MLB Highlights | Yankees vs. Blue Jays – July 1, 2025

And a splitter hit in the air to right center field. And into the shadows goes Miles Straw to make the catch. One down. One, two, and a ground ball up to middle and into center. One run is home. Here comes Judge and he will score as well. Gosman got ahead of him but couldn’t put him away and the Yankees have an early two to nothing lead. A big and he started naming some of them. He’s a big fan. Swing and a miss to get Lameu. Two down. And then Freed comes back with the curve ball to get him. One down. Line drive right center field and that’s going to get down and get to the fence. Springer’s got it and Judge is on his way to second. Be pretty good to still be a regular in your 30s.
And he hooks one down the line and all the way to the wall. Lameu is on his way to third and he’ll be held. Lameu does not run well and that was an easy stop at third for curveball and hit pretty well to deep left field and it is gone. Well, I think George was thinking the same thing you were thinking and he hits it out for his 12th home run of the season. George stayed on this breaking ball away so well hitting by Springer. He saw all the different pitches. He saw swinker sweepers change ups. Well hit ball straightaway center. Bellinger going back. B. [Music] Andres Jimenez takes Max Free to the deepest part of the park for a three-run homer and the Blue Jays have the lead.
Says lefties can’t hit Max Freed. He saw a few sinkers in the first at bat and we talked about the sinker ear. Ground ball to short. Jimenez to Jimenez and onto first in time. Why not, right? Love it. And a curve ball to get him. Six complete now here at the Rogers Center on Canada Day. 4-2 Blue Jays. And the Owen to Stanton grounded to third and it gets under the glove of Clemens into left field and a run will score. And now a ground ball to first and Guerrero drops it and everybody is safe and the game is tied. Fisher ahead one and two. Got it. Nice tight slider down and in. Seventh inning stretch, tied at four. [Applause] And it’s in to left. And that will give the Blue Jays the lead. And a highf fly ball to left center field. It’s going and it is gone. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Well, you’re in this situation and of course he’s trying to get a ball in the air, but I’m sure he’s thinking get it in the air, something to the outfield to cash in another run. They’ve got the lead by one. maybe add on that single run right here, but he thought, why not add on four when you square it up like that?
What a season. And Kirk strikes out. That’ll end the inning, but what an inning it was. And a broken bat ground ball up the middle. And Andre Jimenez turns a double play. And that’s B for to force and a run and a base hit into left field. Two more runs are going to come in. What a game for George Springer. And a swing and a miss. Guerrero strikes out. The inning is over. Judge goes and they’ll concede second. Defensive indifference. And a ground ball to short to second one on to first. Safe is Dominguez. He beats it out. That’ll get the Yankees a run and extend the game. And now Dominguez takes second. Again, defensive indifference.

The Toronto Blue Jays had the power of a nation driving them as they demolished the New York Yankees 12-2 in a highly-anticipated Canada Day matchup. George Springer contributed 2 HR, one being a grand slam, and 7 RBI in the win.

  1. New York Yankees catcher is something else.. he catches the ball in the dirt and brings it back up in the strike zone, and holds it. They all do it, but he's a work of art πŸ˜‚

  2. With Fried on the mound, I thought that the Jays were going to add to the Red Jersey Curse. George said "Not today, eh?" One game out of first place. Love it. GJG
