Good read. It's a bit unclear what number the A's have to hit to reach the minimum, and how close they are to hitting it, but we know this org doesn't act with foresight. Here's to hoping that the union wakes up for something as fundamental as player pay.

  1. The MLBPA has been so utterly noneffective with everything relating to the A’s. Zero reason to believe they’re going to suddenly grow a spine.

  2. It would be bullshit, especially since it’s the player basically demanding a trade. But he signed with FJF knowing full well he would be pitching in a minor league park for at least 3 years. He also knew FJF wouldn’t spend a dime more than he is required to do, so his salary prevents the team from doing something foreign to FJF, improving the team by spending on free agents and keeping good players. And, FJF!

  3. Lol A’s retain 90 percent of his salary to remain on revenue sharing. Book it
