did not qualify zack jones or arthur kelly per source kelly is no surprise guys i mean but when it comes to zack jones this is surprising rangers fans including myself are absolutely pissed then the reason rangers fans are upset about this is because we can see the writing on the wall we are no dummies we understand what sleepy drury’s plans are here when it comes to that lefthanded defenseman and looks like he is content moving on from zack jones and also content playing carson susi for whatever reason that might be i said it in a prior video that chris drury is the leader of the carson susi fan club i mean the guy stinks and let’s not forget chris drury moved heaven and earth to get this player let’s move right along guys from brendan azoff rangers radio podcast the handling of zack jones all the while trading assets for subpar defenseman is something i never have and never will understand boy brendan i will never understand that either the rangers traded some valuable assets here for a player that is terrible chris drury traded a third round pick for this player at the trade deadline and i’d be lying to you if i said that i didn’t think that there were you know better production in the works from carson susi i had higher hopes when the rangers traded for this player but chris drury is not interested in moving this player while his value is low and my rebuttal to him would simply be his value is never going to be higher okay we are never going to see a better version of carson susi this is no surprise the guy’s been in the league forever he’s 30 years old you look at the track record there is none this player is not good he is trending downward i have said it here on the channel the rangers need to be in the business of bringing in players on the upy up not downward so that is what carson susi is he is the depreciating asset never really a good asset but he is not getting any better and i just don’t understand what sleepy drury is doing you know paying this guy over $3 million giving up a third round pick i mean what the hell what the damn hell are the rangers doing i mean this is how we got to start free agency i know it doesn’t seem major you know letting zack jones walk but i mean bringing back carson susi yikes and let’s get into his replacement let’s give him a fair trial here right let’s give carson susi a fair trial he played 75 games this past season a mere 13 points big whoop-dedoo a minus 11 and not surprising the rangers were worse when he was on the ice and guys just to put that into perspective 75 games for susi 13 points zack jones had 11 points you know how many games he played 46 29 less games and two less points like i said i like zack jones offensive upside and i truly believe guys that if he got more minutes on the ice and is able to remain healthy he has top four defenseman potential for the new york rangers and not only that i think he’s got second power play unit potential for the new york rangers i mentioned look he doesn’t have an elite shot but i mentioned that offensive potential that he has in comparison to a carson susi or even a albert johansson who we’re going to get into here in just a moment why he is relevant in this conversation i like his offensive upside i like his hockey iq the rangers could use guys with more hockey iq you see a player like keandre miller he’s got all the physical tools and traits that you want but he just can’t put it together when you look at zack jones a bit undized but he plays physical gritty he’s got that offensive upside i like his hockey iq and i like his vision so that’s why i believe with more minutes on the ice and with more health this is a player that’s got potential to be a top four defenseman for the rangers and on that second power play unit i don’t see any future for carson susi here chris drury does for whatever reason and let’s not forget folks let’s not forget this player is not making six figures carson susi is making over $3 million i much rather give that $3 million and zeal it to will because the rangers are in getting into dangerous territory here where they can lose will coulie as well and we know how putrid the rangers have been with developing their homegrown talent alexe lafernier capo kako we can go through it we can go through the whole nine yards but guys braden schneider’s here will coulie’s here zack jones is here homegrown talents guys you’ve been able to develop into solid players and it looks like zack jones is gone looks like will coulie might be gone here in just a few hours and who knows with braden schneider who knows i think the rangers need to keep zack jones not gonna sit here and call him a superstar but if you’re asking me whether if i’d rather have zach jones or carson susie or robert johansson taking zach jones let’s move right along guys we have a bomb here from emily kaplan late last night she does a fantastic job on espn emily is great she believes latislav gabriov is going to the new york rangers to play with adam fox and she has been hearing this for weeks guys i don’t blame gabricov rangers are a big market he understands his agent understands that the rangers are desperate for a left-handed shot defenseman they got the money to make it happen they have a defenseman in adam fox who is elite he’s a righty so gabricov saying to himself “wow i can go to a rangers team that’s solid i can go to a team that’s desperate for my services so i can make bank and i could play with an elite right-handed defenseman so i can see why gabricov wants to be a ranger for the rangers i don’t get it you know not a gabricov away from winning a stanley cup if you’re able to justify that great because if the rangers were able to bring him in and win a stanley cup in a few years i wouldn’t give a damn about the back end of the contract but what i fear is that the rangers are going to be stuck in the middle they’re going to bring in a player like gabricov they’re going to have a bunch of 30-year-olds that are good players but not good enough to get them over the hump and the rangers are just going to kind of be mediocre they’ll make the playoffs but they won’t be a true threat for a stanley cup and they won’t be bad enough to get a top draft pick so that’s what i fear that’s what i really fear for the rangers but like i said in a deal for keandre miller because we know keandre miller won’t be back but it looks like the detroit red wings are looking to trade for him or offer sheet for him and david shapiro from blue seat blogs who does an excellent job has said he expects he said this yesterday he expects that the detroit red wings will trade albert johansson to the rangers for keandre miller and guys i don’t like this move one bit i spoke about susi stats compared to jones let’s talk about albert johansson for a second guys in 61 games he had nine points zack jones had more points in 15 less games that’s all i have to say it’s all i have to say they’re basically the same size they’re both lefties i understand he’s a little bit more physical but guys zack jones if you’re asking me zack jones susi or johansson zack jones is the most appealing by far but i’m curious to hear what you guys have to say what do you guys think please leave your comments down below do you guys prefer zack jones carson susi or albert johansson who we could see traded here today for keandre miller also rumors that the red wings might offer sheet for him instead and if the rangers have a decision between the offer sheet compensation which A major problem is not trading ZABBY.. and getting rid of the rest of the co-conspirators in panarins house including Panera and Adam Fox, I don’t give a shit how many points fox scores he’s useless in front of the net, and teams found that out last season. They were storming the net when he was on the ice and scoring goals. Big deal he gets 60 points a season and he gives up 60 goals when he’s on the ice.
    I told my son he’s on his own this year. I’m not sending him half of the money for season tickets.

  5. Jones had a few chances to impress and never really stood out. Another small, non hitting, poke checking defenseman who turns the puck over and is on the ice for a lot of goals against. Just like most of the Rangers mediocre Defenseman!! Jones has the build and speed of a forward not a Defenseman. Too Small. PS- Drury is a TERRIBLE GM!! Gets fleeced and overpays every time he makes a trade. He's like the clueless GM in your Fantasy League who never makes the playoffs

  7. Zac Jones is too small. He is not him. Fox is also too small and slow. They need to get rid of Zab and all the pussies. They need to get bigger. Look at the Florida Panthers and the Edmonton Oilers. What they have in common they're big and strong. You are not winning in today's NHL without being big and strong.

  8. I'm pissed about Jones, guaranteed we will watch him success elsewhere…as for Soucy, I'm still confused why he never got a chance to play with Borgen, I remember hearing they played together. with that said If this might be our starting D-core, i'm not all that upset:
    Gavrikov – Fox
    Robertson – Schneider
    Soucy – Borgen (Vaaks 7th)

  16. Who do you want them to get?? They can’t trade Soucy because no one wants him they can’t make trades for younger better player because they got no one to give up to get them or what they would give up no one wants.. you just said they have a terrible time developing players but your crying about a 3 rd pick then you want the compensation for miller they suck at drafting unless they traded the picks.. they have to sign the guy from the kings it’s there only option and he’s a big body which they need on d not another small defenseman.

  17. Just shows not everyone is great at being GM on the Rangers organization instead of building from the good players he has he's giving them away for garbage. I say get a list of players that are dead wood and put that list out to other clubs instead of holding on and this is the problem with management is they have no intuition to what they're doing.

  18. He was -13 with Vancouver. +2 with the rangers. So the rangers really weren’t worse with soucy. I swear you guys don’t watch hockey at all. Previous two years soucy was top 4 on back to back teams that went to the second round. Vancouver and NY were both horrible this season. Give him more than 16 games and see what he can do

  22. Okay, most Rangers fans agree that Drury has been awful.

    But can we please stop pretending Zac Jones is some kind of major assest: that the Rangers fumbled and screwed up??!!!

    Hindsight and frustration: makes for selective or poor memory.

    Zac Jones has been getting opportunities with the Rangers ( and down with the WolfPack, since 2020 – 2021.

    Up until half way through the 2023-23 season; Jones, unfortunately, was a complete trainwreck. He was no where close to a NHL defenseman.

    It was Laviolette, his coaching staff and Zac's dedication to relentless hard work: that helped Jones improve his game.

    I have nothing but respect for Jones' work ethic and professionalism. However, we knew since the 2022-23 season there's no way this team could have Jones and Fox, simultaneously, on our D- Core.

    Yes, Drury should have moved him a long time ago. But on the other hand: Jones did benefit from getting his time in Hartford, and all the time he spent up with Rangers.

    Unfortunately, it does not appear that Jones will ever be able to handle the immense physicality and physical battles.

    Maybe he will, one day. I hope so. But I doubt it. That's it, in a nut shell.
