really really excited Yeah

uh my sister my family and a couple of my teammates came to support me So yeah it’s a lot of fun What do you know about the Vancouver Cups
uh it’s a it’s a great organization You know they’re uh they want to win and that’s that’s what I do So really excited
Do you have any anybody you’re looking forward to playing with on the team
uh Yeah I I feel like just learning from uh Tatcher Demco and uh Kevin Lanken and yeah it’s really exciting
All right Now with your goalending skills what do you hope to bring to the team yeah Um I feel like I’m a just a structure goalie I uh use my athleticism well and uh yeah I’m I’m a winner too So yeah
How important was it for your development to play for the London Knights this year
yeah Oh for sure They’re they’re the best uh at what they do you know they they have so much knowledge and uh they guide you so well So I’m I’m uh just really lucky to be there and you know they uh help me a lot Did you see the benefits of starting off in junior B and then making your way up to London
yeah for sure You know they always had that system with their uh younger guys So you know it works You see so many guys playing junior B their first year and you know it just uh just helps you get your confidence kind of get your reps in and yeah it’s it’s great What did what did Austin Elliot mean to your season being that veteran goalie alongside you
oh he’s uh he’s awesome He’s a great goalie and even better guy Always treated me with respect He was uh he was a great teammate you know and he’s a pro It was great learning from him So uh yeah it was great
What teammates were here today supporting you
uh Jared Woolly and uh Henry Bruce They’re uh they’re with me So yeah really really grateful they came here and yeah it was a lot of fun
Do you think you know getting an opportunity to showcase yourself and and you know be a member of two championship teams in London help build up your profile into this draft
oh yeah for sure I I feel like just the London Knights uh culture They uh they make champions there So it’s uh yeah just essential essential experience for sure At
what point during the season did you start to believe that this could become a reality in here at the NHL uh you know just uh even starting in the summer you know it was uh that was my uh personal goal for this year I really wanted to get drafted it was a dream for me so ever I ever since I kind of started playing hog I was thinking about this so it’s uh it’s great I’m here now so it feels feels good
what does it mean to you to be the first goalie draft out of the O this year
uh it’s it’s pretty special I’m just really really happy and I think I’m grateful uh to the London Knights are organization you know gave me so much opportunity to showcase myself this year And yeah yeah just really thankful
When you were drafted we were doing media with Simon Wing and he he looks over at the screen he goes “My boy just got drafted What does it mean to be able to have this experience with your friend?”
Yeah Oh he’s a he’s a great guy He’s the he’s the he’s a great teammate too He’s a really nice guy and uh really really happy for him going first pick in the second round So yeah really exciting What’s it going to be like to play against him one day
yeah Uh you know he’s a he’s a really skilled really good skater big demon So yeah it’s it’s going to be fun and competing against those guys Really fun So yeah
Have you been out to Vancouver before uh
no No Are you know anything about the area
uh not much but I’m I’m looking forward to learn a lot of new things So yeah
