Salvy Surges in Seattle | Royals Even Series vs. Mariners

Well, it was a fantastic return home to Seattle for the Mariners big win last night. See what’s in store today. This should be an interesting matchup with Lorenzo on one side , the veteran pitcher and Then Emerson Hancock quite a nice bounce back last time. He really did five innings against the Minnesota Twins, his last time out and I look for a good outing for Emerson Hancock. He’s really done a heck of a job this year with so many guys, key players, key pitchers on the injured list and India scorches it right center field and the gap down into the sun shot a base hit and one hot over the fence. And it’s an automatic double for Jonathan India to open the game. Here is Bobby Wood Junior swing and a Miss and he got him strike three with a fastball away Emerson Hancock with his first strikeout of the ball game and a big one anytime you get Bobby Witt Junior to swing and Miss. So one out for Kansas City that will bring up first baseman Vinnie Pino broken batting on the knuckles. Williamson circles from the grass on to first and luke Raley cleans it up on the other end. Nice play on both sides. You can see this ball off a little bit. Get to the right hand side of it is one of the fastest guys on burn down the line. But Then you’d be so quick on the transfer, you have time to set your feet. So runner on third with two outs now and Michael Garcia comes to the plate and the way the Royals offense has gone, especially over the last month. They can ill afford to waste Jonathan India’s leadoff double grounded up the middle and into center field. And Michael Garcia picks up the Royals with a two out RB I man, that’s really nice. That’s a big clutch hit right there with two outs. Very nice top spin. That’s exactly what he wanted to do. Finding a hole and tonight the Mariners will get Michael Lorenzen. Let’s hope that Lorenzen can go ahead and get some early count outs. That would be nice to get through this inning after his team gave him a run a shutdown. Inning 123 would be perfect for him. And that’s hit to the gap in right center field and a nice running play by Cag Leone and he was looking right into the sun, that sun is shining right into right field and right center, once he gets his long strides going, he can get there and a nice play breaking ball left side of the infield headed for shallow left. Bobby Wor calls for it. He was on the grass now. He hustles in now by Garcia calls for it and he’s the one to make the catch. Rodriguez is out down now with 33 home run two shy of Ken Griffey Junior’s 35 before the all star break. And Raley swings and misses and a slider down and in it squirts away from Saldi picks it up. First base side slings down to Passino covering the bag at first. It’s in time for the out and that ends the inning. So Michael Lorenzen strikes out Cal Raley and retires the Mariners in order. So Ks draws a leadoff walk. He’s on at first with nobody out for nick Lofton and Lofton laces it down the left field line. That’s a fair ball bouncing to the left field corner. Ks round second. He digs to third Wilson wins. Homes is coming to the plate. He slides in safely. No RB I double for Nick Lofton and the Royals have a two nothing lead in the top of the second inning with runners on the corners. Nobody out top of the second Royals. Two Mariners nothing is had the Royals first hit in last night’s game. He started a two out rally in the third inning and hits it and a second baseman Young makes a tremendous play. No double play. A run scores the Royals lead three nothing but that was hard hit and a wicked hop handled by Young for the out bring up Rose Arena. The start from last night’s game , Randy with a couple of home runs, his 1/100 and 101st career home runs out to left field shot back. Randy Arose Arena has homered for the third time in his last four at bats and are on the board. Well, they certainly come in bunches for randy Rosander when he’s seen it. He’s crushing plenty of hard contact lately. It’s paying off three home runs in this home stand for is the tt run at the plate with two outs and at first base fastball struck him out. So the inning ends with Cal Raley on deck and at the end of three, the Royals lead 31 bottom of the fourth inning Mariners down by two. Cal Raley hits one home run tonight. He would match his career with 34 home runs and he waves and misses and a breaking ball down and in and there’s a strikeout that is number four on the night for Michael and a swing and a miss and a flier from Lonz and five strikeouts and his 2nd 123 inning of the night. And we go to win number five of the Royals on top in this 13 to one and Bobby got a leadoff infield single and he’s on at first with for SINO drills it high in the air deep, left center field Rodriguez streaks over slides and he trapped it and it rolls away out of the warning track scampers around second and gets to third and Pasin has an opposite field. Double. Julio Rodriguez came very close to making one of the catches of the year. He has lined to third and grounded to third and this would be a great spot to break that tie with alex Gordon on the Royals all time hit list. Fastball stroke tie in the air deep right center field. Rodriguez is at the fence, he leads hits off the wall scores from third. Paquin hustles to third and Salvi’s in his second with a double. Paquin’s trying to score, throw home. He’s safe. A battle roll across the plate and a fist pump from Vinny Pasquin. It’s a two run double and the Royals lead 5 to 1 in the top of the fifth inning. And the question now is, was that a home run? And no, it was assuredly off the defense Rodriguez just really misjudged it one on and one away and the better will be third baseman Ben Williamson. Kids at the bottom of the order have been very impressive this year. This is inside the bag and into right field. An RB I base hit for Williamson. He’s racing the second base and is the Raley scores from third. That will get it done. I love this too. Just getting that extra base sniffing out that double Mariners have scratched out a run here in the fifth. Looking for more. Get that mistake right here for an extra run on the board. This is Loke be dropping shot left field base hit JP Crawford an RB I knock for the Mariners shortstop brings in Ben Williamson from third. All of a sudden it’s a two run game. Well, the Mariners kicking up their heels here in the bottom of the 6th, 89 runs are aboard 53, Kansas City 1st and 2nd for the Mariners. One out. The new pitcher, an Serpa in a swing and a ground. The third Garcia has it goes to second one. The relay to first in time. It goes Garcia to Lofton to Vinny Pascu, just what the doctor ordered. 543 to get out of the jam. Dylan Moore at second Williamson at first, they both walked. Will sig walk the bases loaded. There you go on the ground to second, Lofton to Junior and out at first base got him. That’s exactly what the doctor ordered Moore going to third base on the ground ball, double play, but two big outs right now , although it doesn’t get any easier now with JP Crawford coming up and now Lofton gets a nice big bounce and Lucas Irsay bails out Serpa and the Royals at the bottom of the seventh and they lead 5 to 3 to go. And here comes Cal Raley to the plate with nobody on base again. The Royals have handled him just fine tonight, Michael Lorenzen struck him out twice and Then John Schreiber struck him out and he struck him out with one on one. That’s the fourth time tonight that Cal Raley has struck out. Power up Steven where to go Cruz. That will work, man. Look at this. This is just a, here it is home run hitter. Salvi tonight has two doubles and two RBIs and with his two hits, he has broken a tie with Alex Gordon for six on the Royals all time hit list. First pitch and a ground ball up the middle. And Salvi has a three RB I game garcia goes to third, three hits and three RBS for Salvador Perez and the Royals get another two out RB. I very nice. He’ll take them Royals have converted 74% of their save opportunities. Master Boni flicks it in the air. Left center field, Kyle Isbell underneath it. He reaches up and makes the catch and the ball game is over. The Royals begin July with jubilation. It’s a win over the Mariners here in Seattle final score of 6 to 3.

Salvador Perez turned in a 3-hit, 3-RBI performance to lead the way as the Royals bounced back to level the series!

  1. Please wake up these bats for the second half. We need a winning streak from now until All Star Break. Abduct Kevin Seitzer from the Mariners if you have to. He needs to come home. He has a home in Leawood. I'm sorry Alec, but you gotta go. The batting isn't consistent enough. Not with this level of talent.
