Potential Miami Dolphins Tight End Targets! | Deeper Dive Into Trade!
miami Dolphins made a crazy trade yesterday so we’re going to look more into that as well as talk about potential tight ends the Miami Dolphins could be after let’s jump into it [Music] what is up Finn fans came out of nowhere yesterday you know we we knew that Ramsay was going to get traded but Jonnu kind of a little bit of a surprise i thought they’d work on that from what I heard but the trade happened so we’re going to talk about that we’re going to delve into that um and then we are also going to look at potential tight ends because multiple people have talked about potential tight ends that could be brought in but first I have two announcements to make one dolphins.com is doing military fan of the year contest and Monday is the last day you can sign up obviously you have to be part of the military or have had been part of the military you click the link in the description you email Dolphins Talk give them a brief write up on why you should be chosen as the military fan of the year uh and let us know let them know which home game you can and want to attend the contest is only for Miami Dolphins home games at the Hard Rock again the deadline is Monday h and they will announce it late July early August on the Dolphins podcast the winner gets two game tickets a parking pass and $100 Visa gift card for Miami Dolphin home game at the Hard Rock Stadium so again if you have been or currently are in the military and want to sign up for Dolphins Talk military fan of the year contest click the link in the description second thing Q&A if you want I’m doing a Q&A video off season or training camp or whatever q&a video below this video type in you know Q&A video or Q&A and then give me your question or just a comment and I will pick some of them and I’m going to make a whole video going over all of them and chatting and answering them so this is the video if you want to be your question to be in the Q&A video you got to comment below but you have to have Q&A in front of it q&a just so I know who to look for so that’s it once two minutes of me just rambling there you go so the Miami Dolphins have made the trade they have made a big trade now I know what a lot of us and me specifically want to know is what is our cap space sitting at i have no idea because we don’t have contract details really we don’t have cap numbers really like we know that the Dolphins like took on an extra three million of Ramsy’s but the Steelers are taking the rest and then there’s a little dead cap here and there uh and then also we have Janu’s not John Ju we have Minka’s contract which is around 15 million are they going to restructure it there’s a lot of moving pieces that we don’t know right now if the Dolphins were to just straight up send Janu and Ramsay to the Steelers no stipulation no moving pieces no nothing the Dolphins would have $27.7 million in cap space obviously that’s not the case again they have to move pieces but going off of that the Dolphins probably I’m trying to do math in my head you’re probably looking at 12 million coming you know because you got 15 coming off the books uh with Mika’s contracts you’re looking at about like 12.7 12.2 two million and then some of the movements you’re probably looking at they might have 10 million in cap space again off the top of my dome maybe 9 million I don’t know we don’t know all the moving pieces but again when I find that out I will let you know the biggest thing is this I like this one better is this the Miami Dolphins yesterday are now in conversations with multiple teams for uh about acquiring a tight end after sending Jonnu Smith to the Steelers now I will say this because there’s been a lot of grades And a lot of discussions about this trade and you know Ramsay it was foregone conclusion he was gone john knew a lot of people wanted to keep him and some people are like how do you get rid of Janu Smith you know more Raheem Oster comes out and he made his comment but how do you get rid of John New Smith he had a you know a franchise record for tight ends last year and you know why don’t you keep these players yada yada right and I’m going to say what I’m going to say but I want to preface by saying I wanted to keep Janu I told you guys I did and I was hoping they would work something out but they didn’t and we’re we’re we’re moving on But you have to take certain things into perspective and we’re going to do this i’m going to look up John New uh Smith’s stats while I’m talking but you got to look at his body of work right and again I’m not here to poo poo on Janu i love him i wish he would have stayed but obviously he didn’t and we’re in this situation this is John Smith’s stats right not bad and he had a blowout breakout game uh season 884 yards eight touchdowns look at the targets 111 targets the next highest was last year with the Falcons at 70 targets his previous high of receiving yards was uh last year with the Falcons and then obviously he matches the Tennessee Titans his last year there with eight touchdowns but you see how it’s like this one year he had a very very good year not saying he’s not going to do as well in Pittsburgh i don’t know what he’s going to do in Pittsburgh he’s not going to be he’s not getting 111 targets that’s for a fact because he’s got Frier Muth over there and he’s got Washington over there as well he’s going to be splitting with but he took a lot he didn’t take but he was given a lot of opportunities and given a lot of chances in this style of offense now I don’t know what Art Smith I think that’s his name uh the offensive coordinator for the Steelers is going to run obviously he has some familiarity with him because he was with him with the Titans and the Falcons but he’s not going to be in this style of offense that he was in this previous year where he was targeted 111 times he was used on bubble screens he was used in certain situations and he was open free because of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Wadd and Devon Achan on the field that’s not going to happen so yes losing Janu sucks but we can’t sit and look at what he did last year and think that’s what we’re going to get from him every year because it’s not a necess it’s not necessarily true that that’s what we’re going to get from him every year so I know a lot of people were very upset that Johnny is not here and what are we going to do and you know we’re screwed at tight end and all that stuff and just take some things into perspective and I talked about it on Twitter that you know the the it was more the offense than it was Janu again I’m not knocking Jonnu and that’s because you can take another tight end with his skill set and plug it into this offense and probably still have the similar production not saying as good but similar and that’s where we’re going to look at some things now CBS Sports uh Jordan Dejani uh I think that’s how you say his name looked at some tight ends that the Dolphins could potentially be targeting uh because the guy in I showed you Tom Pelisero said the Dolphins are interested in tight ends uh to bring in and on his list he has Cole KT he said KT signed a 4-year $50 million extension with the Bears ahead of the 2023 season but Chicago just utilized a top 10 pick on Coloulston Lovelin so he seems to be an odd man out after putting pen to paper on his new contract Kmet uh caught a career-high 73 passes for 719 yards and six touchdowns however Caleb Williams at quarterback in 2024 KT had 47 passes for four so not great but he’s a guy that could definitely fit in this offense you have also he threw out the name Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens he said uh the NFL world’s last memory of Andrews was him bobbling you know in the playoffs yada yada a key issue when it comes to the potential Andrews trade is the money uh as his AAV average uh is 14 million ranked fifth among so that’s probably a no-go for that then you have uh a conco yes a conquo the tight ends the tight ends the Titans tight end the offense found success with versatile pass catchers that were drafted by the Titans how about running it back with a similar player uh Aonquo is set to enter the final year of his rookie deal he had 450 receiving yards in all three seasons uh in fact he’s been a top tier receiving every year for Tennessee while he’s not a household name Aquo uh is an athlete that can lit line up virtually anywhere so again that’s a possibility another name and a name that I’ve been talking about a lot is Michael Mayor of the Raiders the former former n number 35 overall pick out of Notre Dame was once fired as the tight end of the future in Vegas but the dream shattered when they took Brock Bowers um Mayor is a talented player on his own right but the stats haven’t shown uh shown it in 25 games he’s caught 48 uh passes 460 yards and two touchdowns um and supposedly there’s some off the- field stuff but I’m not going to go too far into that because I don’t know and I’m not going to spread rumors and the last one he has on here is Tyler Higgby uh of the Rams higgby is an older target uh at 32 years old who could come cheaper especially considering the fact uh he’s just one year removed from his uh from his from one year removed on his contract gez Tori’s ACL MCL in the 2023 playoffs higgby uh played in just three regular seasons games last year but caught two touchdowns in the Rams games uh in limited action last year Higgby showed he could still be contributing in the pass game obviously if I had a choice out of the five that Jordan put out here I’m taking Cole KT I’m taking Aonquo and I’m taking Michael Mayer give me one of those three and I’d be happy then also um Dante if you don’t know who he is he is on Miami Dolphins on SI he works with Alan Pupar go check them out he has potential tight end uh targets for Dolphins following Smith trade and one of them is Michael Mayer michael Mayer is a name that jumped out because uh to many because he fits with the Dolphins make a ton of sense plus the Raiders reportedly put on the trade block this off season but couldn’t find a suitor although many will point uh to the team already having Brock Barers as a reason to trade Mars uh mayor the more likely reason is the Raiders change that general managering coaching using two tight ends especially one with complimentary skill set to Bowers and mayor isn’t remotely difficult however there’s a chance that Jordan Spitech and Pete Carol want to bring in their own and Mayor was already floated in trade talks um on the field behind uh Bowers and catching passes from a com combination of Aiden Okonnell Desmond Ritter and Garner Mchu so why would the Dolphins take a look at him well he’s an ideal fit for an inline role he’s 6’4 265 uh was buil as a solid blocker coming out of college he still needs some consistency but there’s some good flashes like this play against the Dolphins which he has there again go check the article out um he also has Cole KT as well kt uh checked several of the same boxes as mayor while there have been some grumblings that the Bears will be willing to move KT most of the driven by the media nothing concrete has been reported by permanent sources he also has Luke Shoemaker of the Dallas Cowboys of the names on this list Luke Shoemaker is probably the one who would have the smallest impact in Miami however he would fit the team’s mold of adding an inline presence and the do and Dallas has enough depth to move on from the former second round pick out of Michigan so there is a ton of possibilities and options for the Miami Dolphins to go out and get another tight end and not have to break the bank and then there’s Kyle Pittz obviously we all know about the name of Kyle Pittz but supposedly teams want to offer the Falcons uh an early third day so you’re looking at fourthrounder uh but they want a second day pick so you’re looking at a third so we’ll see if they move on that but again does he fit what the Dolphins want and do the Dolphins go out and get him so that’s just kind of some news and some updates on the tight end situation now at the quarterback situation this is from Barry Jackson he says the Dolphins have maintained contact with veteran free agent quarterback Rul Douglas who rejected a Miami offer earlier in May douglas started 15 games for the Bills this season they also involved about uh inquired about former Florida State uh St thomas Aquinus standout and ex-charger free agent cornerback Asante Samuel Jr free agent who’s recovering from neck surgery uh he expects to be able to play this season they told another free agent corner that they wanted clarity on Ramsay before moving forward with anyone expecting a sizable contract well Ramsay is gone other established corners still unsigned include James Bradberry Stefan Gilmore Mike Hilton and CJ Henderson so there are still names out there now this is from Dan Graziano talking about the move of the Dolphins trading Jaylen Ram
i like it better for Miami than Pittsburgh that Miami is getting rid of a bunch of salary and you know a player in Ramsey that they had announced to the world they weren’t going to keep couldn’t keep for whatever reason so uh Pittsburgh I also think Miami got the best player in the trade which is which is a nice way to evaluate trades sometimes too so I I think if you’re Pittsburgh you you managed to get older on defense which is challenging because they’re already probably were one of the oldest ones uh the pass catcher they need they needed another they wide receiver and John Smith can sort of effectively be that right like as a dynamic pass catcher that Arthur Smith knows how to use maybe they go out and get somebody else at wide receiver but uh Minka Fitzpatrick is a heart and soul guy on the defense I I I just that that to me is a is a very surprising he had two years left on his contract unless he was making noise about a new contract which we had not heard I had not heard um I’m surprised that they would move on from him
yeah um you you know and I I don’t want to downplay the other guys but Ma is an allp pro a multiple time allpro you know Johnny who’s a Pro Bowler i don’t put much stock into Pro Bowl ma Fitzpatrick is still a very good uh safety even though you’ll have some guys tell you otherwise and some of them are Buffalo Bill fans which is kind of funny to me because um speaking of Buffalo Bills let’s just uh watch this little clip right here uh of uh Mika Fitzpatrick against Buffalo here’s Ma and this is what you’re getting shooting that gap and that’s what I missed from Javon Holland and that’s what that’s why I’m liking this move so much is because you have Ashton Davis who is that style of player sorry I just karate chopped the mic who is that style of player you have a Fatu Malfanu who is a coverage corner uh safety and then you have Mika Fitzpatrick who’s like a general back there you’re taking those three safeties all of a sudden in our safety room to me is very good might be and I’m going to rank I I’ll do a ranking for pre uh camp you know division rankings for each position but I honestly think could be one of the best safety groups in this division right you have this the like you look at the Jets you look at the Patri like I think the Dolphins now adding Mika have the best safety group in the division it’s it’s really not even a question um and then this is from the herd calling coward which take this with a grain of salt mika is a lowmaintenance $7 million cheaper leader in the room not a bounce around the league guy mika is going to be good anywhere mika Fitzpatrick is a pro he’s a leader he’s dependable and that’s kind of what the Dolphins needed to add right they needed to add that dependability um with regards to Ma coming off of a two-year down uh Mina Kims pointed out that he’s a better scheme fit in Miami than Pit than Pittsburgh i don’t know why I was going to say it like that barry also says “Dolphins getting a lot of love on ESPN today wurn had Miami as a playoff team.” Graziano said “Uh from talking to people around the league teams are surprised Miami got something good out of the difficult uh Ramsay situation.” Los um what is this one my glass half full perspective if you can add two among Asante Samuel Raula Douglas Bradberry if healthy Mike Hilton and trade for tight end Michael Mayor or someone Fins would be back to being second best in the division clearly on paper and every bit as good as the other wildcard contenders and I don’t disagree and I talked about this the addition of MA now helps that secondary helps what they’re going to do they have little pieces that need to get done and if they can figure it out and do it all of a sudden this team is now much better than they were at the after the draft right because after the draft we still have big fat holes all over this team uh pause on that so for those asking about Pitts the only mainstream media report I’ve recently uh I’ve seen recently is Jeremy Fowler saying Pitts would be open to a trade as opposed to Atlanta necessarily making him available we will see he also says “Smith is a huge loss unquestionably but if you can’t add if you can’t add a skilled receiving tight end you simply got a very you simply go with a very few tight end packages and give more snaps to Ma uh to Malik Washington Westbrook and Achan in the slot with Wright and Madison or Gordon in the backfield.” He also points out that Westbrook had nine touchdowns last season um credit to the to the Dolphins for getting Ma but reluctant to pay Janu when they had the ability is disturbing in my opinion dolphins have perhaps worst corner and tight end room in the league they’re decent or good everywhere else in my opinion and I agree with that and that’s where as the Miami Dolphins you look at what you did right you you moved your pieces you made your move you take a step back you look at your team right you look at the offense we need help at tight end you look at the defense we’re good at pass rusher good at linebacker very good at safety now we need corners those are your top two needs before you hit training camp you have again 22nd so you have three weeks from today before the vets have to show up for training camp so you have three weeks to go out and get a tight end and a starting corner and I raffled off a name of a ton of starting corners already so very very interesting uh take there from Barry Jackson um but overall you know if I had to grade this trade I think the Dolphins B+ you know they got cap space they picked up a fifth even though it’s a 2027 fifth uh and you know Ramsay was going to be gone regardless so you could take Ramsay and take him off the board because he was it didn’t matter where he was going he’s going to be gone it’s the Janu situation and like I said in the beginning of this video Janu to me was a production or his production was because of the offense and because where Mike put him how Mike used him and all that stuff 111 targets that’s a lot that’s a lot now he’s going to Pittsburgh where he has Fry Mouth he has uh Frier Mouth am I right with Fry Muth comment below i think I’m right with Fry Mouth um and Washington in front of him he ain’t getting 111 targets so he might not get the same production because he’s not in the same offense so again who are they going to add is it a M is it any of the names I gave you is it a surprise name what are they going to do i’m pretty sure I will be shocked if at this point Greer’s not cooking something up because he cooked this up and who would have thought we would have got Mika Fitzpatrick back in a trade where everyone and their mother knew that we were desperately trying to get rid of Ramsay like everyone knew and there was a report out there that said Michael Mayer isn’t for trade but obviously we heard the Dolphin you know Steelers don’t want Ramsay anymore and it’s on off on off on off with Janu and until it happens it happens so we’ll see how all this pans out but when I get the cap update I’ll give it to you cuz as of right now I don’t know right like I said if they just traded Johnny and Jaylen straight up they’d be at 27.7 million they obviously ponyied up a few mil uh for the Ramsay situation and they’re taking on um Mika’s contract so if I had to do my math correctly I think they’re sending out about 10 million in cap space don’t be surprised if they give Ram uh Ma a contract extension they might not first and foremost they have to give Caler a contract extension if that’s what they’re going to do but might do something with uh Ma he none of his money’s guaranteed next year a lot of moving pieces but you know this like I said uh yesterday this kind of shows that they’re not tanking and I’ll talk more about that cuz some people still think they’re tanking i don’t know how you don’t make a trade for an AllPro safety if you’re tanking you just don’t do that but comment below let me know what you guys think again if you want to be in the Q&A video put Q&A before your question so I can look search for it and pick you guys out i will see you tomorrow tomorrow we’re finally talking line unless more news happens uh but like usual stay classy fin

Good Morning Phinz Up
Is Minkah's mother coming with him?
Darren Waller and a conditional 7th for a conditional 6th. I don’t know what he’s going to look like, but not a bad price tag. Will McDaniel resurrect his career like he did for Jonnu?
We got Darren WALLER
We just got Darren Waller wtf is Grier doing
What the actual fuck are we doing
Well the Dolphins just traded for Darren Waller 🤔
watching this as we land waller 😂
Q&a if the dolphins have a bad season will they fire McDaniel and Chris Greer and get rid of tua
We just traded for Waller
Waller 😂😂😂
Q&A What would your 53 man all time roster of the Miami Dolphins look like?
What do you think of the retired Giant TE Grier just signed???
Q&A: With the addition of Fitzpatrick,do you think he can also play corner for us?
Welp Darren Waller it is…
Well, they just traded for Darren Waller 🧐. It's not the first name that came to my mind since he was retired, but it seems to be a low risk trade.
We signed Darren Waller from the giants. He came out of retirement
Guess Waller it is! Didn’t see that coming
Bet you didn't see Waller coming haha
DARREN WALLER?????
Aaaaaand we got Waller 😂
Jokes on us…we get Waller😂😂😂
This pisses me off we HAD A TIGHT END , a REALLY REALLY GOOD ONE !! but we threw him away !! Doesn’t make any sense!! I’m so mad right now !
Id say trade for Darren Waller
Darren Waller and Jalin Conyers, Both can Block. Plus Both of Them can catch with YAC. Let Mike McDaniel COOK. 2 TE's that'll have DC's up at night 🫣😬 trying to draw up a Defensive Game Plan to stop The Duo, but then there is Reek, Waddle, Malik Washington, Achane,Nick Westbrook,Tahj Washington, Andrew Armstrong 🤦🏿♂️this is why i tell myself,"patience is a virtue"..🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬 Dolphins gonna be a sleeper This Season. Mark my words! This New Dolphins Team will be better than 2023
If the running game is on par and our WR's are back at 1,300 yrds each or close, then we just do not need or SHOULD need a TE with all them targets,so imo,Waller may be enough, even if he gets 600 yrds or so and obviosly what would be perfect is if he scores in the red zone similar to Smith last year, but all in all Smith would not have gotten so many targets if oyr offense was running properly, but the run game was way,way off last season, and a fair amount of Smiths catches were off of screens or just around the line of scrimmage but if we are running well, that will change next season
Pre-video comment. Lol I bet Waller wasn't mentioned in this video 😅
Grier said “Nah, give me retired 33 yr old Darren Waller. That’s my guy.”
I say Darren Waller comes out of retirement and we get him
Darren Waller is the guy they just traded for from the sound of things. The only TE not mentioned lol
Dammmmmnnnnn. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they traded for a retired Darren Waller from the Giants .
My idea consists on Miamis offense being 1 or 2 yards away from the opponents goal line
Well we got Waller
Getting Darren Waller to un-retire wasn't on my bingo card
It would be great if we still got a Meyer or Kmet and see what Waller has in the immediate future and have those guys in case the inevitable injury or for down the road.
Ok couch mackwanabe clicky baite 😂😂
Q&A: if the season goes from 17 to 18+ games; would it be best do you think it would be best to give an extra BYE WEEK or would it be best to allow teams to increase roaster from 51 to 65-70 to account for injuries??
Q&A 2: Can you ask Omar or Allen Poup; ask Mike McDaniel what are his thoughts of integrating a new version of wildcat with Achane and Tyreek, or Achane and wright?
Also since you have the new desk can should we expect different routines for when we score, get a 3nOUT, INT, and or 3pt attempts?? lol
Q&A: With the new trades and revalations of trading draft capital in the 2027 draft away even though they are low round picks. Do you think that these moves indicate that Mcdaniel and Grier have been told thier jobs are safe??
Q&A: What are your thoughts on the O-line? We've put a bandaid on a gushing wound this off-season. Has Grier ever worried about the O-line?
Q&A: was it smart for the dolphins to trade away jonnu smith even tho we don’t have any other good tight ends?
Q&A: I have another question: what’s your opinion on chris Grier on the last month with the Jalen Ramsay trade or the Jonnu trade or trading for Waller? And do you think it was a smart idea to make those moves?
Great move jonu career year not a good locker he is not worth huge contract
New subscriber.
I like the trades a lot. Jonnu Smith was great last year and had a record season. But I think that the Dolphins have improved their OL this offseason and are trying to get their running game back to where they were in ‘23–the inflection point was when Connor Williams (PFF #1 center) got hurt in the Tennessee Monday Night game. Last year they couldn’t run the ball effectively, and teams as a result were able to shut down Hill and Waddle, and Smith got a ton of the targets. Smith is an excellent TE, but like Gesicki, he’s a better receiver than blocker. A stronger blocking TE fits what they want to be this season: a stouter run-first team with dangerous WRs. Waller and Tanner Connor may be better fits in that respect, at better prices.
Q&A lets say the Dolphins make it to the super bowl, if that ever happens, are u the type that would watch it around friends,in a bar,at a party etc.etc.,or would u watch it by yourself without any commotion going on in the background?
Q&A: what’s your fantasy outlook for Achane this season??
