And it’s going to start here with this matchup coming to us from PNC Park where the Pittsburgh Pirates take on the St. Louis Cardinals. And the Pirates sending out Mitch Keller for the start in this one while the Cardinals will counter with Sunny Gray. And Sunny Gray coming off a complete game, one hit shutout against the Cleveland Guardians last time out. 11 strikeouts in that game for Sunny Gray. And he pitched extremely well there. and now, you know, faces a Pirates team that he’s faced twice this season, has had extremely solid numbers against. 12 innings of work, five hits total, one run allowed, and 12 strikeouts to just one walk. So, you got to give the credit where it’s due for Sunny Gray and just how well he has pitched. And now, you know, you go up against a Pirates lineup that, you know, has started to catch fire in some of their recent games. However, it’s also worth noting that, you know, the Pirates were in a little bit of a dog fight with the uh with the Cardinals in two in Tuesday’s matchup. At the time this video is being recorded, it’s in the top of the ninth. It is one it’s a one- nothing game. So, you know, this is going to I think be a lowscoring series, a low-scoring battle. And you know, if this were to hold up and you know, like I said, at the time this video is being recorded, it’s one- nothing. If the Cardinals were to get shut out here, it would be four shut outs for the Cardinals in their last seven games, which is mind-boggling for me at this point. But, you know, just they’re just struggling right now. Now, they face a pitcher in Mitch Keller, who has been solid for much of the year, a 3.90 record despite a 2-10 personal record. But, a lot of that has to do with the fact that his Pirates lineup just doesn’t give him the run support behind him that he needs to really be able to get the wins in those games. And you know, that could prove to be helpful here if he faces a a Cardinal lineup that hasn’t necessarily been scoring a whole lot because Mitch Keller this season has received an average of 2.59 runs of support per start. He’s received two runs of support or less, 11 of his 17 starts this season and four runs or less in 16 of those 17 games. So, for me, I just I envision this being a low-scoring game. I think Sunonny Gray is going to have a strong start here. I think that Mitch Keller could have a strong start as well. You have two bullpens that are still, you know, fairly solid in my eyes. The uh they’re two of the top three bullpens over the last seven days, last seven days, pardon me, in terms of staff erra. So, I think that this is going to be, you know, like I said, just a lowscoring game potentially 3-2. You could definitely take something in the first five, but I’m also leaning towards something in the full game here as well. So, give me the under in the first five and full game under eight and that’s going to be my free pick.
