[Seravalli] Discussions have centered on Bridgeport moving to Hamilton, Ontario next year

Damn that’s disappointing to hear. I’m sure they’ll draw better there, but not like CT fans had much to cheer about. They had pretty good crowds for that playoff run a couple seasons ago with Raty.
This is what 2 decades of negligence in Bridgeport does 🤷♂️
Shameful
I mean they’ll definitely have a better opportunity at drawing in fans but sad to see them not work out in Connecticut. I get people argue for the Coli for the AHL team but I don’t know how much of a draw they’ll have with plenty of other sports options available
As a hockey fan in Connecticut I’m so sad to lose *a* team I can easily see after work (even if they’re bad)
Back to the FPHL I guess
Wow
As an Isles fan this is upsetting, as someone who lives 30 minutes from Hamilton selfishly this rocks
Bring them to Albany.. they were the capital district Islanders back in the day
Can we name them something good like The Hamilton Mondelez Foods? Anything but the Bulldogs unless North Bay moves back to Brampton as the Batallion and Owen Sound becomes the Platters again.
Awesome! I may be the only one excited abt this and that is only b/c I live in Toronto. LOL Hamilton home to a pretty good local brewery too…. Makes a trip over to see a game even more worthwhile 🤣
Well.. well you’re dogshit for decades I guess this is what happens. Bummer to hear though.
Thanks Lou
Should play at the coliseum.
Damn that would suck. I have great memories in that place. My middle school orchestra played the national anthem for one of the games it was cool as fuck being ice level and playing for the fans.
Okay, so the coliseum is being demod. stop it.
secondly, this is a direct result of chris lamoriello running the team into the ground
Sucks for the fans in Connecticut but I am excited for our prospects to have better facilities and a nicer town to live in

I wonder what the renovated arena will look like, but the one time I went there it looked more like the Coliseum than the Coliseum did. Now THAT was a barn lol
This would legit piss me off. Taking the ferry over a couple times a year has been a pretty affordable and enjoyable weekend family thing for me this past decade. It’s always more enjoyable when there are exciting futures there which looks like that’ll be the case very soon. I really hope this doesn’t happen.
Anywhere but the Colosseum💔
I’ll miss brew port. Great spot
damn. my winter rotation was bridgeport, quinnipiac, and yale. maybe this will finally push me to check out the hat tricks in danbury
They just want all of their fans to pick a new team, don’t they?
Wow, living in Toronto as an Islanders fan makes me happy about this. However for some it sucks , sorry.
We’ll gladly take them back in Albany!
good, cause why would we want the minor league affiliate ~1.5/2 hours away when it can be over half a day away…that makes it easy for call ups on short notice…
*stares in las vegas 51s, as mets AAA affiliate*
Sucks for Bridgeport fans. Team was run into the ground the past few years, they had an awful rebrand (Islanders in Connecticut?), and now they’re leaving.
As someone in CT – we love going to Islanders games up here. My kids are going to be devastated
Thanks to @everyone here who never took the hour boat trip…
