Riker League congrats How does that uh feel having a Pred logo on your chest
Uh it’s unbelievable I think you know it’s just such a great organization and I know it’s a great city I’ve been there and the jersey I think looks pretty sweet too So I’m excited
Did you have an idea it might be Nashville
Uh yeah I did I wasn’t sure of it but um I was really happy to hear my name call It’s pretty special
What do you think of them drafting you not only as an organization but as a as a city as well just going to
Yeah obviously I mean I know them I’ve seen them play Um I think it’s just a electric city Um and yeah I’m really excited to to get going
Have you ever been to Nashville
Yeah I went there on a a vacation a couple years back with my family So seeing all that was pretty special
Looking forward to going back
Um I think just that that area with all the music and those bars I think it’s like super cool place to be So
do you know any guys on the team Uh I do not So it’ be cool getting to know some guys I know they drafted two other guys um today So really excited to get to know everybody
How would you describe your game
Um I’d say I’m a skilled highly offensive high IQ uh you know I’m a playmaker I can shoot the puck too score goals So yeah I love to compete love to win
And what what went well for you this season and then obviously committed to to Michigan State as well How do how these last two years kind of shaken out for you Yeah I committed to Michigan State two years ago and not really knowing when I’d go in and um just was the goal is to have success this year and um you know I had great coaches and teammates around me in Madison that allowed me to do that and um so I’m going to Michigan State next year and I’m super excited to get on campus
What’s the coolest part about all this
Um I think hearing your name called when they um say your name and you don’t really know if it’s going to be you or not and then you hear it It’s it’s pretty crazy It’s probably too early to tell right now but what does this do for your confidence level just putting on that jersey the hat being here How can you take this into next week
Yeah I don’t think it really changes anything I mean um I know what kind of player I am whether I went you know today or if I went tomorrow Um it’s just the same work Um so this is just the start of the journey and there’s a lot of work left to do
But how happy are you if you went today Super pumped Get it off your chest So it’s awesome What’s the lesson that you learned in Madison that take
Um I think just you know being a good teammate and you know we had so many great leaders in Madison there that kind of helped me you know learn that and um see how it’s done So yeah
And then you went back to the beginning of the season you had to tell yourself how it would all turn out
I think I would have been pretty pumped I didn’t really know what to expect going into the year in the US with it being my first year So um yeah I’m just really excited to be here right now in this chair You
think George KD is going to FaceTime you
I hope so That’d be pretty sweet That guy’s a beast Anything else for record
There’s a string of picks from the USHL that you’re a part of Just what what do you think that speaks to come out of league Yeah I think it’s you know you know iron sharpens iron So you’re playing against great teams every night making each other better and the league showcases their talent really well And um yeah it’s it’s the best league junior league to play in So
